This is a light, fresh grassy citrus scent. I expected to like it based on some descriptions I had been reading, but not love it as much as I did. I admit that I also bought it because I liked the bottle. I got my first bottle last summer because I was looking for something light and fresh for the summer. This scent accidentally has become almost a signature scent and it works very well on my skin - it dries down to an almost warm, citrusy floral that I get a ton of compliments on. However, the opening burst is very grassy and green - which I like, but that's certainly not for everyone. The dry down is more pretty than the opening. :) The only problem with this scent I have is the lasting power. It certainly isn't as bad as some fragrances I've tried, but due to the lightness, it doesn't last quite all day the way a Chanel does. I end up re-applying after being outside in the summer as well. I have a second bottle but I'm trying to wear some of my other perfumes to give this one a break - it's actually hard.

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Surf Spray
rated 4 of 5

I really love this product but I have to say it is expensive. I use a lot of this product to get sexy "bedhead" hair. I use it on wet hair or damp hair, I have not tried it on dry hair yet. This gives me lots of volume and defines my natural wave. It can get sticky or unmanaged if you use too much product. It took me a few times to find the right number of sprays for my thick hair. Another issue I have with this spray is if I accidentally spray this on anything or get some on my face, I do noticed stickiness.

Shampoo -Frederic Fekkai - Technician® Color Care Shampoo
rated 3 of 5

I like that this shampoo protects my color but it is a little heavy. I have super thick, medium wavy hair and while I love how this shampoo moisturizes my hair using the shampoo and conditioner together weight my hair down too much. Then, I have issues with my hair getting greasy quickly and I don' tike to wash everyday to keep the color vibrant. I love the smell of this shampoo though. Like many other high end and color-care shampoos, there is less sud than normal. This is probably due to a lack of sulfates - which fade color more quickly. For me, this shampoo is heavy enough to use without a conditioner and I can get away with just shampooing and putting on a leave in conditioner or ends treatment like the Fekkai Glossing Cream.

Masks -Yes To Carrots - Yes to Cucumbers-Calm Care Smoothing Facial Mask
rated 3 of 5
pixelprincess 2/7/2012 2:04:00 PM

The only packaging complaint I have is that it looks like you are getting much more product than the tub contains. For that, it seems a little pricey for a drugstore purchase. However, my jar has lasted two months now with semi-regular use so this may not be so bad. It's a normal clay-mud mask. You pretty much just let it dry and wipe it off. After using my skin usually looks brighter and the pores appear smaller. I assume this is because the mask is exfoliating and pulls stuff out of my pores (so they then appear smaller). When I first started using this mask I noticed a little redness or stinging and I feel like I may have accidentally left it on longer than I intended? I am always careful when using this not to leave it on until it becomes painfully dry. Also, I noticed the first few times I used the mask I broke out in tiny blemishes afterwards but with regular use this has not been an issue. I use this mask twice a week or so. I would recommend this for anyone with oily skin looking for a good mask to clean things up and deep clean the skin.

Cleansers -Yes To Carrots - Yes To Cucumbers Face Cleanser Towelettes
rated 3 of 5
pixelprincess 2/7/2012 1:44:00 PM

I use these for travel and keep some at friend's places where I am likely to spend the night spontaneously. They are reasonably priced for that though I would not use them on a regular daily basis. They do sting a little, but never leave my face red. They seem to take off my makeup fairly well - even eye makeup (not sure if you're supposed to do that though). I like them and never have to scrub to get anything off. Also, I have oil skin so it's a must that I wash my face before bedtime. Generally, I hate packaging on these kind of products but the top on these cloths seems to keep them reasonably moist inside even without daily use.

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Sweet Mint
rated 4 of 5
pixelprincess 2/7/2012 1:22:00 PM

I love this lip balm. It is a waxy substance that sits on my lips and protects them from cold and wind. The balm is very scented and tastes okay (well, I haven't eaten it but I don't notice anything gross on my lips either). I use this in combination with Nivea (for moisture) and it keeps my lips soft even in the winter. The packaging is cute and allows you to use all of the product. Once you have worn down the ball, you can actually use your finger to finish the balm off. For me, this has made the product really cost effective since even with daily use my first one lasted over six months. Plus, the little ball looks cute on my desk and is easy to find in my bag.

Skincare - Body -Bliss Labs - Ingrown Hair Eliminating Pads
rated 4 of 5
pixelprincess 2/7/2012 1:14:00 PM

I wax everywhere so these are a must. I use them on my underarms and bikini line regularly but also on my legs when I have an ingrown. They work like a charm and are best to prevent ingrown hairs. This combined with regular exfoliation keeps the ingrown hairs at bay - but these pads sting a little and can be a little irritating on my under arms sometimes.

