Lip Treatments -Nivea - Lip Butter
pink3rbellx 6/10/2013 12:18:00 PM
This really is like the Korres lip butters but at a cheaper price. I approve. However, it's better and worse than the Korres version and I'll tell you why: It's better because the texture of these is more emollient (imo) which gives better moisture. It's worse because unlike the Korres version, these don't have a tint and instead leave a white cast on your lips if you're not careful. The white cast is not cute. Especially if you've got any dead skin on your lips, it'll bunch up on those and just look gross. It leaves a sheen that begins to fade in about 10-20 minutes as the product soaks in. Even when I feel the product has faded after about half an hour, the lips still feel moisturized. But I really like these. Not for super chapped or dehydrated lips - for me it didn't work for that. It's not really a healing balm (for me at least) so much as a moisturizing balm. When my lips are really, really dry I reach for Burt's Bees. Still, these are cheap when you consider how much product you're getting. I have the Vanilla Macadamia and it's a very sweet vanilla scent with a nuttiness to it. Also: for those who are concerned about using your fingers to apply it, why not just put your lips directly onto the product..? That's what I do and it works. The tin is certainly big enough to do so.

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter - Jasmine
pink3rbellx 3/18/2013 7:37:00 PM
I know people love this. Don't hate me I guess? I guess my lips don't like shea? It kind of just sits on the surface and feels like a sticky coating. It's thick and quite nice to sleep in because by the time I wake up, it has sunken in and my lips are soft but it doesn't really smooth out the surface if that makes sense. I thought it would be buttery in a melty way, not really in a thick way. It's hard to find any other way to describe this product aside from thick. This Jasmine scent is really nice though - smells sweet, like cookies. Not at all an herbal, flowery scent as one might think from the name. For reference, most lip balms are terrible on my lips and the best I've found so far is Burt's Bees. If you've had good experiences with shea butter in the past, I'm sure you'll love this.

Lip Treatments -Christian Dior - Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm
pink3rbellx 1/29/2013 8:01:00 PM
Gahhhh.... A dear friend bought this for me for Christmas, and I love it. I mean really love. I mean, like, I'm probably definitely going to repurchase this when I'm done with it. It gives my lips a natural looking flush, but the texture of it is my favorite part. It feels nice and smooth, and yet imparts a healthy sheen (glow?) too. And vanilla mint? I love vanilla and mint. So that was just pushing it. Hate that I love this product. It's too damn expensive.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Lash
pink3rbellx 8/31/2012 11:20:00 AM
Garbage. I liked it at first because of the oversized brush and dry - and therefore buildable - formula. It didn't make my lashes look fake, or overly done. It wasn't that special, it was just pretty nice. I thought maybe I'd repurchase the sample size again )no way I'd ever pay $20 for a mascara). However, lately it's been traveling under my eyes. Not pretty and not okay. Unacceptable. I've also gotten flakes in my eyes. Nothing too special and not long wearing.

