Eye Shadow -MAC - Sunday Best

Quick about me: I'm a PPP with blue eyes and brown hair. I love this eyeshadow... I ended up buying it after the Lingerie collection had come and gone, but I saw pictures and heard raves about it on the makeup board. When I got my hands on it, it was love! It's a light cross between peach and pink... it's not frosty or glittery, both things that can drive me crazy. It's not similar to anything else MAC makes in my opinion... Jest is a bit darker, Phloof! is frostier... this is just right. :o) How do I wear this? So many ways! As a wash on it's own, as a wash with a brown or really most any color in the crease... in the inner corners of my eyelid to brighten up my eye... the possibilities are endless! Would I buy it again? Yes, even though I'm sure by the time I run out it'll be impossible to find... if you get the change to buy/swap for this eyeshadow I highly recommend doing so!

*EDIT: I have noticed that for some reason this does not last very long on me. Wish I knew why, it does not last the day, even with Urban Decay Primer Potion underneath.

Palettes -Fresh - memoirs of a geisha beauty face palette
rated 3 of 5
pinkdaisy226 7/12/2006 9:04:00 PM

Okay I'm not a Fresh fan, I'd never bought a Fresh item til I heard about this palette, on sale for $9.50. I leapt at it and am glad I did. The three items are a highlighter, a blush and a lipgloss. The lipgloss, called Desire, looks like a very bright red but it's actually quite sheer when you put it on your lips... I think if you're afraid of red lipglosses, this one might work for you, as it does for me. The blush is a cream blush, Portrait of a Lady. I don't really use cream blushes but this one is a nice dusty rose color and gives me a subtle, natural blush. Finally, the highlighter - Premier Rose. I've only applied it to my cheeks and have noticed a very subtle, almost not there, shimmer... not bad. Worth the retail $38? No way. Worth $9.50? Definitely. Oh and in regards to the packaging, I gave it a 3 because sometimes it's hard to open and one time I nicked the lipgloss opening it. But it could just be me...

Concealers -Prescriptives - Flawless Skin Total Protection Concealer
rated 4 of 5

Oh this is the concealer I've been searching for. I have some acne scars and the occasional pimple that pops up and I've tried several other concealers with no luck. The SA tried it on me (I'm a Level 2 Warm) and when she was done she told me to look in the mirror. I braced myself and... wow! Blemishes? What blemishes?! It did a great job of concealing everything! The price isn't too bad ($22) considering the great job it does and I do like the sleek mirrored compact it comes in but I know that it'll show smudges and my neurotic self won't like that. Anyway, this is a product I know I will buy again and again!

*EDIT: Apparently the SA wasn't paying attention because I'm a Level 2 Cool, not Warm. I exchanged it today for the right shade and now it's definitely love!

Primer/ Corrector -Clarins - Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch
rated 4 of 5
pinkdaisy226 6/20/2006 11:58:00 AM

I bought this the other day because my skin tends to have dry patches, not to mention it melts off during the hot weather here. I was a bit wary to put a pink paste of my face but it blends very well and makes my skin feel very smooth. It says to wait a bit before putting on foundation so I'll apply the primer, then I'll do my eyes and then I'll put my foundation on... and wow is my foundation easy to apply now! The dry patches don't factor into how my makeup looks now, which is great! I don't think it does the job I was hoping for, which is keeping my makeup on during the hot weather but it minimizes my pores a bit and makes my makeup look great so I would definitely rebuy. My only issue is the packaging, I don't mind the spatula but a pump or tube would be so much easier.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Pinking Sheer
rated 5 of 5
pinkdaisy226 7/25/2005 8:41:00 AM

This has to be one of my favorite lipglosses ever, if not my favorite. A gorgeous pink with glitter, it's a pinker version of Flash of Flesh, another fave. This is a great all around lipgloss, perfect for most any look, and I love it on me (PPP) so much, I got 2. The Tailormade collection had cute packaging and this lipglass was no exception. Get this while you still can!

Lip Treatments -MAC - Aquamelon tinted lip conditioner
rated 4 of 5
pinkdaisy226 7/13/2005 5:39:00 PM

This was my second TLC and I bought it because of the ingeneous way the MA showed me how to wear it... underneath MAC Lipglass. It sheers them out and makes them look less "milky". Anyway, I'm a big fan of TLCs now and Aquamelon is no exception. It is one of the more pigmented TLCs, shows up like a your lips but better peach shade, if I do say so myself. Has that same MAC Vanilla scent that I love and, like other TLCs, conditions my lips and makes them feel so soft - a refreshing relief after they're dried out from using MAC Lipglass. If you can still get this (it was Limited Edition), I recommend it!

