Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Waterproof
rated 4 of 5
pinksugaraddict 4/24/2010 11:09:00 PM

This mascara is my HG! It makes my short, thin lashes longer and thicker. Many complain about the big brush but I think it's something people have to get used to. At first, I disliked how it clumped but I realized that after an application of the mascara, once I brushed it through with a clean mascara spoolie, my lashes were really nice! The only downfall of this product for me is that it is TOO waterproof! It takes a lot of effort to get this mascara off, but I suppose it's worth it for the results you get!

Treatments -Clairol - Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Leave-In

I gave 1 star for the scent and another star just because it KIND of works but not really. When I pumped the product out of the container, it was very thick and was hard to spread throughout my ends. So I put a few drops into my hands along with the leave-in conditioner then it started to get a little bubbly..? Also, since I tried this on dry hair, my hair felt so disgusting and turned out so greasy! The next time I tried it, I decided to use it on damp hair. I put a tiny bit into my fingers (about half a penny) and it was a bit easier to work through my ends but still made my hair feel icky. When my hair dried, it just felt coated with product and there was very minimal conditioning. Plus it made the back of my neck feel covered with grease & my neck is never oily (if it's even possible for people's necks to get oily). I still continue to use this sometimes but only for the scent. I put a barely there amount because I feel this is just so concentrated (?) Won't repurchase.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete with SPF 15 Lotion
rated 3 of 5

This lotion made my face feel very greasy. I'm not sure if it was because I got the wrong one for my face type? (I got the one in "Normal") but whenever I put this on, even with a small amount, I felt like this lotion was clogging my pores and making a layer of butter (or something...) on top of my face. I like Olay's Beauty Fluid so much better than this! However, it could be because I chose the wrong lotion type...I'm not sure. I might edit this review later if I happen to find this lotion that suits my skin. But as of now, I want to finish up my Active Beauty Fluid (?). I think you all should check it out :]

Moisturizers -Olay - Active Hydrating Beauty Fluid - Original
rated 5 of 5
pinksugaraddict 1/24/2009 2:44:00 AM

I've been using this for 2 weeks and my skin has been improving! I've had less acne and my pores have decreased in size. Also, this lotion dries quickly without a greasy feeling (as it claims, i believe..) unlike the Olay Complete All Day Moisture Lotion and although it dries quickly, my face is so much smoother/soft!

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Honey Lip Balm
rated 3 of 5
pinksugaraddict 11/8/2008 10:24:00 PM

This works but the smell takes away all the good properties for me. It's a stinky kind of smell, not like honey at all! Will not repurchase. EDIT: after using this for a few more days (because i hate to waste plus it has no petroleum), the scent does not really bother me anymore. so i bumped it up a lippie from 2 to 3. when i bought this i could smell it without opening it so i wouldn't wear this in public but it has made my lips much more moisturized. however i'm still not sure about repurchasing. plus like another reviewer said, no spf! eek. also, i looked in the ingredients and idk if they meant for it to taste/ smell/ whatever like honey but it's the second to last ingredient in this product. that means it barely has any honey! i find that somewhat misleading but that might just be me.

Toners -Neutrogena - Alcohol-Free Toner
rated 5 of 5
pinksugaraddict 11/1/2008 6:44:00 PM

this is my first toner i've ever used and i love it! the scent is very pleasant & it leaves my face feeling refreshed. also, after wiping it onto my face, i see brown colored stuff on my cotton round (i don't wear skin makeup like foundation/ concealer/ etc.)! so that just proves that this really works! (or my cleanser isn't working o_o;) lol but anyway i also like how i can feel my skin tighten slightly ^^; which leads me to this: people with super dry skin, beware! this might cause your skin to flake and cause skin irritation (that's what happened with my brother).

Hair Color -Garnier - Nutrisse Nourishing Color Creme in 535 Medium Golden Mahogany Brown
rated 5 of 5
pinksugaraddict 9/23/2008 5:56:00 PM

