Pressed Powders -Lancome - Photogenic Compact [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

This is my very first purchase of pressed powder ever and I have to say I love it love it! I love the way that it *never* makes me cakey/chalky no matter how "thick" I pile it on my face. And this makes me look glowy & flawless(that I never am) in pictures---I even got compliments from a friend of my friend(who I dunno)! As much as I love it, I just wish it had more coverage and controlled oil better. It doesn't worsen my oiliness but not helping either.

Fragrances -Nina Ricci - Les belles (The green bottle)
rated 5 of 5

This was the first fragrance I ever purchased in my life. I was 16 back then and tempted with its cute bottle. Got this for $10 for 1oz bottle, sucha steal...fragrance itself didn't smell exactly tomato to me, but a fresh & kinda girlie citrius scent. The other day I swapped it for who knows what reason but I now regret so much! Oh well maybe this wasn't that great, it's just the memory thing that gets me...

Treatments -Aussie - 3 Minute Miracle
rated 4 of 5
pigpen 5/16/2003 12:17:00 AM

after reading all the raves about this product I decided to get myself a bottle. Been using this for a month and love it. I have colored damaged, dry, frizzy long hair yet an oily scalp(the toughest kind I know), so I've been on a hunt for something that really deeply moisturize & revitalize my going-dead hair, minus any extra oil which tends to make my scalp more greasy. So then I got this and used it as conditioner. Immediately I felt my hair soft and smooth and not sticky on the scalp, woo hoo! Just that I wished it'd have done a better job taming the frizz...I alternate this with TBS banana conditioner and like them so far. Will repurchase this.

Treatments (Eye) -Almay - Kinetin Rejuvenating Eye Treatment
rated 3 of 5
pigpen 5/15/2003 4:51:00 PM

After all the raves I bought this eye treatment for my fine lines. Sadly it didn't do anything to those icky lines after weeks of use. But it does a good job moisturizing the undereye area w/o any sticky feeling, and I love the fact that it comes in a point tipped squeeze tube so I can always control the amount of product I need. For $15+ this eye cream/gel is a little expensive, that I can always get a department store one with a couple dollars more. I wouldn't buy this again.

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream
rated 4 of 5
pigpen 5/10/2003 11:50:00 PM

I got a sample of it in swap and loved it! It's very moisturizing and what I like most about it is its comforting powdery scent. Another plus is it doesn't leave any "slippery"(don't have a better word for that) feeling like some other drugstore handcreams do when I wash my hands. For some reason I like its metal tube packaging. I'm sick of squeezing those icky plastic bottles from time to time just to get a tiniest bit of product out of the tube so, metal tube is quite my thing. I took one lipstick off because of its price. I'm on an L'occitane kick and this stuff is apparently responsible!

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Wet Shine Diamonds Liquid in Luminous Lilac

nice shimmery lilac pink which shows more pink on my lips. I'd buy this again if only it can stay longer on my lips and be shinier.

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Lip Polish in Baby Mauve
rated 4 of 5
pigpen 4/4/2003 9:55:00 PM

Got this for $5.49 at Walgreens(why didn't I wait a bit for a promotion or what?). Tried this twice on bare face and it washed me out like hell...being put in the bottom of my traincase ever since. The other day when I had full makeup and a strong blush and didn't know what gloss to wear, I decided to give it a third try. Wow! It's pretty~~~now I know the trick---work this with a strong blush and a nude liner.

Conditioner -L'anza - Leave-In conditioner
rated 3 of 5
pigpen 4/4/2003 9:40:00 PM

Got a 50ml bottle as freebie from an Ulta order. I was so pleased to have received this as I was about to invest in a leave in conditioner, so I thought I'd save myself some bucks. However it doesn't do much to my dry frizzy color treated hair. It smells nice and doesn't make my hair sticky but its effects are pretty temporary. It leaves shine to my hair and detangles a bit but I don't feel anything the next day (I shampoo once two days). I need something with stronger staying power.

Lip Treatments -Blistex - Ultra Protection
rated 2 of 5

This stuff dries out my lips. I have to wear it over my basic lip balms, which I don't usually care to. Think about this as a sunblock more than a lip balm, you may find better results.

Treatments (Eye) -Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair Eye Recovery Complex
rated 3 of 5
pigpen 3/31/2003 2:45:00 AM

As I noticed the appearance of those hideous fine lines I thought I should switch to a functional eye treatment. I bought a 5g sample of it and disappointingly this did nothing to erase any fine lines or lighten dark circles. The cream-gel texture wasn't emollient enough either. I just don't see what all the hype is about...ugh

Foundations -IPSA - pore cover creative foundation
rated 3 of 5
pigpen 3/31/2003 2:36:00 AM

This is a disappointment. I bought this in Japan airport duty free store on my way back to Hong Kong for. I hoped this stuff would save me from showing my huge pores around nose. This foundation comes in a flat pot. price is quite steep for you only get 15g of the product for $40. It feels like those clay/mud(whatever you call it) you use to make pottery, it's a sticky, thick paste(so that it fills pores? I doubt). When I gently dabbed this on the skin around nose, all my flakes were shown---my nose looked cracked!!! OMG...immediately I wiped it off and put moisturizer on instead. Then I tried it again, and my nose cracked, and again, it still looked bad. I won't buy this again, although it really made my large-pored skin look a bit smoother.

Lip Gloss -Mary Kay - Pink Pout Lip Gloss
rated 4 of 5
pigpen 3/31/2003 2:23:00 AM

Got this in swap and like it. Am I the only one who considers its name "pink" pout misleading? As a matter of fact it appears more plummy/berry than pink. It's a sheer shimmery plum lipgloss and has a moderate consistency. Doesn't stay put as long as high ends like MAC or Bloom but it's not bad though. Packaging can be better, the gray painted plastic cap and the gold ring on the rim makes the gloss look completely granny.

Concealers -Almay - Skin-Smoothing Concealer with Kinetin SPF 10
rated 4 of 5
pigpen 3/31/2003 2:16:00 AM

Finally I found a concealer which doesn't cake or turn powdery, and this is it. I'm sooo glad I got this in a K-mart closing sale for $3.5. Consistency wise this is kinda runny but still, it's quite pigmented. I use it on my undereye circles. It's easy to blend well and does not sink into lines. Love the spf it comes in also. It even works better than my MAC select cover up. Will buy it again when it runs low.

Eye Shadow -Mary Quant - peep eyes
rated 5 of 5
pigpen 3/31/2003 2:07:00 AM

LOVE these shadows!!! This is an eye shadow duo compact and I got this in choc aholic(shimmery pinkish cream/shimmery bronzy tangerine) and fly by night(shimmery medium blue/shimmery dusty pink)on ebay. The packaging can't be cuter with the MQ signature flower hetch marks on the shadows. The two triangular shadows sit at the lower corner of the square compact and you can see the shadows through the lid of the black compact(a clear triangular plastic thing appear at the lower corner on the lid which allow you to see through it). The shadows are of great great quiality! They're smooth and highly pigmented and creaseproof(to a certain extent). They also come in a very good color range. I truely believe this brand is underrated. will definitely buy this again & again!
