Blush -E.L.F. - Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder
plf1988 7/12/2010 8:22:00 AM
This is one of my favorite products of all time. It is hands down my favorite bronzer (NC25). It is so buildable and warm. I have large pores on my cheeks, especially on my right cheek, and even though this has shimmer in it, with a few layers, my pores are invisible. I absolutely love the effect of the blush layered on top. It can be used for contour or just blush on top of bronzer. It gives that gorgeous summer glow often seen on celebrities
The photo above is of me wearing the lipstain in Frenzy. Pros; Love the way I can define my lips with this, intense color, long lasting. Can use any balm on top. Cons: goes on a tiny bit streaky, falls into and darkens dry spots I also got it in flame and can't wait to try it and other colors
Blush -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Lip & Cheek Pop "Peach Passion"

This is awesome!!! I just got it for $1.75 at the semi annual sale, and I must go back for a backup. Packaging sucks, it shrunk over time and fell out of its tube as soon as I opened it. It's still a fine texture for use though. What a super cute, bright color. Great product
I really like Lash Blast Original and Lash Blast Fusion. But this is awful. Visible shimmer, which turns into clumpy chunks of glitter. Gives me spider lashes and removes the curl in my lashes immediately (whereas LB Orig and LB Fusion keep the curl). I hate this, I hate the grey sparkly color, the texture, everything. Bleck. This is going back.
Usually my HG is Rimmel Sexy Curves. I have long lashes but they are stick straight, so I curl them everyday. I usually have a tough time finding mascaras that can keep the curl, but SC does it for me. I bought this at CVS to get extra bucks, and also tried LB Luxe (AWFUL). I am surprised and pleased to report that it gives me great volume, length, and keeps the curl. I will continue to use it, and may purchase again. Good job, Lash Blast. The packaging is definitely stupid though. Brush is too big and so is the tube.
Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Single in Brulee
plf1988 3/28/2010 9:23:00 AM
This is an. exact. dupe. of Blanc Type. I have both, and this makes me want to swap Blanc Type. It is that good. I am NC20 so it's perfect on the browbone to cover up veins/darkness. I LOVE it with the caramel matte shade in the Vanity palette (browns/neturals) as a classy "no makeup" look. But if you buy the vanity palette, brulee is the shade in the top left, so no need to buy the single. This is a must have. I have only been able to find it at walgreens here, though. Rite Aid and CVS didn't have the palettes. This stays put all day with primer and pretty long without primer, too. Get this.
Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Wicked #818

Wow. What. a. plum. This is the most perfect plum shadow I have tried, sooo smoky and perfect for my dark brown eyes. The gold is great too! I make excuses to use the purple because I love it so much. It blends so nicely, a real surprise for a D/S shadow. I love to use it with MAC naked pigment on the lid/inner corner with this smoked out in the crease. It also goes with shades of gold, cream, bronze, silver, anything. For a dramatic matte look: try MAC Blanc Type or WNW Brulee in the inner corner/lid with the plum smoked out through the crease/v. I got this $5 on sale at CVS and I'm so glad. It has ended the search for the perfect dark purple.
Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Sassy

This review is solely for the taupe side, because it is PERFECT. I am NC20, dark dark hair and eyes, and this is such a smoky sexy shade. I can use it everyday for school and then add some shimmer to the lid for a glam night look. At $5 on sale vs the price of Mac Satin Taupe, I'll be sticking with this. I love the way it blends and applies so easily. I depotted it into my Z-Palette and it is one of my most used shadows. The green is a little muddy and maybe too cool toned for me. I rarely use it, but the taupe side of this duo alone is worth the 5 stars.
Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Studio Secrets Anti-Dull Primer
plf1988 2/24/2010 3:19:00 PM
I think I have found my HG primer. Originally I had planned to buy the white mattifying primer but my D/S do not yet have that one. So I bought this and I am so glad. I have this in the "Anti-dull Brightening" formula for light skin. It is pink and goes on sheer, you'll only need a pea-sized amount. Too much will make you too pink. It does a great job of evening out my skin tone and filling in pores before foundation. It gives a VERY illuminating/dewy look but is toned down after powder (for reference: I use Revlon Photoready with a drop of Stila Illuminating TM, which is very illuminating already). This primer keeps my foundation on all day. I would not recommend this for oily skin because although it does not get oily, its extra glowy finish may give that effect visually. If you are oily I would go with the mattifying formula. This product is exactly what I wanted from Smashbox Photo Finish color correcting primer (didn't work for me). This is smooth but not slimy whatsoever. The price was ehh for the drugstore but since it works I don't mind one bit. I will absolutely repurchase and will try the mattifying for the summer. But most of all, I LOVE how this makes my makeup look. I have never ever looked this good. Everything looks so perfectly smooth, bright, and even. Update-- This isn't as great as I thought. Makes my face too pinkish, and makeup slides off in the summer. I usually use it just on my cheeks to avoid this. Will continue use it in the winter though.
This looks scary in the tube. I would never have picked this up in a store. But my roommate had it so I tried it. LOVE IT on the lips. I am warm toned and even though it is blue based it looks great on. It lasted all day, I felt glamorous while cleaning. Haha. Would buy if I ever saw it at a CCO. Packaging is dumb.
Eye Shadow -Revlon - Matte Eyeshadow in Riviera Blue 007
plf1988 2/14/2010 9:57:00 AM
I am a bit tied up over this e/s. I LOVE the color and the way it smokes out so nicely. But it is a serious PITA to blend. Maybe it's just the way I do it but I usually don't have trouble blending. I wouldn't buy again because I don't think I'll ever run out, and if i do I'll try a MAC shadow in a similar color. I will still use this and attempt better blending techniques because it really is beautiful. I would give it a 5 if it blended better.
This is terrible. My roommate has it and I have tested it a couple of times. I was hoping that it would give me that nice glow that the foundation does. NOPE. Just chalk and glitter. I tried to press it in with a powder puff and then whisk away the extra... I was left with huge chunks of glitter. If this was finely milled glitter, maybe I could deal, but nooo. I wanted to buy this but now that I've had two terrible experiences testing it, I won't!
Eye Makeup Remover -Lumene - Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover for Eyes and Lips
plf1988 2/6/2010 10:38:00 PM
This stuff is unbelievable. HG for sure. It is the only eye m/u remover I have used that takes EVERYTHING off, and fast!! I will repurchase this over and over. Leaves a bit of oily film that is easily wiped off.
I was really surprised by this. I use it as a highlighter on the tops of my cheeks and then sweep it up to my browbone. It actually lasts all day. It goes on smooth but needs a few layers. I like this about it because it makes it harder to screw up the application, leaving me less likely to look like a disco ball. Unbelievable price and it will last awhile. The brush it comes with is not suitable for its intended use, but it does make a great eyeliner brush.
Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lipstick in Rosy Nude
plf1988 1/22/2010 2:18:00 PM
I loove this. I generally never wear lipstick but this board is changing my mind on many things. It was on sale for 6.99 at walgreens and with purchase qualified me for a $5 off revlon coupon. This is a slightly glossy shimmerless rosy pink color. It is similar to my lip color but intensified and a bit darker. Its staying power isn't the greatest but application is easy so I don't mind. For reference I have NC25ish skin tone with dark hair and eyes.
