Lip Treatments -E.L.F. - Studio Lip Exfoliator
poikilotherm 11/8/2012 2:07:00 PM
Just do it. So cheap, and it actually works! Seriously. I never thought I needed a "lip exfoliator" until I used this one. I don't know what else to say. This product is awesome and exfoliates the hell out of your lips without hurting them. Love.

BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream
poikilotherm 11/8/2012 2:05:00 PM
I really love this BB cream. I love everything about it. The only thing I really do not love is the shade range. I have to choose between the light and light/medium. Light is too light, and light/medium is too orange. It is so irritating, but I fix it with the power I set with afterwards. Other than that, I love it. If you use too much, the texture will look odd, but if you use the right amount, it's pretty awesome. And I think the coverage is great for a BB cream. It's not full coverage, but it certainly does cover. I've been using this since it came out in the summer and have not stopped. I recommend it.

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm
poikilotherm 3/16/2012 4:07:00 PM
I LOVE this. I only have Cherry Me, but that's because the others are sold out at all the CVS and Targets near me. Argh! Anyway, these are very moisturizing and smell good. What I love about mine is the color. I can't pull off lipstick that is too opaque and brightly pigmented. It looks weird on me. But tints of color like this red one work perfect. I also have the lip butter from Revlon and I like baby lips better. These are more balm-y and chapstick-y. The lip butters are lipsticks but moisturizing. This only costs around $3-$4 while the lip butters are $7.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter
poikilotherm 2/21/2012 7:45:00 PM
Great lip butter, but not worth the hugeee hype. I would buy it again. To me, it is just a really nice lip product - definitely not a HG or the best of all time. It's creamy and pigmented. If you're looking for those qualities, you'll be satisfied.

Lipstick -Boots - No 7 Poppy King - Glamour
poikilotherm 2/9/2012 11:12:00 PM
This was on sale at target so I picked one up for like $6.50. I'm a sucker for packaging (haha) which is honestly what drew me in. The lipstick is so sleek looking and not clonky/huge like some lipsticks. Very cute. But the color is just as beautiful, and what I love is how it is not drying. I hate drying lipsticks! All I can say is it's a beautiful lipstick with a great formulation for a good price! I'm happy with my purchase :)

Scrubs -Aveeno - Skin Brightening Daily Scrub
poikilotherm 2/9/2012 11:06:00 PM
I've used this several times and so far, I like it. I have to update if I change my mind or have any weird reactions, but I think it will grow on me more and more. The best thing I liked about it was the second time I used it, I noticed brightening and evening action. As far as the texture of the product, it is nothing like your typical scrub. When I first got it, I actually thought I had a defective one because it feels so much like a cleanser. It doesn't really foam. There are tiny beads, which you can feel. It is extremely gentle. If you like coarse exfoliation, this isn't for you. (although, why would you like coarse exfoliation? ouch!) This is probably the most gentle exfoliation I've used. It does make my skin just as smooth as other methods though, which I like. I've been using it before my cleanser at night. Usually I remove makeup (wipe) and then double cleanse. However I now remove makeup, use this, and then cleanse with a foaming cleanser. It seems like it would dry me out but I use a rich moisturizer and only cleanse at night. In the AM I just splash w/ water. Sorry this is so long. I just wanted to let people know how I use it. So far, it's going well and I recommend this scrub.

