I bought this because I'm a sucker for new mascaras, and I haven't found my HG, so I'm still on the search. This was not it. I loved the red and black packaging, and the fact that the tube is squared & not round. It's a normal brush, not one of those plastic ones, and it's a square as well. The first thing I noticed was that the bristles are father apart than I'm used to, which is why I think the product doesn't get all clumped in the tube, which is a plus. Unfortunately this mascara did nothing for my lashes. It essentially just coated them in color. It's a lengthening mascara, so there was no volume, but I really didn't notice much length either. It's a normal drugstore price, about $7, but there are much better drugstore mascaras out there--like Lashblast. I will not be repurchasing.
This is my favorite blush of all time! It looks like a scary bright pink with shimmer in the package, but the intensity can be built up or down. If you use a light hand, it gives a nice pink glow, or you can build it up to a bright flush. It does have shimmer, but not overly so & it lasts all day long. In the over all scheme of products, it's mid-priced, but MAC is a bit high for my range, so I only purchase a few items here and there. But when I run out of Dollymix, I will repurchase!
Eyeliner -Jordana - Color XTend Eyeliner in Morning Coffee [DISCONTINUED]
pinklady7 12/20/2008 7:32:00 PM
I read about this liner in Allure and on other websites. I really wanted to try it because of all the rave reviews but could never find it. No where around me sold Jordana. I happened to be in the dollar store today, and lo and behold, found this eyeliner. Now that I've read on here that it's been discontinued I plan on going back to buy a few more. It goes on so creamy & smooth--without any tugging on the skin at all. It's a nice black-brown color; great for everyday wear. Go check your local Yankee One Dollar stores!
Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - HIP Jelly Balm [DISCONTINUED]
pinklady7 11/29/2008 10:38:00 PM
I bought this in the color Plush, which is a gorgeous light pink. I wanted to try this product because I heard it was a dupe of MAC tendertones. I can't vouch for whether it is or not because I haven't tried the tendertones, but the Jelly Balm is a great product! First off the smell is amazing!!! It's like a vanilly/candy scent, which I find myself sniffing throughout the day..lol. It's around 8 or 9 dollars, which is why I gave I took off a lippy for price because it's a little expensive to me. But it won't deter me from buying another one once this runs out. This gives a beautiful light pink gloss to the lips. It's not sticky at all. I apply with a brush because I never know where to wipe the product off when I use my fingers..lol. I recommend everyone try one of these because they are pretty, go on smoothy, and leave a nice glossy finish.
Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Carbon Black Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner
pinklady7 11/29/2008 10:30:00 PM
I stopped using any form of liquid eyeliner about a year ago because I just couldnt get the hang of it. I had moved onto cream eyeliner, but it just took too much time. So I decided to give this a go, as it's a felt tip liner, and I've heard that makes it easier to apply. Well let me say that I'm so glad I did! The tip has some resistance to it, which makes it so much easier to control & it's easy to get either a thin or thick line. The first time I used this, I got a perfect thin line and for the first time ever I was able to add a little wing at the end and have it look cute..lol. The handle is a bit longer than normal too, which i think also helps with control. Plus this dries to a nice rich black color with a tiny bit of pearly shine to it. I plan on repurchasing this over & over again. If you're a bit shy of liquid eyeliner, give this a go!!
Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Black
pinklady7 1/20/2008 1:08:00 PM
I bought this because it's more easily accessible than MAC's fluidliners, which I've been lemming for a while. Although this is a cream, and I'm pretty sure MAC's is a gel. This makes eyeliner so easy! I've usually had some trouble in the past with making a nice line on my upper lash line, until I found this. It's so creamy & smooth & the line goes on very fluidly. I use it with an angled or flat top liner brush, depending on the line I want. It's a basic black color, but I do wish it was darker. This product lasts all day without fading or crumbling. It's not tested to use on the waterline, but I tried it once & it got on my contact & bruned like crazy. So I bought different e/s for that...lol. This cream liner comes in black, brown, teal, and purple. I can't wait to try the teal & purple, but I can't bring myself to spend the $11 each on products I would only use once in a while. It comes in a little glass pot that resembles the fluidlines as well. This is my HG liner & will continue to buy. Although I won't have to for a while because the pot is pretty big.
