The bristles are soft to touch, yet it is firm and picks up a good amount of colour. The retractable design makes it very travel-friendly. The top isn't completely covered, but it doesn't bother me because the opening is very small, and I also clean my brushes regularly (especially with lip brushes, liquid/cream products can breed a lot of bacteria). Price is a bit steep, but I've managed to use this for a good 5-6 years.
Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst Fruit Infusions Reviving Cleanser
phalaenopsis_619 12/31/2012 9:23:00 AM
I haven't use C&C products for so many years because I never think their products are very good. I was attracted to the packaging of this cleanser and I needed a cheap drugstore facial cleanser at that time. It smells nice and the pump dispenses an adequate amount of product. The "strawberry seeds" designed for massaging is fun to use (it pops after a few rubs). I wasn't expecting much when I bought this product, but after using it I also didn't think it had very great cleansing ability. Considering this product is designed for oily/combination skin, it's a below average product because it doesn't clean dirt and/or grease very well.
Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Body Cream - Warm Vanilla Sugar
phalaenopsis_619 12/31/2012 9:09:00 AM
It's a decent moisturizer that quickly absorbs and isn't greasy. To me it's a mildly fragranced body cream that smells sweet but isn't overly cloying.
Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tin
phalaenopsis_619 12/29/2012 11:18:00 PM
Unlike other lipbalms that are contained in tins, this lip balm is very hard (wax-like) and cannot be scooped out by finger or brush (I never tried with a knife or spoon, but I can assure you the texture is very hard). I ended up applying the lip balm directly from the tin. It's also a mediocre lip balm that doesn't do anything for your lips.
Doesn't really smell like honey. It's a mediocre lip balm that doesn't really do anything for your lips.
Treatments -Garnier - Fructis Damage Repair Instant Repair Mask
phalaenopsis_619 12/29/2012 11:02:00 PM
According to instruction, it's a leave-in treatment conditioner that you can wash off immediately right after applying. I don't see how this can effectively moisturize/condition your hair. The texture is also very thin, it doesn't even feel as creamy as normal conditioner.
Deodorants -Nivea - Happy Time Anti-perspirant Stick
phalaenopsis_619 11/20/2012 10:21:00 PM
It has a mild orange flower fragrance, isn't too overwhelming and doesn't clash with any other fragrance. It's very long-lasting and eliminates any body odour produced from sweating. Overall an excellent deodourant.
Gels/Soaps -Nivea - Happy Time Cream Shower Bamboo Milk & Orange Blossom
phalaenopsis_619 7/31/2012 11:03:00 AM
I bought this when it was on sale (and came with a free Nivea deodourant). I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is a terrific product. The orange blossom scent isn't very overpowering and smells very warm and refreshing. This is a very moisturizing body wash. Skin is perfectly moisturized after using it.
Skincare - Body -Nivea - Pearl and Beauty Antiperspirant deodorant
phalaenopsis_619 7/31/2012 10:58:00 AM
I have this in the stick form. It has a soapy fragrance, which started to annoy me after I've used it for a few months. It does stay on for a long time, and is effective enough to deodourize for at least 7 hours in summer. I don't notice any marks left behind by this deodourant (despite being milky in colour).
Masks -Kose - Cosmeport Clear Turn White Mask Sheet (22pcs) - Blue Package
phalaenopsis_619 7/31/2012 10:55:00 AM
Don't expect too much from this product. It's a dirt cheap mask that's great to moisturize (you can almost use it daily), and is especially great if you need to deep-moisturize before applying foundation on. I usually keep the container upside down so that the moisturizing lotion can absorb in the top layer (the mask that I'm about to pull out to use next time).
I needed a new exfoliating product and this was very cheap when I bought it. It's a gentle gel with microbeads inside (the beads will burst when you rub on it). To use, you dry your face and then apply the product on your face and start exfoliating. The gel will scrub out eraser-like white particles which is supposed to be your dead skin (as a science student, and also a consumer who have used many similar products of this type, I don't believe in the claim that this white eraser-like stuff is entirely your dead skin). I think it's an okay product, not bad if you need a very gentle exfoliating gel. If you need a stronger exfoliating product, then this will not be the right one. Product description: Skin-rejuvenating peeling gel removes dull and rough surface skin, minimizing pore size and smoothing out skin with continued use. AHA softens skin, making it easy to peel off dead skin cells and reveal the more radiant layer underneath. Nano collagen then supplies needed moisture while trehalose traps moisture for round-the-clock softer and smoother skin
I can't feel much effect with this product. I usually expect clay mask to deep-cleanse and control oiliness of skin. It's like one of those products where it just does nothing to your skin. Maybe it's because I don't have too much skin problem so I can't tell how effective this product is. Either way I think I'll still repurchase this if I need a cheap clay mask.
I never liked this product. I have it in 415 translucent medium, and it was one tone darker than my natural skin tone, so I ended up using this as a bronzer. I didn't like how it had a lot of glitter in the powder. The case wasn't very durable either. The plastic easily cracked after a few falls. The dispenser holes were also too large and too much powder came out as a result.
I'm pleasantly surprised with this product. I had a bad irritation with another Nair product previously, so I was hesitant to try another Nair product. I have the hair removal cream kit that comes with the removal cream and moisturizing finishing lotion. The hair removal cream doesn't smell amazing but it doesn't stink either (just your normal shaving cream smell). It does remove coarse hair very well after you leave it on for 5 minutes. It's quite gentle on skin (I must have got the sensitive skin formula). I don't know if the moisturizing finishing lotion was really useful, but it was a lightweight lotion and it was nice to put on some lotion that doesn't irritate your skin after shaving.
Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Hydrafresh Moisturizer (normal/dry/combo)
phalaenopsis_619 7/31/2012 10:15:00 AM
I picked this moisturizer as a summer day moisturizer since it has SPF 15, and it's a gel-cream. It comes with a typical L'oreal floral fragrance. I didn't quite like this product in the end because it was very very greasy. I needed to blot my face immediately after I apply this lotion.
