Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Tinted Lip Balm - Honeysuckle
pinkeyey 8/20/2012 4:52:00 PM
I saw this at Whole Foods, but was hesitant to buy it becuase it seems expensive for a 'chapstick'. luckily I tried it cause I love it! firstly, i wear chap stick all the time. PERFORMANCE: i like this lip balm because it feels really nice and does a decent job moisturizing my dry lips. FEEL: it does have a little bit of a waxy coat (similar to applying warm chapstick) feel, but I dont mind it. I find that other lip treatment doesnt feel a bit waxy, it doesnt 'coat' the lips and doesnt moisten. COLOR: i have tan skin and most 'peachy or rosy ' lip colours look 'orange' on me. Honeysuckle looks peach in the tube, but it's very sheer and just lightens my natural lip colour with a little gloss. I saw some reviews on youtube where the gurls wear this to tone done the shade of their lipstick OR to prime their lios for matte lipsticks that might otherwise dry their lios. I will definitely try it! PACKAGING: it's small just like a regular chapstick so it's convenient to carry around everywhere.

Concealers -Unlisted Brand - L.A. Girl Pro conceal HD concealer
pinkeyey 8/18/2012 12:45:00 PM
I love this concealer! I found it by accident while vacationing in singapore and have not seen it anywhere else. The Pure Beige color matches my skin exactly! It's thick enough to cover (most) of my dark brownish eye cicles, but it's not too cakey. (on days when the circles are darker than usual, i have to use a corrector or lighter concealer first). i can also use it to dab over my acne scars. The applicator is a brush, so i can dab it directly on the spot. The only complaint i have is the squeeze tube... I never manage to sqeeze the correct amount out (sometimes too much, sometimes too little). I like the small tube cuz i can carry it in any small purse.

Concealers -Prescriptives - Magic Pencil
pinkeyey 4/11/2012 4:31:00 AM
Prescriptives is great because they have the best colour range! This matches my skin perfectly! BUT it's too difficult to use for my undereye circles. it's difficult to apply in the corners because it's a fat pencil. it's also difficult to blend with my fingers because it's more crayon-y than liquid. I'm old enough to know I shouldn't be rubbing my eye area everyday. =( so, i would use this for old acne scars and such, but as i said, it's difficult to get into the little scars cause the fat pencil is too big. (of course, I can sharpen it everyday, but that would kill the pencil in no time). So, I have some scars on my legs and I've been using this to cover that. it's pretty good, but it rubs off in the day and i have reapply.

Eye Shadow -Bourjois - New Formulated - Ombre a paupieres Eye Shadow
pinkeyey 4/11/2012 4:24:00 AM
I mentioned this in another review but I love Bourjois for its pigmentation! My favourite is the ombre a paupieres eyeshadow, which i have in dark purple (noir precieux), dark green (noir emeruade) and blue (noir cobalt). I love all of them, but my favourite is the blue!!! It's the best for smoky eyes! you can use your own brush and dust it on, or you can use the little felt brush that it comes with. Wet that felt brush to make a dark eyeliner intense colour. I like the blue cause it almost looks black with a little hint of colour. the purple and the green have too much colour, so I have to be careful not to apply too much. the only thing is, I wonder if you can just buy that little felt brush. Oh, another tip, the colour tends to get onto the little mirror (on the inside of the lid), so I'll keep that little paper separator on as long as possible.

Mascara -Bourjois - Volume Clubbing Ultra Black
pinkeyey 4/11/2012 4:15:00 AM
It was surprisingly good! I have short straight lashes that I must crimp like crazy to get curly. And with the wrong mascara, it straightens up right away. I also generally like smaller/closer bristles because I want to get it on every lash. This mascara has big /spread apart bristles. but the consistency and colour are great! it's thick, you can feel like when you open/close the wand. I can vouch that this is tear proof and definitely "clubbing" proof, without making your lashes look too fake. It's also fairly easy to remove with your ordinary eye-makeup remover. Overall, I give this a thumbs up. I wouldn't buy it because I found another mascara with fibers (cause I really need the extra body). but if you've got great lashes already, this is the perfect mascara for you.

Blush -Bourjois - Brun Cuivre 03
pinkeyey 4/11/2012 4:08:00 AM
I like Bourjois products for their pigmentation. This looked really great at the store on my hand, but when I brought it home, the colour didn't really come through on my face. I don't like the little brush that it comes with, so I used my own. But no matter how much I put on my brush (and I can see colour on my brush), I couldn't really see the colour on my cheeks. Maybe my skintone was too close a match with this. The packaging is cute, it comes with a brush and a mirrow (that gets smudged-up pretty quickly) in the back of the lid.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Pencil Perfect Automatic Eyeliner
pinkeyey 4/11/2012 3:55:00 AM
Yes, it smudges. you can rub it off without any makeup remover. BUT the good part is.. it makes a great "darker shade" for smokey eyes. if you don't want that thin line look and just a smudge look, this is great. Other eyeliners won't do that without rubbering. this is also easy to use. you screw it up and down like a lipstick (so you don't need a sharpener). if you are going out and want to touch up your eye makeup, this is easier than carrying around a whole eye shadow case. I have it in several colours, but I like the blue (heaven ascent).

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Lineur Intense
pinkeyey 4/11/2012 3:49:00 AM
This is a good "training" liquid eyeliner. It's a felt-tip, so it's easy to use. you can easily draw a medium-thick liquid eyeliner line. The colour is very pigmented. I have black and I don't need to re-apply to actually get BLACK. It feels like it's water-based (not oil base), because it stay on really well if you have oily eyelids... but definitely not good with tears. when a little moisture gets around the area, I can literally wipe the eyeliner off with one rub. A trick that I like is to put powder eye shadow over the liner it's so black, dark eye shadow looks really good on top, not to mention that it helps set the eyeliner from a little tears or sprinkle. just don't use in the pool or rain!