Price: (about) $7.49 BACKGROUND INFO: 1st time i've dyed my hair- i got it bleached, dyed brown & got golden highlights in one session (professionally). my hair was very damaged at this point. 2nd time- (5 months later) i was tired of seeing my roots grow in (my hair's naturally black that gets lightened by the sun to a dark brown) so i just dyed it "dark brown" (or as i found out later, pitch black) with some japanese hair dye. that gave very little damage however, the tips of my hair were light brown from the bleach. so yesterday (or the 3rd time), i dyed my hair again because i hated how dark my hair still was (it didn't get lightened to brown). so i resorted to garnier nutrisse based on the positive reviews. in the store, i couldn't decide what color to get. i wanted either a burugndy-brown or a lightish brown color (not too light) and the burgundy looked to "fake" for me, so i got chocolate caramel. the picture on the box was very light brown (for me anyway) but since i didn't wanna bleach my hair again, i bought it immediately before i could turn back. i followed the directions on the box, (btw, the fruit oil concentrate smells absolutely DELICIOUS!) then my mom helped apply the hair dye. even though it said leave it in for 25-30 minutes, i left it in for around 45-50 minutes, just in case the color wouldn't show up (because several friends & online searchings told me black hair doesn't get lighter unless you stripe the color/bleach it.) after that, i rinsed out all the color, then put the tiniest bit of shampoo, worked that through my hair, then used to avocado conditioner. that, i must say, is FABULOUS! it wasn't very thick but when i blowdryed my hair (because i was too impatient to wait to see what color it'd turn out), it made my hair really soft and shiny! it didn't look damaged at all and was really pretty! plus, based on the previous times i've had my hair dyed, this smelled the best. even though the scent lingers, it doesn't make me nauseous like the time i had it done professionally in a salon. the color ended up an orangey-brown but more towards the brown side and it's not extremely obvious and i've gotten compliments so far of how soft it looks and about the color! therefore, i recommend this hairdye :] it smells nice, the avocado conditioner is great (i think other people commented that they should make them individually, i agree) and the color is nice so far :] oh yeah, and it's CHEAP! (cheaper than l'oreal as well). if there's any signs of fading however, i'll edit this post! but as of now, 5/5!

Hair Styling Tools -GHD - Original GHD Hairstyling Iron with Ceramic Technology
rated 5 of 5
pinksugaraddict 8/29/2008 11:36:00 PM

i bought this at sephora about 2 hours ago & i'm a bit undecided about this product. i wanted to buy the ghd mk4 but they didn't carry the new version & because i can't buy it online, i decided to buy the mk3. NOTE: i haven't tried anything in between a conair flat iron to this original ghd flat iron so i don't really know what to compare it to (which means i haven't tried chi, sedu, solia, hai, fhi, cricket, wigo, etc). MY HAIR TYPE: > BEFORE- -all one length (10 inches past shoulder) -thick & straight -very healthy hair -couple split ends from not being cut -(i didn't use any heat tools) > NOW- -very layered (3 inches past) -flips outwards/inwards at random -sometimes waves after waking up -very dry & many split ends -(used conair flat iron for a long time) REASON: to straighten & especially to curl/wave my hair. MY EXPERIENCE: > STRAIGHT- it took me literally 10 minutes trying to figure out how to turn on the iron which i realized you have to press reset, test, then reset again & leave it like that to turn on. it heated up very fast. this did not snag my hair and ran smoothly, unlike my conair one because before, i could feel it pulling at my hair. although i glided this through my hair too fast because i was so excited, it still left my hair really straight. when i finished, i am glad to say it was pin straight with movement. the bad part was that it left some crimp marks & i could see little bits of my hair at the end sticking out (split ends? frizz?) > CURLY- after straightening my hair, i jumped to the curling part because i really wanted to see if it worked. i sectioned my hair again & started on the bottom area. i grabbed a big piece and unfortunately, it just came out straight. then i tried a smaller piece and voila! a curl! i tried again with another piece and i glided it through my hair too quickly which made it a very loose wave so i really suggest being patient and pulling your iron down slowly to get the results you want. when i was finished, i found a few more crimp marks. TOTAL TIME: 5 minutes for straightening/curling. OVERALL: > PRO- -heated up in seconds -straightened/curled my hair fast & efficiently >CONS- -crimp marks -made split ends/frizz/whatever-it-is very prominent -steam (feels like i'm watching this cause damage.) -no auto-off = potential fire hazard don't forget to use a heat protecting spray/cream/etc!

Hair Styling Tools -Conair - Professional Straightening Iron
rated 1 of 5
pinksugaraddict 8/28/2008 10:29:00 PM

i absolutely hate this & conair! this is my first ever iron & after about 6 months, my hair was getting split ends and smelled "burnt" & even with the use of a hair protecting spray, the smell of that just fused with the "burnt" smell and made me feel sick. it's been about 2 years since i first purchased & it still works, but it's not as "effective". this made my hair really dry & even with deep conditioners & oil treatments, my hair is not the same! even with every other monthly hair trims, i still see split ends! i suggest you all to NEVER buy not only this, but any cheap hair tools. i really think that you should all save this type of hair trouble & buy a high quality hair tool instead because even if you think you're saving money, you'll just be wasting $20-40 & more to repair the hair damage it caused you. i'm currently on the search for my next flat iron & i think i'm gnna try a ghd. that's a really big gap, price wise & probably quality wise but this is a risk i'm willing to take because i never want to experience anything like this again!

