Blush -L'Oreal - Blush Delice Sheer Powder Blush - Color of Hope

Just picked this up yesterday. Boy, was it hard to find! The sales girl at Walgreens had 2 hidden behind the counter, so they're going fast. I am blonde/greeneyed/NC30/MMM and it looks lovely on me! ;) I usually wear warmer shades of blush, but this one is kind of a plummy/rose on me and more rose than plum. Very pretty and different than what I usually wear. It brightens up the face and adds a bit of shimmer to it. Lasting power is great also. Would buy it again, but unfortunately it is a limited edition. Try it (if you can find it) I think this would work well for most skintones. Compact is very cute too.

Shampoo -Aveda - Blue Malva Shampoo & Conditioner

I like this.....a lot! I'm due for a touch up on my blonde highlights soon so my hair has been looking a little dull lately. Not brassy just kind of lifeless and blah! This added some body and shine back to it. I like it a little better than the Clairol Shimmer Lights that I've used in the past, I think. Have not tried the conditioner, their Color Conserve seems to work fine with it. This stuff smells great too! Will definitely buy it again.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Fantastic Lash [DISCONTINUED]

Hmmmm! I also wanted to like this since the reviews were so good but...this stuff is awful. Maybe I got a old dried up batch or something. It's drying, heavy, clumpy, flakey and it smudges. Everything a girl wants in a mascara....if you're Tammy Faye Baker or Courtney Love! Packaging is kind of cute but a tad on the large side and takes up too much room in my brush holder thingy. Will I buy this again? Nooooooooo!!!!

Makeup Brushes -Cover Girl - Make-up Masters Eye Shadow Brush

Have to agree with everything said in the review below. This is actually one of my favorite brushes. It's very inexpensive at about $5 and is just as nice or better than my highend ones. It's wide, very dense and is very soft. I use it exclusively for applying BE Bisque as a shadow base and for concealing. Pick one of these babies up....I think you'll be surprised! :)

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Nude Lustre
rated 4 of 5
peridot7 7/9/2004 3:39:00 AM

I was suprised that I liked these as well as I do. They have a thicker texture than I usually care for but I like them anyway! Nude Lustre is a nice shade but not as nude as I'd like. I have very pigmented lips naturally so it's a little darker on me than most. It shows up as a pretty pinkish/beige. Just enough shine for me as I'm not a big fan of shiny, sticky gloss. Lasting power could be better but it's about the same as most lipsticks/glosses I guess. Not much left after eating or drinking, but I am rather spoiled by Cover Girl Outlast that wears all day. (love those babies) Would I purchase again? .... Yes, I picked up Glossy Rose a week or so later. These are reasonably priced and easy to find. They're cheap, they're pretty ....so go get one! :)

Shampoo -Clairol - Shimmer Lights
rated 3 of 5

I really like this for brightening up my highlights. Especially just before a touch up. Adds a little shine and gets rid of the dullness that sometimes happens with old color. I use Aveda color on my hair that actually does not get brassy but needs a pick me up after 3 months or so. Reasonably priced at 8 or 9 bucks at Sally's. Would definitely repurchase unless I decided to shell out a little more money for Aveda Blue Malva. :))

Update: Bought the Blue Malva and I think it does a better job at brightening up the color. So, I've deleted a lipstick from this one. Will stick with the Aveda.

Lipstick -Bare Escentuals - lip quickie #6
rated 2 of 5
peridot7 7/4/2004 3:22:00 PM

Hmmm...nice concept and works great when adding another shade, glimmer, shimmer or whatever on top of your lipstick. However, I can do this with just about any of my regular lipsticks. Looks very pretty after dipping into your favorite e/s or blush or whatever, but it doesn't last long if you eat, drink or lick your lips a lot. Got this in a TSV, nice to have in my collection, but wouldn't not purchase it.

Great brow brush! Very firm, picks up the pigment well and applies nicely. Would most likely repurchase.

