Eyeliner -MAC - Superslick Liquid Liner - On the Hunt
pennywhistlepoem 4/20/2013 7:33:00 AM
I really like this eyeliner. Previously I have used MAC gel eyeliners with various different brushes that some claim is impossible not to get a good look with. It would take me a good 15-20 minutes to get the look right, with plenty of revisions. It all just became frustrating in the end until i stopped using eyeliner. But then I found this product. I like it because the brush is quite stiff, so it doesn't go everywhere and ruin your makeup. Yes, perhaps you have limited maneuvre ability with the stiffer end and you can't do amazing twists and turns with your liner but whatever. I just need to be able to put on eyeliner and this works fine for that. It is also quite a bold black and it takes only one swipe to achieve that. It stays on all day, never smudges and it was still flawless after I took a shower once. Perfecto!

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish - Porcelain Pink
pennywhistlepoem 4/20/2013 7:26:00 AM
This is a beautiful product but needs improvement. Cute, slightly on the pink side highlighter. But the texture is just a tad cakey for a highlighter. With such a beautiful colour, it would be perfect if it was more like a Shimmerbrick. Unfortunately it feels like it doesn't completely blend with my skin when I put it on.

Top/Base Coats -Poshe - Super-Fast Drying Top Coat
pennywhistlepoem 4/20/2013 7:24:00 AM
I went through 5 bottles of this product. Could not rave enough. My nail polish lasts twice as long without chipping, and brittle nails feel so strong when I have a single layer of this topcoat on my nail polish. My mani still looks as fresh and shiny as day 1 few days later. Now I use the Poshe base coat as well. But just the top coat is more than enough. It becomes a bit thick towards the end of the bottle. But I think just about every polish product does. 11/10

Polishes -Essie - Sand Tropez

I am not big on nude polishes but this one is my favorite one ever. Yes it's thick, but it still applies easily and perfectly. Two layers, a top coat and you have yourself a flawless finish. Worth every penny!

Shampoo -Aveda - Shampure
pennywhistlepoem 9/3/2012 6:12:00 AM
This product, along with the conditioner revitalised my hair. I had dry, fine, curly hair that tends to become incredibly frizzy and unmanageable throughout the day. I have tried many products, ranging from drugstore shampoo to Kerastase. They would either dry my hair out (like the clarifying products) or weight my hair down(like Bain Satin series). Then there was Shampure. After I started using this product, along with the conditioner, my hair is soft, shiny, bouncy and oh so healthy. It made such a difference that my friends notice it. It is natural, not over the top expensive, smells great, and transforms your hair. Incredible! Yes it may be a little drying but I think that is because it gets rid of all the stuff that has build up on your hair. How do I know this? Well, before I started using this product, I'd have oily disgusting residue building up on the sides of the ceramic plate of my GHD. I'd find a fair bit of it after I straighten my hair a couple of times and I'd have to clean it up with a piece of cotton. Since I've started using this product, there is almost nothing building up there. I highly recommend you guys try this stuff.

Treatments -Kerastase - Oleo-Relax Serum
pennywhistlepoem 2/5/2012 4:44:00 PM
I don't know what I would do if I didn't come across this product. I have fine hair that looks nice and curly when wet, but turns into a ball of fluff when it is not. The ends are very dry and the back used to look awful because of this dryness. I tried many other products from Kerastase and other brands before but this one is the real deal. This product weighs my hair down without making it look greasy. I apply a little on my dry ends after washing my hair, use the hairdryer to dry my hair completely, then make a bun with a hair tie (helps make it more straight), and then voila. My hair isn't fluffy, dry, frizzy or terrible anymore. It is a serum so of course you need to apply very little, otherwise your hair is sure to get oily.

