Crème -Unlisted Brand - Dermacol Make-up Cover
philipjfryxx 4/21/2013 12:08:00 PM
First review? Can't belive it. I live in Czech republic and this is a creme foundation from our brand Dermacol. It is an extreme-full coverage foundation containing 50% of pigments, so it covers 5-3 times better than your average foundation. You get 30g / 1 oz. for 6-30$ - depends on where do you buy it. (6$ in Czech republic, around 30$ in USA or Australia). It comes in a tube made of plastic or alluminium (the new ones are plastic), the colour of the packaging is golden. There are 13 shades avaible - from 207-224. The lightest one is 208, it is almost a white colour with neutral undertone. (btw - it doesn't always mean that the higher the number the darker the colour.. check swatches online). So, the consistency is thick and creamy. The product is not really blendeable, you have to put it on some piece of plastic (or palette, i don't recommend your hand) and use a 190 MAC (or any other similar brush) to apply it. Many people use it as a concealer because it covers even more than most of the concealers on the market. I mix it with primer or moisturizer to get medium-full coverage & better blendeability. The finish is semi-matte, you have to use a primer and powder to make it matte. It lasts all day. It is silicone, paraben, alcohol and talc-free. My HG foundation that I use everyday. I am NC20-25 and I use colour 221 mixed with a little bit of 208 in winter and 221 by itself in summer.

Brows -E.L.F. - Eyebrow Kit
philipjfryxx 4/5/2013 5:00:00 PM
Wow! One of the best ELF products at least for me! So, as you probably already know, it comes in beautiful sleek, typical-for-ELF-studio-line-inspired-by-NARS packaging. You get 2g (i guess, don't have it here right now) of product. So, you have two different products in the little box you buy. A powder and a gel or wax or however you want to call it. Both of them are REALLY pigmented, i was like.. WOWOWOW! I have thick and relatively good shape of eyebrows, so i just want to fill'em a bit everyday. I just use the powder part of the DARK colour to fill my brows, it's enough. For some dramatic look, i'd go for the gel and i'd fix it with the powder then. I don't use the small brush that it comes with but no-named small point-really-tiny brush, that is round and not as fluffy as the one that it comes with, but has a long handle so it's much easier to work with it. Anyways, the colours are little bit weird. The DARK one is not that dark, the gel maybe but the powder is med-dark brown with warmer tones, i'd prefer something darker and little bit cooler. Actually, the colour difference between these two things is really huge. Anyways, it's perfect!

Makeup Brushes -Essence - Powder Brush

Great brush for applying pressed powders, when you don't want them to cake on your face. It's not a really dense brush and also not the softest on the market, but for that price?... Not good for loose powders.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
philipjfryxx 4/5/2013 4:44:00 PM
MAC NC15-20; Revlon Colorstay: Sand beige 180 Combination skin - dry cheeks & chin, oily nose and quite oily forehead. - - - COLOUR: I have it in colour 20, i can wear it on its own, but it's little bit too light so i usually mix it with my MAC matchmaster 2.0 PACKAGING: Okay. At first; the packaging is CRAZZZZZY! It looks so smaaaaall! I saw some pictures & videos of it before buying it (i bought it online without trying it - crazy right?). You get 1 fl. oz./30ml which is really a standart size of almost every foundation. So; handy, really travel-friendly, but plastic, looking cheap and the letters rub off. THAAAAT SUUUUCKS. TEXTURE: Well... Creamy. Not liquidy at all, but also not thick, just nice & creamy. Blendeable. COVERAGE: Medium. Always, when somebody says "Yayyy this is full coverage" and then i try it, always i end up with maybe medium. I don't know, but this is not full. But with layering, it can be. With one layer, it's the better medium. Better than Colorstay. FINISH: Well.. Matte. Really matte. I hoped this will have that beautifully smooth velvety (well it says it's Mat VELVET, so you'd expect that right?) matte finish, but no. It is the typical matte, almost dry looking finish. Nice, but not really natural. LASTING POWER: I don't have problem with ANY foundation in case of the lasting power. I apply my foundation everyday at 7.00 and remove it probably at about 18.00-20.00 and it still looks okay. Already not that matte, of course, after few hours i am little bit shiny on my nose, but whatever. Depens on a primer or powder you use. APPLICATION: I dot this all over my face (no putting on the back of my hand, no. This is creamier than my other liquid foundations, so for me, it is better to dot it on my face 'cause otherwise my brushes just soak a lot of product) I use round top kabuki brushes (Ecotools Bamboo Bronzer Brush) PRICE: WOHOHO! You're paying at least $42 (depends on where you buy it, on our country it's $55) for a PIECE OF PLASTIC with some 30ml of liquid in it. Crazy right? WORTH IT/REPURCHASE: No. It is a nice foundation, but the difference between this and some cheaper ones i tried is not that huge (Colorstay, you know i'm talking about you! :P) SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH BTW