Makeup Brushes -Bare Escentuals - Liner Brush

Perfect....in everything you're looking for in an eyeliner brush. It gives you a very thin precise line and best of all it doesn't "flair out" like most of them and it keeps it's shape. Love it and probably wouldn't purchase anything else if I needed another one.

Toners -Neutrogena - Pore Refining Toner
rated 5 of 5
peridot7 7/4/2004 2:59:00 PM

I have used this for about 3 years now. I don't have large pores but once in a while they are more visible than I'd like on my nose and cheeks. This stuff really tightens them up. It's a bit drying so I just use it 2 or 3 times a week, but that's what they make moisturizers for, right? The bottle is large & the price is about $6 or so and you can find it in any drugstore or grocery store. I've tried lots of high end toners but frankly this has worked better for me than any of them. I have normal/dry mature skin.

Brows -Lancome - Le crayon sourcils
rated 5 of 5

I am lovin' this pencil! I've been using Mary Kay's eyebrow pencil for many years and although it's the best shade I've found in a pencil for my almost non-existent brows, it still gives me that pencily eyebrow look most of the time. I have not had much luck with powder alone because they just don't seem to show up well and my brows are never even. So I've been using both and it takes forever to make my brows look right. Yes, I've tried stencils, they don't me help much. This gives me the control of a pencil for shaping with a more natural look of powder to fill in. The brush on the other end is another plus, no fumbling around for another tool to finish your brows. Great lasting power, stays put all day. It runs about $20 or so but I found one on ebay for $10, so that ain't bad!! The shade I use is Blonde - light brown and the perfect shade. Will definitely repurchase.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Outlast
rated 5 of 5
peridot7 4/27/2004 6:54:00 PM

I own about 6 of these and don't know what I'd do without them!! As I read the other reviews it appears to me that maybe some people don't have the application down right. I had some of the same problems I see mentioned in the beginning; too dry, too flakey, etc. So, this is what I do.

First, make sure your lips are dry and exfoliated somewhat. You will have a problem with this sticking to your lips if you don't. Wipe almost all of the product off of the wand into the tube. Apply a very thin coat on your bottom lip first and then put your lips together, don't move them around just press. Add a little more to the top lip to line and blot lips together again. Make sure the color is even on top and bottom. Blot your lips on something (not kleenex) like paper or whatever just to take off any excess that may be clumpy later. Wait til it dries and add the gloss. You do have to apply the gloss throughout the day after eating, drinking, etc. But I would much rather do that then reapply lipstick every half hour or so. With this stuff you've still got color on your lips the whole day, no matter what you do. The gloss is nice too. Not too shiny and not sticky. Just right for me! Hope this helps somebody because finding a lip color that actually stays on with no worries is a real big deal for most of us.

Another favorite from BE! This is such a nice neutral everyday shade that goes with just about anything. As one reviewer described it below...think milk chocolate. Would definitely repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Glimpse - Black Pearl
rated 2 of 5
peridot7 4/27/2004 3:06:00 PM

This is a real pretty shade of purple with a "hint" of shimmer that seems to disappear a bit after you blend it for some reason. Unfortunately, it is a little too dark and harsh looking for me. I do use it as a liner once in a while, which shows up as a shimmery dark purple. This may work for some people, but not for me so it gets a rather low rating. I received this as part of a QVC TSV about a year and a half ago but would not repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Glimmer- Antique Pearl
rated 4 of 5
peridot7 4/27/2004 2:35:00 PM

First of all, this is not a glimmer but a glimpse. There's a difference. Glimmers are glittery whereas glimpses are shimmery! A totally different look. That said, this particular shade is quite unique. Looks yellow in the pot but gives a more pinky/peach look after applied. You can use it alone as a wash or mix it up with something on top or underneath for a very unusual look. I like this and use it often, but not a lot, if that makes any sense! And as usual for all BE eye shadows it has amazing lasting power. Would probably buy it again.