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
pinkeyey 4/11/2012 3:36:00 AM
I have both the regular (Sand colour) and the oil free version (Nude colour). They come in a plastic squeeze tube, which is easy to control how much to dispense. (It doesn't travel well with airplane air pressure change, so be careful when opening after a flight). It's suppose to be a moisturiser, but for my combination skin, I actually need to prep my skin with another moisturiser first. I apply it with my fingers in circular motion. I can even apply it into my eye area, under concealer. The colours are good, but don't expect foundation-like coverage, as it only lightly "tints". I used to like this product until I found bb cream, which is moisturising and tints and covers a little better. But if you can't find a bb cream, this is not a bad product.

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer
pinkeyey 4/11/2012 3:28:00 AM
I got this a few years ago when I was browsing for primer. I have some dry and oily spots on my face, so makeup looks flaky on me. tthis primer doesn't do a great job in blending the two. In fact, I don't really notice much of a difference. The oily parts are still oily, and the dry parts are still dry. The primer is milky white, but it applies clear. it's suppose to be unscented, but it smells a little bit like plastic to me (but nothing over powering). After applying a thin layer, my skin feels a little tight (kinda like when a face mask dries). But then, when I put my makeup on over it, I actually think it's worst than if I just had moisturiser on. This is not a good product for me. For this price, I would chose another product. I also have the tinted moisturizer, which I like a little better.

Concealers -Shiseido - The Makeup Concealer
pinkeyey 10/8/2011 3:01:00 PM
I looooove this concealer. Seriously, because of the expensive price, I always try to look for replacements... But end up coming back to this. I have really dark under eye circles, and I use #4, which is yellowish with a hint of shimmer (to deflect light). I also use this to highlight things like under my brows, bridge of nose, and I even use it as concealer for some old pimple scars on my cheeks. This is amazing! I'm not crazy about the wand, but it's manageable and i always blend with my fingers after. But sadly-I found out they've recently discontinued this!!! I had the girl call around and check every store in town- and I bought up every single unit they had left. I don't know what I'm going to do when I finish this...

Hair -Mane 'n Tail - Conditioner
pinkeyey 10/8/2011 2:50:00 PM
Very disappointed! (I also wrote a similar review for the shampoo). I've had this for a month or so and i'm already 1/2 way through the bottle. I use this with the shampoo and i usually rotate shampoos/conditioners each day. Maybe it works for other people (with thick and already semi-healthy hair), but it didn't work for me. I have fine wavy and dry hair (has been colored and permed), and this did not make my hair soft or healthy looking or tangle-free. In fact, It made my hair feel like straw and totally un-comb-able. (i read some reviews that said it's better when the hair dries). From my experience, my hair was straw-like from the moment i stepped out of the shower until the next day. at first I thought it was the shampoo... But I've also tries this conditioner with other brand shampoos, and my hair is still coarse and dry. I don't understand it, but it's almost worst than if I didn't use conditioner. I'll continue using this until I finish the bottle, but I can only use this mixed with another conditioner that works. The main purpose of this conditioner is suppose to make your hair manageable- but instead, it makes my hair break when I brush it. (and like I said, I rotate shampoo/conditioners)so it is very apparent when 1 product works on one day and another product doesn't on this next day.

I use this with the conditioner and that's also a huge disappointment. The only reason I give this 3 lippies is cause the first few times I used this, I notice less hair in the drain when I was done with shower (which means less hair was falling out). But, when I brushed my hair afterwards, I didn't notice any diference and there was still a lot of hair in my brush. Yuck. I'll continue using this until I finish the bottle, but I'm not going to repurchase.

Treatments -Murad - Acne Spot Treatment
pinkeyey 9/14/2011 2:28:00 AM
I'm still if-fy about this... For me, I find that sulfur (which is Murad Acne Spot Treatment's active ingredient) tends to work better than BP, but this has been a hit/miss for me so far. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I usually apply this at night on the smaller pimples- right when they are starting to form. when i wake up, sometimes the pimple is still there, sometimes it's not. I never know. But once the pimple has formed (or has turned into a cyst), I KNOW this will NOT WORK. I have also applied this in the morning- under makeup. but you have to be careful not to "rub" it, cause it'll turn into that eraser-rubber. and you can't apply too much cause (although it's green when wet), it dries white and matte - which looks really weird when people see you from an angle. People complain about the smell, but i don't really smell anything. However, I do agree that it's a little expensive (given that it doesn't work 100%). If you can, try to get the "trial" size. I have seen them sell it inside the fishbowl jars next to the counter. it's more than enough and it's convenient to keep inside your makeup bag - to use immediately once you find a zit when you're out. so, my verdict, I would recommend buying the trial size - cause this works for new zits. (and if you don't know whether you're a sulfur or a BP person, you can try both. for example, i'll use this in the morning and BP in the evening.) but i wouldn't get the regular size one cause a) you don't need so much and b) it doesn't work on formed zits .

Treatments (Eye) -Derma E - Pycnogenol and Hyaluronic Acid Eye Creme
pinkeyey 9/13/2011 6:05:00 AM
This sounded promising... But it made my skin really dry, which made it look even worst than before. It never fully absorbed because if I rubbed too much, it ended up turning sticky and tacky. I would rub as much as I could, and then pat it down (lightly tapping with my fingers under the eyes). Been using it on and off every night for a few weeks- sad to say, but after all that, it still didn't help lighten the dark circles either.
