Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - studio secrets - anti shine mattifying

This is overall the favourite primer I have tried. It does a good job at smoothing lines and pores creating a good base for my foundation. I also feel my make up stays on for longer with this. In regards to mattifying, it does not completely do the job however having combination skin I'd imagine it doesn't assist the process. Overall I have seen a noticeable reduction in shine but by no means a complete change. While I appreciate the pump the fluid is actually really thick and it can be hard to get a good sized amount of product in one pump it usually takes 2-3 for a full face. The price is quite good value especially when on special. I would most likely repurchase this again but will still look into other options.

Primer/ Corrector -Almay - Smart Shade Perfect & Correct Primer

I loved the eye catching colours within the primer and curious to see how the colours could help cover redness. I did not see a real difference in my skin using this primer and actually felt it created more lines on my forehead then it actually smoothed which is a major problem to me. As far as long wearing, I didnt see any improvements. I used this for about 2 weeks before moving onto another one. I wouldn't consider repurchasing this.

Concealers -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles

I really enjoy this concealer. It would have to be my favourite drugstore concealer. It does a great job of brightening and concealing my under eye area where i have to most problems. It is not 100% coverage but it does about an 85% coverage in my opinion so definitely worth the money compared with high end concealers which don't even achieve that. The major plus is the coverage and the price. The cons would have to be the shade limitations and packaging. The first one I had broke about 2/3's of the way through and if not for the concealer itself i wouldn't have bothered trying again. You just need to take a lot of care when handling it and so far I haven't had another one break. The sponge applicator is also useless. With the shades here in Australia the darkest is medium and as a tan Caucasian while it looks fine in person it often too light in photos which isn't the look I am going for. Overall I will happily repurchase this until I find something which is perfect.

Brows -Maybelline - Master Shape

I find very few things to like about this brow crayon/pencil whatever it is. To start with a positive, the colour deep brown is nice....... and well thats all I can say good about it. Using this to fill in my brows was horrible. My brows are naturally quite full and only some slight areas need touching to make them match. But this did nothing to help. Its hard to apply and looks very unnatural. You have to be very careful with the amount of pressure you use because press too hard and next thing you know it is completely blunt. And then you dont just wind it up for more, you have to sharpen the thing when its made of a wax texture. Not worth the effort. While it is a cheap product at $11(AU) this mess is not even worth $5! Going to throw it out and throw in a bit more money for something actually usable.

Concealers -Rimmel - Match Perfection Concealer

This concealer is much better than the Match Perfection foundation it is paired with. It is probably my favourite cheap/drugstore concealer and I have been repurchasing again and again. The texture is creamy and easy to apply and leaves the skin luminous but still natural. It doesnt eliminate my under eye bags but it definitely does a good job of helping. I dont use the mini brush type applicator it comes with and just squeeze out onto my hand and apply from there. I wear this usually to work or on less important days when my bags are not too severe. Not many colour options but I find the medium shade of the 3 is easy to work with my skin tone whether it is more tanned or lighter.

Concealers -Laura Mercier - Secret Concealer

This is by far the best concealer I have tried. The coverage is perfect on both spots and especially the under eye area. My eye bags are hereditary and HUGE! It is so hard to find a concealer which does the job of covering them up. This does not eliminate them 100% like a miracle but pretty close. I used to still get comments about how tired I look when using previous concealers but when I wear this no one tells me I look tired and I've even been complimented about how fresh my face looks. The texture is creamy and easy to apply and doesnt cake up under the eyes or crease. I am so thankful to have found this and will continue to purchase again and again. It is a high end make up product, which I try to avoid sticking to a working students budget but I will happily pay the $35(AU) for this concealer because it does such an amazing job and while the pot looks small it lasts a good amount of time.

Liquid -Rimmel - Match Perfection

This has to be one of my least favourite foundations I've tried. While the coverage was fairly good for covering spots or redness it did nothing for my undereye area. The foundation felt very heavy on my skin and didn't leave a natural looking finish. I tried applying it with a sponge, traditional foundation brush and with hands. Worked the best with hands but still left a streaky finish. I used the shade 'pure beige' and it seemed to have an orange tone to it. I used it for a week, kept it in my collection for about 2 months, gave it another try but then threw it with barely any used at all. Waste of money.

Crème -Maybelline - Dream Smooth Mousse

Best foundation I have ever tried. Amazing coverage, easy to blend for a natural look or build up on spots and under eye bags. Leaves the skin looking clear and luminous but not too shiny. Also coverage lasts a very long time, have fallen asleep still wearing this on ocassion and still wake up with my skin looking much better than usual and a fairly decent amount still on. The texture is also nice and creamy and easy to apply using a sponge. 'Natural beige' is the perfect colour for my fake tanned skin with cool undertones which has been complicated for me to find in the past. I buy this on ebay for $10(AU) since I havent been able to find it in stores here in Australia but dont mind since it is an absolute bargain. Will continue to purchase this again and again as no other foundation has left me so satisfied with the results. However, would likely not suggest this for dry skin as I get dry patches in winter around my mouth and jaw and it generally tends to cake up noticeably but still not too extreme. But all other skin types must try this!
