Lip Treatments -Murad - Soothing Lip Therapy

the only thing i don't like about this lip balm is the packaging. it comes in a tube, but you have to squirt it out onto your fingers to apply on your lips...i think it would be much more convenient and sanitary to have a slant tip applicator like all the "juicy-esque" lip glosses have. other than that, it does a great job moisturizing my extremely dry/chapped lips and it doubles as a lip gloss. it also has aha to help flakies. at $12 a tube, i will definitely continue to purchase.

Lip Treatments -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dr. Feelgood Lipscription [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
picholine506 9/21/2005 6:14:00 PM

dr feelgood lipscription is a set which includes a hydrating lip balm and lip exfoliator containing AHA and jojoba enriched buffing beads. i haven't tried the lip balm yet, but i have been using the buffing beads for the last 4 months or so. and i love it. the lip buffer comes in a 0.5 oz tube and has a cream type texture with tiny buffing grains. i used it about 2-3 times a week right after i get out of the shower....that way the flakies are kinda loosend and easier to exfoliate off. i use this in conjunction with english ideas lip refine which i use every night. they both keep my lips very smoothe. i would have to say that the lipscription lip buffer is better than mary kay's satin lip mask which is actually pretty good too...but i think the AHA in lipscription helps loosen up the dead skin better than the mary kay mask. i just wish benefit sold the lip balm and buffing beads separately as i already have tons of lip balms.

Lip Treatments -English Ideas - Lip Refine

i cannot live without this. again, i would have never known about this product if it wasn't for mua. i purchased this after reading the great review on p'ville. lip refine comes in a tiny tube and has a light lotion like texture. i usually apply this at night. i wake up in the morning and take a moist wash cloth and wipe my lips to take off the exfoliated cells...then apply lip balm then lipgloss. you can definitely tell the difference. your lip balm and gloss glides on. love it even if it is expensive. it's $32 for a tiny 0.33 fl oz...but it does last forever. i've had mine for over 9 months...even after half the tube squirted out everywhere after a flight to miami. i will be ordering my 2nd tube from sephora next week.

Cleansers -Clinique - Rinse-off foaming cleanser
rated 5 of 5
picholine506 9/21/2005 12:57:00 AM

i normally use shiseido's gentle cleansing foam but i bought this at the duty free bc it was so cheap. almost half the cost of shiseido's cleanser which is about $26 or so. to my surprise, i liked this cleanser. it foams up really well and takes off every trace of makeup. if you have dry skin, this might be a little drying. i have combination oily skin so it's perfect. i haven't decided if i would repurchase or not...i love shiseido, but clinique's cleanser pretty much does the same thing for less...i think i might try alternating between the two.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Lineworks Waterproof Liquid EyeLiner in Black
rated 5 of 5
picholine506 9/21/2005 12:44:00 AM

i got the black and brown one from ulta...they were having a buy one get one free promotion. i ended up getting 4 but only paying for 2. since they were $6 each...i saved $12. what a deal. i have previously used almay amazing liquid I-liner and lancome's artliner which were pretty good...but maybelline's waterproof liquid eyeliner has a greater lasting power. it actually is not waterproof...but it does stay for at least 16 hrs without smudging. i did notice a few flakies. will repurchase

Lotions/ Creams -DDF - Pedi-Cream
rated 3 of 5
picholine506 9/21/2005 12:30:00 AM

i bought this because of the great review. it does has a nice spearmint scent and a slight cooling effect when you first apply to your feet. it kept my heels soft in conjunction with pumice stone exfoliation. but i wouldn't purchase again bc imo philosophy's soul owner is much better and is almost half the price.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 192 Cheek/Face brush [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
picholine506 5/22/2005 6:15:00 PM

great brush for liquid foundation and creme foundation appplication. i like it much better the trish mcevoy foundation brush which i had a difficult time using with creme foundations. it just didn't pick up enough of the foundation. the MAC foundation brush blends really well and looks very natural and even all over. i wash it with a gently liquid soap after each application. i will definitely be repurchasing. i think i will buy a 2nd brush to apply my tarte cheekstain. if anyone has used this brush to apply gel blushes please let me know how you liked/didn't like it.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
rated 4 of 5
picholine506 5/22/2005 6:00:00 PM

this is the first top coat i've ever used. i got this free at beauty brands with a purchase of 2 essie nail polishes. so, far, i really like it. it dries really fast and makes my nails look shiny and nice. i've read from the other reviews that seche vite top coat gets thick really fast so, i'm not sure if i'll be repurchasing...i'm kinda curious about poshe top coat...but i've read the same thing about poshe as well. will update.

Polishes -Essie - Marshmallow
rated 4 of 5
picholine506 5/22/2005 5:46:00 PM

a subdued white. great for french mani/pedi tips if you're looking for a less stark white...also great for beginners trying to do french mani/pedi since the mistakes aren't as obvious. i'm not sure if i would repurchase...i'm looking for a shade that is a touch more whiter. overall, it's a great polish. very easy to work with.

Candles -Tocca - Candle in Kyoto

kyoto as well as the yma have really great throw. kyoto has a very sweet floral scent to it. i normally don't like floral scent, but this is really nice. will definitely repurchase...but do wanna try some of the other scents as well.

Candles -Tocca - YMA
rated 4 of 5
picholine506 12/4/2004 3:12:00 AM

i *love* the tocca yma candle. i just got this and kyoto. i like the fruitiness of yma. it's a combination of guava and i think south american currants. i haven't even lit it yet but i can tell already that it has great throw. without lighting it, it's already scented my whole room. my only complaint is with the packaging. i don't mind the glass container, but there's bit and pieces of the candle floating around the main candle and the glass which makes it look kinda messy and also there's just a sticker that says tocca that's not even properly stuck on the glass...there's an air bubble...it was like this on both the yma and kyoto. so, i took one lippie off for packaging and for the price...although it is expensive, it's definitely worth the splurge.

Treatments (Eye) -Shiseido - Benefiance Revitalizing Eye Cream [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
picholine506 9/19/2004 1:28:00 PM

i used the shiseido benefiance eye cream several years ago then switched to la mer eye balm...recently i've gone back to shiseido for the undereye area. although i love la mer, it does not provide enough moisture for the undereye area which is drier than the upper lid (weird). i still use la mer on my upper eyelid as it keeps it from being puffy in the mornings. for those of you who have puffy eyes, this is NOT for you. otherwise, it's a great product...very emolient and rich.