I never expected to have a HG Deodorant, but this may be it! I can't even describe how delicious this smells. I want to eat it. It's a sweet/fruity/candy scent. It's a white deodorant, and I don't have any problems with it getting on clothing, but then again I never do. This keeps me dry all day, but I'm not a particularly sweaty person, so I don't how this would work on someone who is. Sometimes when I walk into the bathroom, I find myself sniffing this because it's so wonderful. Love, love, love!
This stuff is awful! I was browsing through Rite Aid, and am a mascara whore, so I decided to buy a new one. I like mascaras that give me big, fat black dramatic lashes & according to the little chart by the Maybelline display, this mascara would deliver that. Boy was it wrong! The tube is bulky & the wand isn't very long. Very little white primer came off on my lashes & I had to give it many strokes to coat my lashes, and by that time it was starting to dry. The mascara isn't all that great either. There was barely any length or volume. This cost about $8 which I think it expensive for a DS brand. There are many more at the drugstore which are cheaper & do so much better. DO NOT PURCHASE!
GO OUT & BUY THIS RIGHT NOW! I am completely in love with this scent. I wish I could bathe in it. I was browsing VS with a friend of mine & she smelled this & asked for it for Christmas. When I went to buy it for her there were only 2 bottles of this one left (but tons of the other two PINK scents), so I decided to buy it as well, because if it was almost sold out, it must be amazing. I am so glad I did. It smells like fresh apples & lilly, and it just smells so beautiful without being overwhelming. The scent lasts almost all day on the skin, too. It's not too heavy & makes the skin supersoft too. The square bottle is a little clumsy, but the pump is a HUGE plus for me. I got it during the sale, so it was 2/$20, but I will def. buy this again at regular price. It's THAT good!
Blush -New York Color - Powder Blush In Park Avenue Plum
pinklady7 1/2/2008 8:32:00 PM
I really love this blush! It's a great product for the price. It's a pretty light plum/mauvy color & it looks nice & natural on the skin, but you can build up the color. It has a nice soft texture, as well. I gave packaging a 4 because the blush compact is really cheap looking, but then again, it only costs $2.99, so I can understand. Still this is a great product worth purchasing & if I ever run out of the color, I would buy again.
Lip Gloss -New York Color - Liquid Lip Shine in Sungold Pink
pinklady7 1/2/2008 8:29:00 PM
Overall, I like this gloss, but I don't plan on buying it again. It's a peachy pink with some gold in it. If I put it on from the tube, it's way to metallic-y & frosty. I have to wipe it off on the rim of the tube & then put it on. I only gave it a 4 for packaging because the top doesn't always stay closed, which could be a problem. It's only $1.99 so you can't beat the price. It also tastes a little like soap for a few minutes, but it eventually goes away. I don't think Ill be buying anymore N.Y.C glosses in the future.
I love this product! It smells amazing, only costs $4, isn't sticky, and keeps winter static away. I will def. buy again!
I decided to buy this after a recommendation from a friend that it's a great winter shampoo. I'm so glad I did! I love the fact that the bottle is hot pink & the shampoo is a pretty light pink. It smells wonderful & the scent lasts for quite a while. I can't stop smelling my hair once I get out of the shower :) It really makes my hair soft & shiny. Combined with the conditioner & 24/7 Creme & it has virtually eliminated the static that I get due to the harsh winter weather. I find it to be a bit pricey for a drugstore product ($6) but I got it on sale for 2/$6. However, I will by buying this again!
I love all of Sonia Kashuk's brushes. I think they are an extremely good buy for their price. This is one of the more expensive brushes & personally the most I've ever spent on a brush. It was $10, which in the world of makeup brushes is on the cheap side, but to me pretty expensive..lol. I am so happy with it though! It's nice & soft, and picks up & deposits blush evenly. I've washed it probably 5 times since I bought it & it's holding up pretty well. I will say that I have noticed some shedding, like 1 or 2 hairs whenever I use it, but I don't find it that bothersome because they're pretty inexpensive. After a bit of use though I do see that it gets flattened in the middle, just the middle clump of hairs. I don't understand why, but it drives me crazy. I plan on looking into different blusher brushes.
I LOVE this balm, but I haven't used it in a long time because I didn't like having it in a pot. I've noticed these in the stores as tubes before, but never bought one. I decided to today because my lips are really chapped. This clears it up instantly. It soothes, cools, and moisturizes. Great purchase!