Moisturizers -Dove - Sensitive Essentials Night Cream
rated 5 of 5
pinkdaisy226 6/23/2005 7:38:00 PM

This is my HG night time moisturizer... which has been discontinued. Sigh. I love it tho... it took me a while to get used to the lack of fragrance (which I miss from the regular Dove lotion line) but it goes on so smoothly and absorbs into my skin really fast. It hasn't aggravated my skin at all... no pimples or anything. Oh and I'm a Normal-Dry person. :o)

Eye Shadow -Shu Uemura - ME Silver 945 [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
pinkdaisy226 6/23/2005 7:33:00 PM

The most talked about eyeshadow from this line... I had to see what all the fuss was about. It had been sold out on the website for ages so I finally found a kind person to swap it to me... and it was love at first site. This is a gorgeous frosty taupe BUT it doesn't look extreme... I feel that most any person, regardless of their age and job, could wear this. And boy does it last... I use my Urban Decay Primer Potion underneath it and it stays on my lids until I need to take it off with my eye makeup remover. Please make this your first or next Shu purchase... it's a great example of this neat line!

Blush -Shu Uemura - P Pink 30A
rated 4 of 5
pinkdaisy226 6/23/2005 7:31:00 PM

This was my first Shu blush and it was love at first sight. I had been looking for a light pink blush and when I found this one, I knew I had to get it. I use a skunk brush for all my blushes so it always takes a bit of work to get lighter shades to appear... on my LLL (or am I PPP?) skin it took 2 coats. One to make it show up a bit and 2 to give me a full out flush. It's a gorgeous flattering shade and it lasted all day long. I am now a Shu blush convert!

Eye Shadow -MAC - DBohemia
rated 1 of 5
pinkdaisy226 6/23/2005 7:29:00 PM

I bought this eyeshadow because I have blue eyes and fair skin and was told oranges should look great on me. Perhaps they do but this eyeshadow wasn't it. I could not make it appear on my lids... it just disappeared. And I'm a NW20 in MAC so it should've shown up nicely! I swapped this away and definitely will not rebuy.

Lip Gloss -Shu Uemura - Pink Lemonade Sweet Gloss
rated 3 of 5
pinkdaisy226 6/22/2005 10:31:00 AM

I got this for cheap so I doubt I'd every pay full price for this but if you can afford it (or get a good deal) - go for it! I love it... has a great scent and doesn't have much pigmentation but makes my lips feel smooth and look shiny and just a touch pinker. I'm more of a MAC Lipglass fan but I love the way this Shu Uemura Sweet Gloss doesn't dry out my lips and lasts longer.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Coco Pigment [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
pinkdaisy226 5/24/2005 8:06:00 PM

This is my new favorite eyeshadow. It's so great, I'm debating on buying a backup, I can actually see myself using the whole thing! I'm not a big fan of pigments because they can be messy but this pigment is so worth it. It's the most versatile color, the most gorgeous color I've ever seen - I believe the word is Taupe. Usually I'm more of a fan of bright colors but Coco has me changing my ways and I seriously reach for this every day! I like wearing it with other browns/taupes, with purples... with different colored eyeliners... it's such a great color! I don't think there's anything left to say! I love it!

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel - Sweet Sage
rated 2 of 5
pinkdaisy226 5/24/2005 12:31:00 PM

I so wanted to like this product, because I love MAC Fluidlines. However I find that the lighter colored fluidlines don't go on as nicely or as thick as the darker colors. I applied this and couldn't even see it from far away (and I'm very fair so it should've been visible). The color was nice, though maybe a bit too yellow for my taste, and I had high hopes for it but I think I'm going to have to swap it away and I won't rebuy.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eyeliner Gel Macroviolet
rated 2 of 5
pinkdaisy226 5/24/2005 12:28:00 PM

Sadly, I'm disappointed in Macroviolet, and I am a huge fan of MAC Fluidlines. I think I love darker colors by MAC because this one and my other light colors (Sweet Sage and Rich Ground) go on so poorly, I'd have to go over the line twice to get it to appear. Also, and this might just be a personal preference, but I was hoping for a more Deep Violet shade, not a Plum color, which I don't wear often. However, if you are looking for a plum eyeliner, perhaps you will like this one? Either way, I swapped mine away and will not rebuy.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #209 Eye liner
rated 5 of 5
pinkdaisy226 5/24/2005 12:25:00 PM

I am in love with this adorable little brush. I bought it along with my first MAC Fluidline and use it with all my gel eyeliners. It picks up product easily, and just glides over my eyelid, helping me to get a thin, natural looking line. No more skips or thick, unnatural looking lines from using a pencil eyeliner, this brush and my gel eyeliners make applying eyeliners actually fun! Previously I was scared of wearing eyeliners but now, 209 has helped me overcome my fears and I don't go a day without wearing one!