Hair Removal -Nair - 15-Second Microwave Wax
rated 4 of 5
pixelprincess 2/7/2012 1:07:00 PM

I use this product for my bikini area. I have been mostly successful with it, the consistency seems to get just right though I have had to re-heat it a few times during waxing. It's important to keep it at the right temperature. I think this wax is pretty easy to use, but I will admit that sometimes I do have to go back over an area.

Hair Removal -Sally Hansen - Simple Spa Wax Warmer Kit
rated 1 of 5
pixelprincess 2/7/2012 12:57:00 PM

This was the worst and messiest home wax kit I've ever used. I am pretty good at waxing and have used a bunch of other at home waxes and never had one that was this messy. There were some problems with the heating device, but once I pressed the pot firmly into it that was fine. However, that did not stop the wax from being way too runny and getting everywhere. Then, to top it off, this wax did NOT stand up to the coarse hair on my legs or bikini line. I have used a hard wax like this before (Parissa, and a few other brands) and had much better results. So overall, this was just the worst. It hurt, didn't work, and made a huge mess.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - salon effects
rated 3 of 5
pixelprincess 2/7/2012 12:46:00 PM

I really liked this product: I got the pink sparkly one. I wanted it because I love sparkly nails but I have the way glitter polishes damage your nails and are so difficult to get off. However, I also got a broken nail way above the white part of the nail so I was looking for something to "hold" my nails together. This seems to be working well for me on that (combined with some nail glue). I love the way these look. Anyway, this was my first time using it and my technique for application definitely needs some work. I think once you get the hang of it things will go better. Since this was the first time I has some immediate chipping on the ends and a few days out some near the cuticles (where I accidentally went over onto the cuticle with the strip). I am sure this would not have happened if I had used the cuticle stick to "seal" the strip onto my nail. I did not swipe my nails with NP remover immediately before applying because I had just removed nail polish before I cleaned up my cuticles and hadn't washed or added anything to my hands - so I did also skip that step. Overall, I am happy with the results but I think they are a little expensive since there's only one manicure per-box. To me, this does not compete with my own weekly DIY manicures and pedis at home - even with my expensive nail polish since cost per wear is less. But, for a novelty thing or a special occasion they're awesome. (Still cheaper than the salon.)

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Instant Cuticle Remover
rated 4 of 5
pixelprincess 2/7/2012 12:39:00 PM

I use this product semi-regularly to keep my cuticles cleaned up. I never had a real issue with cuticles until recently. I regularly push them back but it stopped helping. This stuff has helped me keep them cleaner and more smooth making my DIY manicures much easier. It's been an amazing improvement on my toes as well. I love this stuff.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Parissa Azulene Oil
rated 4 of 5
pixelprincess 2/7/2012 12:36:00 PM

I'm not sure if this product makes the hair grow in finer or it's just the repeated waxing but my hair has become much finer after using this and waxing for a few months. However, I like it because it cleans off the left over wax and makes my skin feel so smooth. It does seem to help calm it down after a wax.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Parissa Wax Strips Legs and Body
rated 5 of 5
pixelprincess 2/7/2012 12:34:00 PM

I love these strips - but I admit it takes some skill to get used to it. First, you need to make sure you warm the strips up by rubbing them in your hands. (I always have cold hands and tend to run my hands under warm water first.) The warmer the wax is, the more hair it takes off has been my experience. In the winter time, I wax after the shower - I say in the bathroom and dry off when wax because my skin is still warm. I get quite a few re-uses out of these strips, but only fresh ones pick up super-fine hairs. Also, it's important to exfoliate properly before waxing to pick up the most hair. You will see if you did not because you'll be able to see the dead skin on the strips. Another thing you can do is put powder over your skin: this will help with hair pickup but you won't be able to re-use the strips. Generally I can do my legs with half a box. These are not tough enough for my bikini line but I have used them to wax my underarms. Another good point about these strips is the plastic strips rather than waxed paper or other rip-able strips. I have never had an issue with these strips.

Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Veet wax strips
rated 4 of 5
pixelprincess 2/7/2012 12:25:00 PM

These are a good drug store brand. I like that they pick up even the fine hairs - I use them for my under arms because I am so pale. The only issue I really have with these are that I have occasionally ripped a few. Also, they do not work as well on coarse thick hair (like hair on my legs and bikini line). However, you can can usually get a few passes out of each strip, the thicker your hair the less re-uses you'll get. Overall, I think this is the best value of the drugstore brands.

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Glossing Cream with Olive Oil
rated 4 of 5
pixelprincess 2/7/2012 12:05:00 PM

I have thick medium-dry wavy hair and this product helps weigh down my frizzy top layers and control the dryness even in the dead of winter. I first experimented with this product in the summer and it seemed to help with the drying from the pool as well. In general, I add this product about midway though the length of my hair because that's where I have the most trouble with dryness and it acts as a leave in conditioner. Then, I take what's left of it and smooth out the top layer to smooth out any lingering fly aways.
