Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HIP Pure Pigment Shadow Stick

Have you ever wished you give a product zero? Because that's me - I want to give this a big fat zero on all categories. Dry, crumbly, heaps of fallout. I did not pay a lot of $$ for this - but even if you got this for free you wouldn't use it. Yep - it's that bad. I got this off ebay so thank GOD I didn't spend a lot of money on it. I HATE THIS PRODUCT. L'oreal - you have really disappointed me.

Blush -MAC - Fun & Games - Hello Kitty [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

Yep, the Hello Kittiness was the main attraction. However, this blush is GORGEOUS! It is a builable peach colour which never looks orange... very natural look. As my blush tends to fade during the day I just keep this in my bag and touch it up! It truly looks gorgeous. As it was limited edition, I can't buy it again. But if MAC rerelease this - I may buy again. However, I am going to try L'oreal's Innocent Flush to see if I can get similar results for a fraction of the price!!

Crème -Ben Nye - Matte Foundation
rated 1 of 5

Well, if you want to cover your face in greasepaint - this is the thing for you! Lots of raves on this product - I seriously don't get it. I have oily skin that is also quite dry in winter. This is a terrible product for me. Yes, it is cheap for $10 US but if you hate it and it costs 10c it is still a waste! Really thick, greasy feeling - it feels like you are wearing an oil mask. If you want a light and natural finish - try the Ben Nye Belle Visage Foundation. Yep, more expensive but way more worth it. This will give you a sheer but lovely dewy finish. This is a massive massive disappointment.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Blackground
rated 5 of 5
planetofapes 8/15/2009 2:26:00 AM

This has to be my favourite Paintpot I have! (I have painterly, bare study and moss scape.) Fantastic eye base - I have had a lot of problems getting one that is dark enough. I also have MAC Creme Color base in root (dark brown) but not dark enough for me. It is black with shimmery finish. Like all paintpots, can't apply a layer too thick otherwise it will cake. But this is a MUST for smokey eyes plus looks great under loads and loads of eyeshadows. Turns pinks into silver, works fantastically under browns and basically every colour! This is love!! As with all Paintpots store upside down in your makeup tray so it doesn't dry out. As recommended by others, put a small blob of it in another container and use it that way to prevent dry outs. I have used paintpots for months using this method and have had zero problems with drying. I love Paintpots!! Thank you MAC!!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Moss Scape
rated 4 of 5

A beautiful olive green with gold shimmer. I really love it. Fantastic if you like green/olive eyeshadows. I use brown over it and it looks great. I only paid $10 US for this so it was great value. Bearing in mind that my other MAC paintpots were purchased in Australia and they were $35 Australian each. Yep, complete rip off. I think this paint pot it more emoillent and spreadable than the other ones I have (bare study and painterly) and it was a great buy. Not sad about discontinuing as this pot will last me a lifetime!!

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - DermaVeen - Moisturising Lotion
rated 5 of 5
planetofapes 8/8/2009 9:23:00 AM

I use this as a body cream during winter after cleansing with the Dermaveen body wash. For sensitive, dry skin - nothing better! Not expensive either - great stuff. At times it doesn't feel very moisturising because it just sinks in with no shine or anything on the skin. I feel that it traps the moisture in though - maybe that's just me! I would not be without this product. Dermaveen always has some special cheap kit to buy - try it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Treatments (Eye) -Weleda - Wildrose Intensive Eyecream
rated 1 of 5
planetofapes 8/8/2009 9:11:00 AM

LIke other reviewers have said - I was completely fooled by the use of the word "intensive". It sucks. It isn't even as emoillent as a standard face cream. Don't waste your money - it stinks. I purchased mine for about $35 Australian - a huge waste of money for something that didn't deliver. I do like other Weleda products. I love the almond oil and intensive face cream. The rose body oil is an absolute winner. But this doesn't work!!

Moisturizers -Weleda - Almond Soothing Facial Cream
rated 5 of 5
planetofapes 8/8/2009 9:03:00 AM

As other reviewers have suggested - this product is not as intensive as you'd think. For me - I have the weird combo of both dry and oily skin. Therefore, my skin is dry but not that dry - it is great in the mornings to give me some much needed moisture under my sunscreen/makeup. At night (it is winter and my skin is super dry) I mix a few drops of the Weleda oil with this and it is perfect. It may seem a bit greasy at first but this disappears by morning. The tube is metal and pretty stupid. Also, it won't last that long (being only 30 ml or 30 gms) so I think I paid about $25 (Australian) so it isn't exactly dirt cheap. But compared to the price of high end products - you can safely say this is pretty damn competitive in price. Weleda has some great products and this is one of them. Try it out if you have dry skin but if you have super dry skin you may want to try something a bit richer. Or, mix it with the oil which is what I do.

