These are obviously Maybelline's answer to Loreal's Caress line of lipsticks and so far I'm pretty impressed. I own about 4 of these so far and I'm enjoying all of them but I'd have to say that Pin Up Peach is by far my favorite. It's a very pretty peachy-pink shade that seems like it would be complimentary on most skin tones. Love it!
I absolutely adore this little palette! I have Naked 1&2 and am a real UD fanatic so it was a given that I would pick up this little gem. 5 out of the 6 shades are matte; the only one that is a shimmery/pearlish shade is Venus. I think all of the matte shades make it a nice complement to the larger Naked palettes which are predominately shimmery shades. These shadows are soft, buttery and incredibly blendable. I have been playing with this palette all week and have received tons of compliments. I love each color but the real stand-outs to me are Venus, Naked 2 and Faint. Gorgeous!
Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm
pinkchopstix13 1/11/2013 2:26:00 PM
I picked up one of these in #230 which I believe is the berry one (the name comes off with the wrapper) and I love it! It wears very comfortably on the lips and leaves a sheer but definitely noticeable color on your lips. I think it has decent staying power (a few hours) for a balm. I can't wait to pick up a few more shades!
Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Liner
pinkchopstix13 1/11/2013 2:23:00 PM
This is just a plain ole' average liquid liner. There really isn't anything special about it. I wear liquid liner every day so I'm pretty comfortable with them and I think this one is much harder to control than my LORAC or Physician's Formula ones so my lines come out a tad thinker than I would like sometimes. On a positive note, it dries quickly, lasts all day and does not transfer to another part of my eyelid. Bottom line: If you need a cheap liquid liner or just want to try one out, this one is a pretty safe bet.
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Barely Branded Color Tattoo
pinkchopstix13 1/11/2013 2:19:00 PM
Barely Branded is just plain gorgeous! I like to wear it on my lid and then smoke out my eyes with one of my Naked or other neutral palettes. Add some black liner and my eyes look so glamorous! I seriously can't believe the Color Tattoos are a $6 drugstore product. I own nearly all of them and have yet to be disappointed. The high end dept store brands better watch their backs! **I know a lot of people may be purchasing this as a back up or replacement of Barely Beige but they are not really dupes of each other. Barely Branded leans on the champagne/yellow side whereas Barely Beige is definitely more pink toned. They are both beautiful shades though and worth owning!
Lipstick -Revlon - Color Stay Ultimate Suede Lipstick
pinkchopstix13 1/11/2013 2:15:00 PM
I picked up two of these when I saw them at Target the other night and what a mistake. They go on really creamy but within a few minutes my lips felt dry and very, very sticky. It was incredibly uncomfortably. I tried putting my favorite lip balm to help the situation but it removed a lot of the pigment (which surprised me since they are supposed to be a ColorStay product...). I definitely don't recommend these!
Mascara -Tarte - Lights, Camera, Splashes Waterproof Mascara
pinkchopstix13 1/11/2013 2:12:00 PM
I'm really surprised that this mascara doesn't have a higher rating because it is by far the best mascara I have ever used and I have tried nearly all of them (drugstore and high end). I have thick but short lashes and this mascara does an amazing job of give me gorgeous pair of peepers! I always get compliments when I wear it. I never have black gunk on the skin under my eyes at the end of the day with this one. I love it!
This mascara makes my lashes look AMAZING! I have thick and dark lashes but they are short so I need a little help to make them stand out and this mascara does the job! It has decent staying power although sometimes I do see a little transference under my eyes at the end of the day but since it's not a waterproof version, this didn't really surprise me.
Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner Stingray
pinkchopstix13 1/11/2013 2:07:00 PM
This is my favorite liner for my water line thus far. I have very sensitive eyes so usually as soon as I line my water line my eyes start watering and completely wash away my work. This stuff does a pretty good job and doesn't seem to irritate me. I usually just touch it up later on in the day.
I love, love, love this lip cream! It goes on so smooth and soft and it is very moisturizing! This color is a creamy nude with a hint of pink. On it reminds me a little bit of my MAC Creme Cup but definitely less pinky. At around $21 a pop, this is a bit on the pricey side for me but I'm so thrilled with my purchase that I can't wait to pick up another shade from this line!
This isn't my favorite moisturizer but I think it's pretty darn good for the price (around $18 for a 1.7 fl oz jar compared to my $45 Clinique creams). It's very soothing and thick and feels great on my face. I like the smell because it isn't perfumey but is still pleasant. I LOVE the packaging! It just looks like a normal jar but when you take the lid off it has this flat pump which keeps you from having to dip your fingers into the jar every time (which is really kind of gross when you think about it). The pump dispenses the perfect amount of product and the jar lasts me for several months. My only real complaint is that I wish it had SPF but otherwise it's a great little face cream.
Blush -Stila - Custom Color Self Adjusting Blush in Coral
pinkchopstix13 4/27/2012 4:32:00 PM
I'm not usually big on coral blushes but this one is so pretty! You definitely want to start with just a little bit and then build to your taste because it's really vibrant. It does blend well though and can really create a nice and somewhat natural flush. I also own this in the self-adjusting pink which I like even more than this one. The packaging is really cute but the clip/clasp is flimsy and comes out on it's own all of the time which seems kind of ridiculous with a $20 blush but that's my only complaint!
I absolutely love this foundation! I’m not usually a fan of cream compacts as my skin sometimes runs dry and the cream foundations can really highlight my dry patches but I do not have any issues with this little gem. It is creamy and smooth and feels moisturizing without being greasy or too heavy. I was color matched at the counter with NW20 and it is spot on! I have never had a foundation that matched me so perfectly. I would consider it light to medium coverage but it is build-able. I like to apply this foundation with either a stippling brush or a flat head blender brush which only requires a small amount of product while still creating a near flawless finish. This foundation wears well throughout the day and hasn’t caused any break outs or anything like that. It’s a new favorite for sure!
Carefully applied, this is a gorgeous blue-based baby pink. It runs a little too light for my lip tone which is why I have to be careful not to apply it too thickly but when it is sheer it is quite pretty. It also looks amazing layered over some of my darker, plummy shades. I like the smooth texture and am still in love with the adorable tubes in this line.
Lips -Revlon - ColorBurst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait
pinkchopstix13 4/27/2012 12:05:00 PM
I was hesitant to purchase this shade because it looked like it would be way too orange but boy am I glad that I took the risk! It is this gorgeous peachy pink on my skin tone and it really just makes me look glowy and healthy. I wish the texture was creamier because I find the sparkles in it to be a little gritty feeling but the color and finish more than make up for it and I love the chic packaging!