Lip Gloss -Urban Decay - Lip Junkie
pink3rbellx 5/28/2012 1:35:00 PM
I'm impressed with this gloss, it's made me really like gloss again. Like others, I received a sample in my Naked 2 palette in the color Naked and the color is nothing very special, just a neutral pink that gives my unpigmented lips an ever so slightly pinker color. It's flattering. However, the formula is what makes this gloss a winner. I have very naturally dry lips, so I use Burt's Bees all the time to make my lips smooth. Usually when I use lip gloss, my lips will begin to get flakey after a while (hope that's not TMI). However, this gloss doesn't do that at all. Maybe it's the peppermint oil in this? I don't know, but it's a very moisturizing gloss. I'd buy a full size.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
pink3rbellx 5/15/2012 3:28:00 PM
Oh boy, this is going to be long. Pardon. This palette is: Shimmery, a great value, and full of light "neutrals" (the use of the word neutral is controversal) but still has a few good and necessary dark shades. In comparison to the first Naked palette, which I don't own but my friend does and I see/play with it, this palette is lighter. It gave me many beautiful lid colors, whereas the first Naked palette gives a rather equal amount of smokey shades and day to day lid colors. Because I'm into ultra neutral and subtle make up, the "lightness" of the colors in Naked 2 makes this palette extremely wearable for me. If you are one who loves to smoke out your shadows all the time and want a palette better for that, go with the first Naked. This palette will allow you to smoke out your shadows, no doubt, but not with the same variety the first Naked allows. People tend to say the colors in Naked 2 are "cool toned" in comparison to the first. I wouldn't say that. These colors are still quite warm, but the presence of a gray and an eggshell color like Verve makes people want to describe it as cool. To me, this just makes the palette more balanced, but in my opinion Pistol and Verve are the only legitimately cool toned colors in this palette. I prefer warm toned colors for my eyes, but I still use those two (especially Verve a lot). The rest of the colors are rather neutral to warm and I find this palette is great for my brown eyes. So, yes, this palette is definitely lighter than Naked 1, but cool toned? Mehhh. In regards to the extras that come with the palette: The brush is okay. I wish it wasn't double ended, but whatever. The shadow end is more like a concealer brush to me and it doesn't pack on color well. You have to really dig it into the eyeshadow. The blending side is lovely, but I find it rather big. The lip gloss is amazing and goes well with the eyeshadow looks you'll get from this palette. The eyeshadow quality is amazing as well, and I don't get fallout from the glittery shades, but I'm careful to always pat those on well (Chopper and YDK). I've found use for each eyeshadow except Foxy and Blackout, two shades which I recognize are probably the most versatile in the palette. I just have no use for black eyeshadow, but Blackout is good quality. Foxy doesn't really show up well as a highlight on my NC25 skin, but I suppose I could use it to blend out some colors. I'll write about some of my favorites in this palette: Bootycall is an amazing inner corner highlight! I love it and it's the best I've found so far. Verve is simply gorgeous and it's a really complex eggshell gray-ish color. It really opens up the eye. Snakebite is a great day time crease color. Chopper is a copper with silver glitter. Really pretty and although glittery, is nice for day time. Suspect, on my skin tone (NC25), is a nude shimmer that is extremely subtle. YDK is between a shimmer and glitter. It's metallic I guess, and an extremely light reflective, beautiful taupe with purple undertones. Although it's metallic, like any of the colors in this palette, it can be used for day time without making you look crazy or intense because it's such a light taupe. Love this palette to the point where it stuns me that some people hate it.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Olive Oil
pink3rbellx 5/9/2012 8:03:00 PM
Warning: This is a review in progress. I just cleansed my face with olive oil (organic, cold pressed) for the first time a few hours ago, and I really like it so far. I rubbed it into my skin (and yes, it took out some cloggage and blackheads!) and my skin feels so soft and looks even right now. A few of those rough scars that I get from old acne actually peeled off really easily after I washed my face. For reference, my skin is very acne prone and oily. Although, very recently I have developed a few dry patches (one on each cheek) which is bizarre for me. Anyway, my dry patches are more hydrated now. Overall, my skin feels less clogged in a significant way, and is brighter too, after just one try. I'm still trying to figure out if I should use my acne fighting cleanser tonight or stick with the olive oil. I'll update on this. As a makeup remover: Works great and it's easier than vaseline (what I used previously). However, this feels worse than vaseline if you get it in your eye! My left eye was cloudy for what felt like forever but was probably around 5 minutes. It doesn't feel nice, so beware. As a hair treatment: My curly and rather dry hair just soaked this up. I'll update later with further results.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Creme Brulee
