Can you believe it.... Needless Markup is the only place that sells this in the D.C. area, and they were OUT OF STOCK of my color (Fawn). That floored me. But my impression of the foundation is that it is very thick and gloppy.I have a sample I have been using... its a very dense and oily makeup. In my opinion, the coverage is more full than light, It covers everything. Looks beautiful, but I really don['t want anything this gloppy.and thick. Looks v3ery dewy, which can segue into oily. Color (fawn) very yellow, and I am more of a balance between yellow and pink. A good expensive makeup to put into my rotation.
The Lexus of liquid makeups. Smells a lot like alcohol but doesn['t seem to dry out my skin (which is very dry). The color is great, coverage is great..... and you can make it heavier or lighter. Lasts all day with a minor fix for oiliness midday.... (not serious, just a little). Love this makeup, after having used powder mineral stuff for years.

I have been searching for a moderately priced natural or organic skin care line that doesn['t annoy my skin. Well, here it is. This cleanser smells pleasant, cleans my face thoroughly and I have had no allergy problems with it.

A great conditioner to use with the no poo. Leaves my hair CONDITIONED as it hasn't been for a long, long time. Washes out easily. I put a teensy bit of this on my wet hair before blowing dry.
Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - DevaCare No Poo No fade Zero Lather Cleanser

If you are into "no poo" this is a great "shampoo". If you have been using regular shampoo for a long time, this will require an adjustment time to get good results. I had been using Wen and Sally'[s Hair One for quite a while, so the adjustment to this was very easy. This leaves my long, wavy tangled hair very untangled. Cleans so well I can go for a week if necessary without washing it again. Leaves my hair shiny and soft and detangled. Must use with the "One Condition' for best results.
BB Cream -L'Oreal - Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream

This is my 2nd BB cream, the other one being Korean. This mattifies the face, and comes out of the tube WHITE.... it then oxidizes to a skin color. It's easy to apply with a foundation brush, sort of buffing with my fingers. It's light coverage. I can't tell I have it on and yet it covers up most of my dark circles under my eyes and any reddness. I end up with a complexion that looks perfect - no discoloration! You don't need much - a little bit does the job. It has been helpful for me in the hottest summer we have had in Washington for quite a while - yes, it really does mattify and when oil does finally seep through it, it's fine, stays a good color, etc. Had to retouch yesterday in the midst of horrible humidity, but just barely. I generally avoid drug store cosmetics, but I have to say this was a pleasant surprise.
Some of Tom Ford's perfumes are just awful to my note. I hate the tobacco and leather scents. But this is something different. Generally, I like nice feminine florals -- like Paris by Yves st. Laurent. This is NOT a floral, but a soft, sort of spicy scent. Very hard to describe. It almost seems floral but is spicy enought o save it from that label. It is very soft and feminine. It's one of those scents you just have to try yourself in order to define it.
Hands down the best lipstick I have ever purchased.....and for the price, it should be. This is a true coral color - bright but not neon. Lights up my face, and with any reasonably matching blush, I look fantastic. Can be paired with a dark or lighter lip liner for different looks. Takes a long time to fade, and fades into a nice stain. Will stay on through eating, drinking. The texxture is creamy but not too creamy, moisturiZing yet not slippery-slidey like a gloss. At $45.00 a hit, I am a completely satisfied customer. You go, Tom Ford!!!!! You rock!!!
Hair -Wen by Chaz Dean - Pomegranate Cleansing Conditioner

My hair was fried from several of my hairdressers "projects" to lighten my medium brown hair. The ends were like a stiff hairbrush. This stuff brought my hair back to life -- literally!!!! One thing - I have noticed that some people don't like it ....I would suggest that this stuff takes a lot of patience to use. I have to rinse my hair first for about 2 minutes, then put the stuff in and massage for about 2 minutes, go about the rest of my shower, then get back to my hair and rinse out for at leat 2 minutes. My hair is perfect and soft and conditioned every time. And get this - I have hair down to the middle of my back and I no longer have to use ANYTHING on it aside from the Wen, to make it look good and feel good. I don't even use my HG Morroccan oil any more! Don't use any mousse or sprays, nuttin;' honey......... And my hair is fabulous!! Thanks, Chaz Dean!!!!

Lash of Mascara is definitely a step up from Dior and YSL. It gives me wonderful lashes instead of "OMG, did I put on mascara today" or even "OMG, TARANTULA lashes." Priced right for me, no drips, splashes or smears and it comes off easily. And it's mineral!
HG Lip gloss, except it's in a class all its own. I am tired of gloppy, greasy lip glosses. This, on the other hand, is a gel, a clear pink gel. It doesn't take much to impart some "gloss" and once I put it on, it didn't take my lipstick off like other glosses do. Also, a great side benefit for women who wear "lip tints" like Liptini lip tints, it works perfectly with these tints.
Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - LAVANILA HEALTHY DEODORANT - vanilla lavender
pinkydinkydo 4/11/2010 10:01:00 AM
I know it's a deodorant, and so my expectations were ONLY that I would not smell sweaty. Too bad. I smelled worse than I have in a long time - I have been using mineral spray deodorant and IT WORKS. I never smell funky. Too bad. $18 down the hole.
If you don't like lipsticks because they are too heavy, but lip glosses aren't a good alternative because they do NOT stay on, this is probably the product for you. It's a LIP TINT, which means that it stains the lips, not coats them. I love all of these tints, and I think they are perfect for weekends or work as a simpler makeup look alternative. To make the tint last longer Aromaleigh has a lip and eye base that will hold the color for quite a long time. But even after the initial deposit is worn off, a tint still remains on the lips. That's what's nice about it. Light but lasting in its own way. They do seem to plump my lips a bit, and they do have some essential oils in them (which I do not particularly care for in any product). A good buy in my book!
Let me begin by saying Poppy was a really happy find for me. I love her products! Chase is what I would characterize as a "bright".... no, not too bright, but definitely not muted or matte. It's a medium pink with some coral-ish undertones. Beautiful for Spring, and great on people who can wear brighter colors. The color stays on a couple of hours, and leaves behind a tint ....and it's easy to use. The texture is a little on the glossy side but definitely not drippy or oily/runny.
What a surprise.....a hair dryer that actually DOES make my hair curl. Shocking. I bought this on a "well, I'll try it and see" whim, thinking I would have to return it. Ha. Could not find it in any stores, so had to order online. The dryer has a sort of little tunnel with two open ends attached to it. Putting a small amount of hair into one end, the dryer actually twists it and give me a "beach curl" wave look. I should note that my hair is down to my bra in the back, so it's pretty long. And this works on it. I don't think length of hair is a huge factor, but it may be somewhat of a factor. I don't use much stuff on my hair, just some Allafia shea butter leave-on treatment and Peter Lamas mousse -- and it worked perfectly with the dryer. The instructions say "one inch pieces of hair" but I could easily but somewhat larger pieces into the tunnel. And I found that if I did the top layer I really didn't need to do too much with the underneath part of my hair. This is beyond HG status -- if you want "beach curls" this is IT......!!!!!
