Concealers -Maybelline - Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Concealer
pinkiflowerx 11/23/2011 12:10:00 AM
This has been my daily concealer for almost 2 years. It has surprisingly good coverage for a liquid drugstore concealer and is probably best for normal to combo to oily skin. Beware though, this concealer will show dry spots. Lasting power is so-so...much better if you set it with powder. One main problem I find is its applicator. The concealer is in a tube with a doe foot applicator...similar to a lipgloss. Dotting the concealer with the doe foot directly onto pimples might spread the contamination of any bacteria or dirt etc directly into the tube of concealer. I originally bought this in medium beige 2-4, which is slightly lighter than my natural skin (I'm Asian, but probably a darker beige tone). This shade matched my skin well and I rebought it about 2 or 3 times. However, drugstores no longer sell medium beige 2-4 anymore! I can't find it anywhere. I can only find the two lightest shades...which is quite unfortunate. As a result, I'm on the hunt for a new concealer. (I'm currently trying Maybelline's 24 hour concealer. It's coverage is even better, but it's hard to blend and it shows dry spots even more)
Blush -E.L.F. - Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder

This works pretty well. The blush is a corally pink, but it has some shimmer to it. The shimmer is gold-colored though...very nice. It's pretty sheer, but you can build it up. It blends well too. The bronzer can be a bit dark on lighter skin tones, but just apply it carefully. This is not an all-over bronzer. I use it for contouring. It looks like it has some shimmer or sparkle, but when you apply it, it goes on matte. It's a dark brown shade. As for staying power, it's no more than average. Packaging looks professional and is of good quality. Overall, this is a good product for a good price. I would definitely buy again.
I've used this toner for about a month now and it works pretty well for me. I love the cooling sensation when you put it on. Btw, I use a cotton pad to apply it. This has 2% salicylic acid and contains witch hazel, both of which are very good for acne. After using this once a day at night for a month, my oily skin has seemed to become less oily. The scent of this toner is light and refreshing, not overpowering at all. The one thing that I dislike about this product is the packaging. The dispenser is a little hole that is covered by a flip cap. I always pour out too much toner for one use and then it gets wasted! However, I do like this and will repurchase again.
Top/Base Coats -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Pro Nail Enamel Base & Top Coat

overall, this is a pretty good top coat. however, i've only had this for less than a year and it got very thick. now whenever i use it, it's too hard to apply and makes bubbles because it's so thick.
Moisturizers -Olay - Moisturizing Lotion in Classic Scent

i use the fluid version of this, not the creme on in a jar and it works great for me. i've been using it since i was in elementary school. my face has always been dry on my cheeks and this lotion was great. back then i didn't have any trouble with acne though. now i'm a teenager and this is great because it doesn't break me out. i like using this all over at nighttime and on my cheeks during the day.
Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Neutrogena Combination skin moisturizer
pinkiflowerx 8/15/2010 5:46:00 PM
this is a staple to my daytime routine. i like how light and non-greasy it feels, but that it's also very moisturizing. i have oily/combination skin and this works wonders for me because it actually mattifys my t-zone. it's great for daytime and helps control the shine, but it isn't moisturizing enough for my dry cheeks. i have to put another moisturizer over my cheeks.
Treatments -Shiseido - Pureness Anti-Shine Refreshing Lotion
pinkiflowerx 8/15/2010 5:42:00 PM
i've used at least 4 to 6 bottles of this for several years and this works great for me. it's really gentle and it compliments my oily/combination skin routine nicely. it's more of a toner than a lotion though. i use it after i put on my moisturizer because i find that it keeps shininess in control better that way for me. the price is kind of expensive, but it's the one product i use that isn't from the drugstore. my mom actually first introduced this to me. ^^
Toners -Neutrogena - Acne Stress Control Triple-Action Toner

this is really great for removing dirt and toning the skin. however, i just have to rinse it off my face when i'm done. this toner is very drying and turns my skin a little bit red. the redness goes away after a few minutes. overall, this was just too strong and drying. i would not buy this again. it does smell good though. the packaging is annoying. when you tip the product out onto a cotton pad, it gets onto the side of the bottle and then becomes sticky.
well, it's ok. it's a lot smoother and gentler than the apricot scrub, but it only has 1% salicylic acid. i tried using this and it didn't cause me to break out, but it certainly wasn't strong enough to prevent it or cure it. it smells great though...i've gone back to the apricot scrub because it just works so much better for me. as for the redness, it does help, but only a little bit.
wow, this doesn't hold a curl at all. it doesn't really give me a lot of length and volume-wise, at least it doesn't clump. this really just looks awful on me and smudges like crazy. ><
it's good and does what it says, but it really isn't that special. i like the cool and tingly feeling you get after using this, but i hate how it doesn't lather up. it goes on really thickly. the 2% salicylic acid is really good though. just so you know, the redness doesn't mean that it's going to get rid of a bright red zit. it just means that it's going to help sooth red skin from irritation and stuff. for me, it worked fine. i don't know if i would repurchase this, but if i needed another cream cleanser then sure. i have combination/oily skin and it didn't do anything bad to my face.
Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control
pinkiflowerx 8/9/2010 6:53:00 PM
for people with sensitive skin, this scrub can be very abrasive and even painful to use. if you ask me, it's mostly just grains and a small amount of actual product to smooth out your skin. however, this scrub is VERY effective. it works great. i purchased one of these last winter and it worked great to get rid of dry patches. it's almost winter again and i'm on my third bottle. unlike the directions say though, i use this scrub every other day. that's probably too much for most people and might irritate their skin. when i don't exfoliate though, my skin just breaks out like crazyyyy. the 2% salicylic acid is great.