Concealers -MAC - Pro Longwear concealer
pennywhistlepoem 2/5/2012 4:37:00 PM
Best $17 I have ever spent on make up. Absolutely fantastic product. I am NW20 but have an overall brownish discolouration around my eye area. I use this product to cover my whole eye area every morning and it lasts the whole day and night. It is very lightweight, offers medium to full coverage, does not cake or settle in the fine lines under my eye and corrects the colour perfectly. My skin is pretty good other than this discolouration but I used to use foundation to even out the red areas, especially in winter when my face gets very pink. Since buying this concealer I haven't touched my foundation. I press the pump once, use half of it on the eyes and the rest around my nose and chin. And let me repeat it lasts WHOLE DAY AND NIGHT! This concealer is 11/10.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete Defense Daily UV Moisturizer SPF 30 - Sensitive Skin
pennywhistlepoem 12/15/2011 8:33:00 PM
I have dry and sensitive skin and I use this product few times a day during summer. It's my HD summer product. Easy to apply texture, not too light like some lotions, it's just right. It doesn't break me out, it's not greasy, and it's very cheap compared to some high end brands.Highly recommended.

Blush -NARS - Luster
pennywhistlepoem 12/15/2011 7:18:00 PM
I am NW20 and all my blushers are in pale pink an coral tones. This is my first bronzer like product. I received it in the mail today and oh my my it looks gorgeous in the pan. Now I am completely at a loss as to how to make this product work. Lovely texture as per usual NARS, easy to apply, just the right amount of shimmer. But it looks quite orange on me. I understand that it will look gorgeous on skins darker than NW/NC30 or if you have a tan. If you look through reviews you'll see that the positive ones are all from people with the mentioned skin tone anyway. But if you are pale like me it may not work on you.

I can't begin to tell you how great this product is. I have thin, curly and frizzy hair that I straighten with GHD every 2-3 days.I have been doing this for 2 years. Before I discovered this magical product I would watch my hair grow and the ends become utterly dry, destroyed and broken as I straighten. For the past two years I HAD TO visit my hair dresser every 8 weeks to get a trim because my hair would become a ball of dry and frizz that I couldn't even brush without screaming. I could never grow my hair long. I couldn't believe the difference when I used this product for 2 months while still straightening every 2-3 days. I THOUGHT 'the two months is up and my hair is still looking healthy and I don't really have broken ends.WHAT IS GOING ON?!!?!' This product protects your hair from heat very successfully and reduces the damage done by the heat greatly. My hair looks and feels so much healthier than before. Now I get my trim every 3 months because it's recommended for everyone, not because my hair looks like I soaked it in acid overnight. Not to mention I can actually grow my hair longer than I ever could before. Strongly recommended!

Liquid -Laura Mercier - moisturizing foundation

Best winter foundation ever. I am NW/NC20 and I use this foundation in Blush Ivory when I want my skin to look flawless for a long time. The texture is very smooth and liquid-y and blends beautifully. Great coverage and staying power too.

Blush -MAC - Satin Blush - Well Dressed
pennywhistlepoem 11/23/2011 3:50:00 AM
This is my HD blush and I went through 3 pans already. It is sheer but not invisible; it does show on my NW20 skin. I am one for subtle make up and this is great on the days I just wear tinted moisturizer and mascara. Also looks great with black eye liner and bare lips. Love this blush!

Lotions/ Creams -LUSH - Lemony Flutter
pennywhistlepoem 8/7/2011 1:46:00 AM
This must be the worst thing LUSH has ever produced. Yes it smells great, and yes it melts on your skin like butter but it leaves a shiny, greasy coat on my hands that smudges on anything, and doesn't moisturise or soften my skin at all.

Polishes -Essie - Shop Till I Drop
pennywhistlepoem 7/17/2011 3:20:00 AM
I am not one for sheer, barely there nail polishes but I saw this one and instantly fell in love with the lovely colour in the bottle. The reality however was a disappointment. It gives my nails this dirty look, like orange/yellow kind of dirty look. Can't use it :(

Polishes -Essie - Limited Addiction
pennywhistlepoem 7/17/2011 3:15:00 AM
I doubt there could be a sexier red nail polish than this one. It's a blood red with a dark twist. It applies very smoothly and lasts 5-6 days without chipping. 11/10, highly recommended.
