Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Daily facial cleanser with AHA- ASAP (Australian skin approved products)

Terrible, terrible product. Like detergent it completely dried my skin out, and in conjunction with the scrub gave me huge blind pimples which I have never gotten before. The packaging is really great but the product inside is violent. It made by skin scaly and dehydrated. If you have acne, steer clear of this! Products which sooth and are gentle on the skin are much better than all these acids in my experience. Very disappointing for an Australian made product. This contains amonium lauryl sulphate and glycolic acid.

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Daily moisturiser plus sunscreen- ASAP (Australian skin approved products)

I am at the moment undecided about this sunscreen. This is because I have only used it in conjunction with the ASAP cleanser and scrub, which did terrible things to my skin, drying it out ridiculously and casing huge blind pimples. I don't know if the sunscreen is to blame for this, I think it would have been the cleanser and scrub which contain high levels of glycolic acid and drying eucalyptus. I am now using dermalogica's ultracalming cleanser and jurlique calendula cream and my skin is recovering rapidly. I may try the sunscreen again soon, and report back on how it goes... the packaging is in a pump bottle which I like as it's clean and functional, and the smell is good- not overpowering at all. The consistency is smooth and very nice to use, however it takes a few moments to sink in. Does not leave a white cast.

Moisturizers -Ultraceuticals - Antioxidant Daily Moisturiser with SPF 30+

This is an excellent sunscreen which does not break me out, and is one of the least greasy I have come across. It is still however quite greasy for my skin in summer, and another down point is that it leaves a very very slight white cast. Since I have extremely pale skin, this is not a huge issue for me though. The sun protection is definitely very good, I have never burnt when wearing this, even in the harsh Australian sun.

This is a saviour for inflammed, irritated or dried out skin. I am acne prone and this doen't break me out, but is very calming and nourishing.

Moisturizers -Nivea - Oil Free Moisturizing Fluid
rated 4 of 5

This is a very good basic moisturiser for those with oily skin. It's not extremely hydrating if you need intense moisturisation, however if there is nothing drastically wrong with your skin, or you have acne, this is a very suitable moisturiser. Great under makeup and quite soothing due to the allantoin.

Cleansers -Dermalogica - Ultra Calming Cleanser

This is awesome. I recently had a dried out disaster due to too many AHAs and BHAs and this completely soothed and calmed my skin. Will definitely repeurchase this. A great cleanser for winter, which calms acne and doesn't dry your skin out.

Powder -Jane Iredale - Pure Pressed Base

A word of warning: Keep this in the little blue suede case that it comes in. I made the mistake of not doing this and the pretty gold compact got all ugly and scratched looking from rubbing against other items in my makeup case. The actual make up is the best. I have sensitive, acne proned, dry and combo skin. This gives light-medium buildable coverage. I apply with the body shop face and body brush and it looks flawless. I'm PPP and wear Warm silk. If my skin is a tad dry and I apply it with the m/u pad that comes with it, it looks chalky and gross. So I try to make sure my skin is moisturised and fresh and prefer applying with a big brush. I wear JI whisper blush on top and my skin has never responded negatively. I would describe the finish as matte. I also sometimes use the dissapear concealer over and/or under this when I have a hideous breakout, and it is well disguised. I will repurchase as I like the ethos behind the ingredients and I don't feel guilty or scared that my makeup is making my skin worse when I wear this.

Blush -Jane Iredale - Pure Pressed Blush in Whisper

I love the colour, consistensy and the way it and feels. But I dropped it on the floor and it smashed so that now if I'm going out and put it in my makeup bag it spills everywhere. I'm definitely repurchasing though because it's the prettiest blush I've used: subtle, peachy/ pink with the teensy teeniest bit of sparkle... definitely not prostitute like... gets lots o compliments :)

Cleansers -Garnier - Pure Deep Clean Cream Wash
rated 5 of 5

this is really good. non- drying for sensitive skin (and mine is pretty horribly sensitive). Leaves skin soft and clean. This is great in summer. I use it together with the dramatically diff. clinique moisturizing gel and it feels soooo good. Really refreshing but not at all drying or harsh. I haven't road tested it in winter though... i'd probably stick to something more milky like the nutrogena extra gentle one or only use it @ night.

Cleansers -Weleda - Iris Cleansing Lotion

Beleive them when they say this is not for sensitive skin- This gave my skin a burning sensation and made it dry, red and sore. Its unfortunate because I loved the smell and texture. it seems to be full of oils which remain on your face even after you rinse it off? If this feeling is not one you like (i didn't like it) then you would have to use a toner or another cleanser afterwards.

Sunscreen -Paula's Choice - Essential Non-Greasy Sunscreen spf 15
rated 2 of 5
phoeb 11/3/2005 9:49:00 PM

I got a sample of this in the mail and was v. unimpressed. Firstly I don't see why someone would want to use a seperate sunscreen with only an spf of 15 when you could a) use a seperate sunscreen with spf 30 or b) use moisturiser with inbuilt spf 15 I used this after the cleanser and moisturiser for combo skin. Liked the cleanser but did not like the moist. or the sunscreen. Why is it called non greasy? It was horrible and oily!!! Thankful I tried samples first... would not purchase.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
rated 4 of 5
phoeb 10/31/2005 4:25:00 AM

I really think proactiv is a good system. Its easy to use and relatively inexpensive AND it makes my skin perfect. I have quite sensitive skin so I only use it in the evening, and it doesn't irritate my skin when I do this. I have been irritated far more by cheap products from l'oreal and garnier. Anyway I think it's great and I'm going to keep on using it because when I do I never EVER get pimples. I took one lippie off because I can only use it in the nighttime or it would be to drying.

This is the only protein treatment I can use without worrying that the stuff is drying out my hair. I like Mastey's whole approach to haircare.

Nice ingredients. Nice results. It's one of the few things I'm not frightened to use on my dry, damaged hair.

Cleansers -Nivea - Refreshing cleansing lotion

I really like it! I use this in winter and the gel in summer and they work like a dream. Nivea in my opinion is the best supermarket skin care line. My only gripe is its a little heavy on the fragrance, but that said i have sensitive skin and their products don't irritate me.