This is THE brush. The best brush in the world... At least for me! I love this for applying liquid foundation, pressed powder, mineral foundation... Everything! What else should I say? Cheap, not the cheapest but the quality is even much better than a lot of high-end brushes. Love ecotools <3

Liquid -MAC - Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation
philipjfryxx 3/25/2013 11:47:00 AM
NC15-NC20, normal/oily skin (but gets dehydrated easily), yellow/olive undertones --- Okay, I have it in colour 2.0. Don't buy this, if you are on the lighter side of NC20, it's just quite dark, more for NC25-28 I'd say. Anyways, I can wear it. Usually mixing it with 180 revlon colorstay - i get perfeeeeeect match then. PERRRRFECT. The 2.0 colour is quite orangey toned, definitely not pink or cool toned - good for us living in Springfield! (okay, just trying to be funny, hahahha) The finish is quite matte, but after a while it can get shiny. Definitely needs to be set with powder. (well, who doesn't set a foundation with powder? -_-) THE "MATCHMASTER" thing.. Well... No. I applied it on my NC10 hand and I just had orange line there. Waited for like 30 minutes and no, it maybe oxidized a bit and doesn't look that orange, but still doesn't match. Anyways, my mistake, I should buy the 1.5 probably. Coverage is good medium - not too light or too heavy for everyday use. Just perfect for me. Packaging is perfect - that's what I love about MAC. Okay, sounds weird. I just LOVELOVELOVE how their products look. Thanks god for the pump. The consistency is quite dry... I mean... Not DRYING, but dry. When I swatch/apply my baby REVLON colorstay, it looks liquidy - watery a little while, this already goes on matte ... I don't know. The texture is just weird. Special. But blends nicely and is not too runny or thick. Doesn't make some of my dry patches more visible, looks smooth, covers pores & redness & blemishes. Okay, I live in Czech republic. I'm a student buying make-up with my own money. MAC is sooo expensive there. This foundation is about $46 here. That's a lot! Will I repurchase? Probably not. It's a perfect foundation, there are just so many other ones that I want to try too.

Cleansers -Bioderma - Sebium H2O
philipjfryxx 3/18/2013 11:45:00 AM
LOVE THIS SOO MUCH. I love to use these types of cleansers in morning - i just put few drops on my cottonpads and quickly go over my face - it's super clean, not sticky or anything, matte and even little bit moisturized (or NOT dry definitely) At night i like to remove my make-up more with gel-foaming cleansers (Bioderma Sebium cleanser or La roche posay effaclar cleanser), because for me it's faster. But removes make-up anyways better than any cleanser (i tried Bioderma, Vichy, Avene, La roche posay, Drugstore (Garnier, L'Oreal..), Sephora products) that i've ever had. The price is high. But worth it.

Cleansers -TheFACEShop - Herb Day Cleansing Foam, Clarifying Acerola
philipjfryxx 1/29/2013 9:50:00 AM
Amazing cleanser. I have probably the same product but just in re-designed packaging, it's called the same. The product is just FANTASTIC. The texture is creamy, not like some gel as other foaming cleansers, this is just a nice creamy foam. Little goes a long way, the bottle is 170ml and you need just a little bit more than a pea-size for your whole face. It is for all skin types - it doesn't contain any agressive or drying ingredients - it is really gentle but cleans everything! Also i feel like it helps my break-outs, 'cause i've been using just some sulfate-based (this doesn't contain SULFATES!!!) cleansers with salycilic acid and other "awesome" acne treating things, but they were just overdrying my skin. Also the smell is gorgeous, really soft but fantastic. LOVE this cleanser sooo much! And for that price!!! You get 170ml for 8$ on Ebay!!!

Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer
philipjfryxx 1/29/2013 8:41:00 AM
UPDATE 13.3.2013 I found many cheaper concealers workong better than this. Doesn't last long, creases. ORIGINAL review: Well, i have oily/normal (winter) T-zone and dry cheeks, really acne-prone and full-of-redness light (neutral/yellow undertones) skin. I have this in NC20, little bit too yellow for me, but i want to cover redness with this, so it works amazing and neutralizes the red colour. Also under my eyes it works great, the coverage is really amazing and a little goes a long way! The price is 18$ in US i guess, here, in Czech rep., it is almost twice the US price but still - worth it! This concealer will last you forever and will work wonderfully, so you don't have to buy and try new and new ones. Also the packaging is really nice&small so you can take it everywhere. I just recommend to put primer or moisturizer under it, it will blend better (itself it's really blendable but works better with primer or moisturizer). Also use powder if you put it under your eyes (or.. Everywhere), it will last longer and won't fill your finelines. LOVE IT

Treatments -Vichy - Normaderm Night Chrono-Action Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care
philipjfryxx 1/23/2013 11:57:00 AM
Perfect primer (yes, PRIMER, really), smoothes the skin soooo well, also well mattifying and still moisturizing, pores are less visible, helps with redness little bit. But doesn't help with acne or breakouts - maybe it will, i use it just for week or two.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
philipjfryxx 1/23/2013 11:54:00 AM
Okay, editing this review on 23/03/2013. My drugstore love. Everything's been said already. I have my 4th bottle of this, finally a close (80%) match. NC20 = 180 Sand beige. 150 was tooooooooo neutral (24h formula) and quite light. 180 is warmer and bit darker. - Anyways: * Great MEDIUM buildable coverage (no, not FULL coverage, but with two layers maybe) * Great LASTING POWER (7.00 - 20.00 = at least 13 hours, I haven't had it on for longer time) * Nice MATTE finish (okay, maybe too matte for me, looks quite "flat") * Bad colour range. Okay, a lot of shades, but not enough yellow undertones! DAMN. * PUMP!!!! Pump pump pump. We need it, Revlon!!!!!!

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector for Combination to Oily Skin - Light
philipjfryxx 1/23/2013 11:49:00 AM
I didn't really expect much from this product but it surprised me. The light colour is not really light - i have really light yellow undertoned skin and this one is little bit to dark, but when blended, looks okay. The texture is really watery - you have to storage your bottle upside down or the product will just run out of the bottle. But still i like the texture - it is not heavy and easy to blend. Coverage is fine. I have really pink cheeks naturally and it looks horrible - it covers them almost, but it doesn't cover blemishes or acne scaring. It smells like an alcohol - well that's because it's one of the main ingredients - but still it doesn't dry my combinated skin (cheeks and around mouth - dry, forehead, chin & nose - oily) and is quite mattiying. But it's better to use a powder over it. If you set it with powder (well that depens on which powder do you use), it stays on all the day. Really good for school days, weekends or events when you just want to have an even skin tone and nothing really heavy and full coverage. I apply it with flat foundation brush, flat top kabuki brush or my hands. Recommend and i'll repurchase it. I have one bottle already for 6 months and use it 3-4 times a week, 1/2 - 1/3 still left. + blendeable, not heavy, not drying, still mattifying - texture, could be little bit creamier, little bit orange, packaging

Concealers -E.L.F. - Complete Coverage Concealer
philipjfryxx 1/23/2013 11:38:00 AM
My first ELF product ever and i can say - i don't like it, it's useless. I think that having a perfect colour of concealer is really important - so that's why i wanted some pallete and be able to mix some colours together and get perfect match for me. Well i couldn't mix anything at all, because the texture is so DRY, you can try to use the horrible and useless brush that you get with these concealers (in the packaging), you can rub it with your fingers, but it is really impossible to get any product out of the "box". It is really not blendeable and really thick and the coverage is really light. I don't recommend this and i won't repurchase it definitely. (BTW I have the LIGHT colours and i saw some YT videos saying that the LIGHT pallete is really thick and not-easy to use but the MEDIUM and DARK are creamy and blendeable. But i don't know, i am really fair.) There are two lighter and two darker colours - 1st and 3rd are with pink undertone, 2nd and 4th are with yellow undertone. + Nice packaging including mirror and (useless) brush - Everything else Sorry for my english