Moisturizers -Weleda - Almond Facial Oil
rated 5 of 5

Totally agree with the comment about the packaging - salad oil! Guffaw!! This was easily remedied by decanting into a spray bottle. The spray bottle I got is really excellent (manicare brand) and a small pump dispenses a tiny squirt of this product. It is great to use to remove make up as well. Unfortunately it is the same bright yellow colour as urine but well, whatever! (this becomes obvious when in the clear plastic bottle!) I mix one squirt with the Weleda almond intensive cream - beautiful. I have dry skin durimg winter and this thing has really saved my life. Does break me out if I put too much on - but about a trillion times better than Bio oil which does break me out!! Not too expensive as far as it goes. In Australia I have to buy off ebay to get good price. If you have dry skin, a few drops of this will really help. Nice job Weleda!!

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Kohl in Navy
rated 4 of 5
planetofapes 8/8/2009 1:44:00 AM

Thi is a bitch to put on. When using the "eastern method" just remember to only use the felt tip thin part to put this on. Otherwise, you will stuff it up and look like the world's weirdest panda. I have this in black and brown as well but I like navy the most. I think this is blacker than the black - weird but true. Although it took me a LONG time to learn how to put this on. And then, there is slight migrating (unfortunately) but it isn't too big a deal as it gives a smokiness which I like. This really lasts on the waterline - you will be surprised. Get it on sale BOGOF or something similar and if you can't use it properly - it also makes a nice eyeshadow!

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - New Flat Top Brush
rated 5 of 5
planetofapes 8/8/2009 1:33:00 AM

Well I use about 3-4 of these during the week if I am using MMU. I wash mine after each due as I am paranoid about breaking out (acne prone me!). Well, yes it is $10 but if you get the super custom kit ($50) it will only be $4.16! Fantastic for application of MMU. I seriously love this brush. Would I pay $10 for it? Probably yes. I also own a lot of Ecotools brushes and while they are good they are no where near as good as this brush. Dense, soft, easy to wash with no shedding - get it you won't regret it. I have about 2-3 new ones as back ups - I will not be without this brush for MMU.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shroom
rated 5 of 5
planetofapes 8/4/2009 7:49:00 AM

This is the best base colour hands down. It is a mushroomy beige colour with a slight sheen as opposed to shine. Yes, it looks boring in the pan - but it is a great colour. It ain't cheap in Australia but online shopping at Rock the Catwalk is highly recommended. (That's where I got mine!!) Great work MAC - great work!

Eye Shadow -Ben Nye - Ben Nye Fireworks Fantasy Wheel
rated 3 of 5
planetofapes 7/31/2009 9:52:00 AM

I bought this to use as an eyeshadow base. It looks nice and works okay for that purpose - but just okay and not great. Although this stuff seems quite powdery, it still is quite emollient. When I put my eyeshadow on top, it looks good but it creases and is looks weird cos the creases will contain the Ben Nye colour and the rest of the eye is the eyeshadow. This SUCKS IMO and not the reason I got it. Yep, it is cheaper but stick to MAC paintpots, cream colour base or paints. Yep - more expensive but there is a reason for that people!!! It is a better product. I do like this product though and it is a lot cheaper than MAC. I haven't used this product as a highlighter or anything.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rated 1 of 5
planetofapes 7/31/2009 9:41:00 AM

Well, I guess it works but for me, this is cakey. No, it isn't because I am using too much. It is because I use mineral makeup or else foundation and powder and then put on the primer. It mixes with the powder (this stuff dries out fast) and your eyelids go a bit cakey. I always use a cream base under my makeup anyway for longevity and basically - to have something for the eyeshadow to adhere to. I prefer to use MAC paintpots (try painterly or for a hint of shimmer bare study) in lots of different colours, creme color base or MAC paints. Personally, the MAC products are a thousand times better value and work better for me. The primer potion's bottle is also super annoying and a real waste of money. Why should I got to all the trouble of cutting up my bottle cos the design of the bottle is so stupid? Nah, Urban Decay you have to work harder than that to get my $$$. Your 24/7 eyeliners are great though! hehehe

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
rated 5 of 5
planetofapes 7/31/2009 9:35:00 AM

I gave 3 for packaging - but you know there is no packaging. Holy crap - who knew about this stuff working? Leaves your face like baby's ass!! Soft, even and for some strange reason - whiter?? Has anyone else noticed this...? I use soluable aspirin and honey. I really like this combo and use it 3 times a week. I am seriously addicted to this stuff. My skin looks smoother, younger and so cheap a complete joke!! Thank you to all the MUA peeps out there... if it wasn't for you guys I would never have known about this product.