Lips -C.O. Bigelow - Mentha Lip Balm Stick
rated 4 of 5
pinksugaraddict 8/28/2008 9:53:00 PM

the outer appearance of this lip balm, as you can see in the picture, is black with white font, and the little green strip that i guess has this code for what color it is..? i'm not exactly sure but the balm itself is white. anywho, i think the tube is rather chic, in comparison to the plain ol' jane cherry chapstick plastic cover. (: when putting this balm on, it made my lips feel very moisturized. however, after frequent use of this balm for a few months, it's starting to coat my lips with a "white gunk" as gogo462 said. it also has this "sheen" on it too. so i usually have to rub it in with my finger. sometimes, the "white gunk" look doesn't really go away until a few minutes later but it's really annoying to me, nonetheless. however, the mint feeling is there, along with the tingling sensation...although when looking at the ingredients, it said something like "peppermint oil & other natural flavors". i don't like the "natural flavors" bit at all! that might just be me though. so i try to forget about it and just let the cool feeling take over my senses. AHA jk. & even though the "mint" part doesn't last, you can still taste this sugary stuff left behind. another bonus for me, and most likely you, is that..it contains no petroleum/petrolatum/whatever-um! yay! i suppose it's similar to burt's bees as in they both contain beeswax..? this also contains shea butter so that's good too. so overall, the downsides are the white parts left on your lips & another thing is the price. i mean, $7.50!? that's ridiculous. even with the 3 for $15 sale @ b&bw is still a lot. but i think the sales are pretty frequent because last sept, my brother bought me the mentha glosses 3/$15 & then this june i bought the lip balm & 2 other things 3/$15. so i guess if you're okay for the $15 thing, then check out b&bw fo sho :] random note: i personally haven't tried burts bees but it seems to me that some people are choosing bb's over this..? so i guess i'll be trying that out just to see if its better because it's also cheaper.

Lip Gloss -Bath and Body Works - Tutti Dolci-Creme Brulee Lip Gloss [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
pinksugaraddict 8/26/2008 9:18:00 PM

OH MY GOSH i miss this so much! i bought this around 3 years ago? & i hate myself for losing it! right when i lost it, i was like "grr, this was $10!! i'll just buy another one, i guess" because i'm sucha cheapskate but when i went to b&bw asap after losing it, i couldn't find it! then i asked the saleslady and she said they don't sell them anymore. i was so upset! i love sweet things and sweet smelling things so i was absolutely in love with this. however i will admit i did lick this to see if it tastes as delicious as it smelled and it tasted HORRIBLE! also, the color was a bit too light pink for me. on the upside, the packaging was cute. & even though i thought this lipgloss was too costly (like i said, cheapskate), if i could turn back time, i'd buy 10 tubes of this stuff or something ): i would love to buy this from ebay/etc. but i just can't trust internet deals..especially makeup & ESPECIALLY things that involve going near my mouth.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Love Spell
rated 4 of 5
pinksugaraddict 8/26/2008 9:04:00 PM

this smells really nice. before, i bought the shower gel & body lotion and it made the scent last. the only thing that made me stop using this is that all of a sudden, so many girls in my school started using this and everywhere i went, i felt nauseous. but now, i don't smell it AS often so i might repurchase in the future and i would only use it sometimes instead of everyday like before. **EDIT** I absolutely abhor this scent now. It just makes me feel sick. It smells too fruity and cheap.

i personally haven't tried this but i've smelled it on my godmom. i'm not sure if she doused herself with this or what, but all i know is that this REEKS. the scent is extremely overpowering and right when me & her were going to the airport to go to france, wow, i threw up everywhere. we ended up missing the flight. bad memories. however, i must hand it to christian dior that this bottle is adorable.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 85
rated 4 of 5
pinksugaraddict 8/26/2008 8:23:00 PM

i like this but then most of the time, i'm worried if the sunscreen is actually on me or not. this is so sheer it dries within application (at least for me) so i guess that is good because i hate the really greasy feeling of most sunblocks. however, i keep thinking i need to keep reapplying! the scent is much better than banana boat and fades and this does NOT make me breakout! (: the only thing i really don't like about this is that for a small tube (3.0 oz), you have to pay around $12! this isn't as expensive as shiseido, but for me, i'd like it much better if the max. price for this was $7.

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion SPF 55 PA+++ [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
pinksugaraddict 8/26/2008 8:15:00 PM

i love this sunscreen! it absorbs quickly without the greasy feeling & i find the scent much better than the coconut-ish sunscreen scents, although it does not last but that doesn't bother me! the downside for this is that this quite expensive for sunscreen (minus 1 lippie) so i might have to think about repurchasing...