Lips -Sephora - Cream Lip Stain- all shades
poikilotherm 1/31/2012 3:41:00 PM
As the last reviewer stated, it's not so much a stain as it is an opaque lipstick that dries. It is VERY lightweight and slightly liquidy, but oh my god is the color pigmented! I wish I had bought a different color. I bought the darkest one (not realizing it wouldn't be sheer or glossy) and it looks kind of black on me! Haha... but I am going to go and pick out another color. The color lasts a long time. Highly recommend.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
poikilotherm 1/31/2012 3:38:00 PM
I only do this mask with honey. It is REALLY good at exfoliating. It does dry you out some (like a lot of masks) but with the honey it is antibacterial AND anti inflammatory. I think it's a wonderful mask and definitely worth trying. I also do just honey masks, which I love because the honey fights bacteria and attracts moisture.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
poikilotherm 1/31/2012 3:32:00 PM
I've used this several times. It is drying, but not extremely, and I don't have really oily skin or anything. After putting on moisturizer I was fine. It definitely keeps your skin looking smoother and your pores looking smaller. If you are really congested, you might break out at first. I was kind of congested, and this only made it better, not worse. I didn't have an initial purge or anything. It's not something I would use too often, but it did make my skin a lot smoother and softer, so I will use it again. I definitely recommend it.

Cleansers -Trader Joe's - Nourish All in One Facial Cleanser
poikilotherm 1/31/2012 3:30:00 PM
Really, really loving this cleanser. I prefer foaming cleansers, and this one is the least drying of all I have tried. I've been using CeraVe Foaming (which i still love) but it dries out your skin more than this one. For reference, I have combo skin that has a tendency to get oily at the end of the day. This cleans well, doesn't dry, and the best part about it is the ingredients! Tonsss of antioxidants. Coupled with other antioxidants in your regimen, like witch hazel, this is sure to keep your skin looking radiant and young.

Pressed Powders -New York Color - Pressed Translucent Powder
poikilotherm 9/15/2011 8:10:00 PM
Loving this powder. Bought it because I was tired of spending $30 on an estee lauder powder (plus their customer service sucks). I wasn't expecting much, and I figured for $3 it would be a bit cakey or something, but oh my god it's perfect. I actually like the finish more than the EL pressed powder. The only thing is to apply it light-handedly. You don't need much, this mattifies with just a little. Even when I put a lot, it doesn't get cakey (just a bit unnatural). I don't find it too white, but I'm pretty pale right now.

Cleansers -Cerave - Foaming Facial Cleanser
poikilotherm 7/10/2011 6:10:00 PM
Similar to purpose, but more gentle imo. Never stung or irritated me. I've been using a couple of weeks, now, and I am very pleased with it. A lot of cleansers irritate my skin lately (which is not even sensitive), so it's great to have one that just feels nice on my skin. I never use it to remove M/U, but I'm a firm believer it should be removed before using a cleanser, anyway.

Pressed Powders -Estee Lauder - Lucidity Translucent Pressed Powder
poikilotherm 6/18/2011 9:38:00 PM
What I don't like about this is the fact that it's not cheap (I've found very comparable or even equal drugstore powders for less) and the customer serviced I received buying it both times was a negative experience. I don't know if it's just this counter, but the women were such snobs to me. It was almost as if it was a freaking burden for them to help me. I HATE that, especially when I'm spending money. I may not buy again for this reason, I don't know. I like the powder enough, though. It doesn't look chalky or powdery which is a plus. It doesn't irritate my skin or break it out, but it does dry it out if I use too much. But I don't, so it's not a problem. I tend to use powder as a way to set my moisturizer. I hate the feeling of foundation so I don't wear it. This goes on nicely.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
poikilotherm 6/18/2011 9:34:00 PM
I really enjoy this mascara, but my lashes are very thick and dark already so I can't tell if it's the mascara or not. It doesn't clump though, so I am thankful for that. I may buy it again! It's better than other mascaras I've tried...

Cleansers -Purpose - Gentle Cleansing Wash
poikilotherm 5/15/2011 8:48:00 PM
This is a perfect basic cleanser. I use in the morning, at night I like something a little bit stronger. It is a tad bit drying but not stripping at all, and you won't notice after using a moisturizer. It makes you feel clean. This will not change your skin drastically, it just cleans it thoroughly. But it does it damn well :) edit - I'm making this to a 3 because it does dry your skin a lot in the long term. I no longer use. However, it is gentle and a great basic wash.