pink3rbellx 4/25/2012 7:55:00 PM
This color washes me out. I'm NC25 and this looks like I put concealer on my lips - no joke! It's quite pigmented for a lip butter. My lips aren't very pigmented though, so maybe on someone with extremely pigmented lips this wouldn't be as opaque or concealer-y.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
pink3rbellx 4/23/2012 9:10:00 PM
Today this made a creme shadow that usually instantly creases on me last all day. It looked so fresh by the end of the day. This stuff is amazing. I didn't want to spend so much money on it, so I avoided getting it. However, when I got a sample in the Book of Shadows palette, I knew this was it. Never looking back.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Bad to the Bronze / on and on bronze
pink3rbellx 4/23/2012 9:06:00 PM
I wanted to give this a 5 because I really do LOVE it. It's such a pretty color and easy to apply and looks more natural than I thought it would. However, it gets to me that people advertise this as being able to last on the eyelid without primer... it almost instantly creases on me without primer! That goes for any of the color tattoos. I know my eyelids are oily, but I didn't think they were thattt much oilier than everyone else.. Either way, when I wear this with UDPP, it lasts forever. O.M.G. So pretty.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
pink3rbellx 4/17/2012 7:22:00 PM
Holy lash loss! I have long and pretty thick lashes. I just look to mascara to make them a bit curlier and darker. I liked the effect this gave me - it made my lashes look even thicker. It also LASTS a long time. I'm not knocking this product at all, it's definitely worth a shot and I don't necessarily regret purchasing. It also has a relatively dry formula that I like. However, this stuff clings to your lashes for dear life and won't let go. I've used this twice and it's taken around 6 of my lashes or so now. I won't be letting it have any more. tip: removes better with water than with any oily makeup remover. Strange, I know.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon #252B Nutty
pink3rbellx 4/13/2012 11:10:00 PM
Please believe the hype. I was lemming Mac's Satin Taupe for a while back there, but I got this and feel no need. This color is GORGEOUS and looks more natural on the lid than I thought it would. Formulation is soft without being too soft, as is the formula on their other shadows I've tried. Wet 'n Wild is stepping up their game when it comes to their eyeshadows, man.. You need a good primer with Wet 'n Wild shadows though. I have very oily lids and while these do crease, the bigger issue for me was fading. I'm obsessed with Nutty.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
pink3rbellx 4/13/2012 8:47:00 PM
Wth Allure? Horrible. Makes my lashes look awkward and is quick to clump - definitely not buildable. I have long and thick lashes already, I just use mascara to give them a bit of "oomph" and make them blacker but this makes them black and shiny which is... weird. I want my lashes to be matte. Also, the brush is weird and while it helps my friend whose lashes are very short, it's very hard for me to reach to the base of my lashes with this brush since mine are longer. Someone's tip earlier to angle the wand when pulling it out was brilliant, though. Definitely helped but not enough to where I'd even consider repurchasing or even using it again.

Eyeliner -Revlon - Colorstay Eyeliner
pink3rbellx 4/8/2012 3:34:00 PM
Bought Brown after seeing the glorious reviews on here for this liner. I am (well, was) a huge fan of retractable liners. I found them convenient and easy, but an issue I had was that it wouldn't stick. Well, this liner gets raves for how long it lasts and I don't know why it doesn't work for me as it does on everyone else! It doesn't go on very smoothly, but I made application work as best as I could. However, although I only applied to my top lid it would transfer onto under my eyes by the end of the day. Frustrating. I've since moved onto gel liner and am way happier.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner
pink3rbellx 4/3/2012 9:01:00 PM
Lasts better than any other eyeliner I've ever used before, but still transfers to my bottom lid after around 5 hours. I have extremely oily lids, though. Edited to add: A few months later and I've stopped using this. This summer I used it every day with primer potion underneath and it actually lasted beautifully. However, with the arrival of fall, not even UDPP can keep this stuff on. I don't know if my lids have gotten oilier or what, or if the product has gotten old (I still have a ton left..), but I decided to stop using it and moved on to another. I give this like a 3.7 but rounded up, a 4.
