Eyeliner -Clinique - water-resistant eyeliner
pelini 5/17/2013 4:15:00 PM
I bought this liner because I have contact eczema on my eyelids and my other liner (Physicians Formula liquid) dries out way too fast. This is a much better value. I have it in both colors. The brown is dark and chocolatey. The black is definitely soft -- don't buy it if you are looking for something jet black. It is a great black if you have fair coloring or warm toned skin. What I like about this liner is that none is wasted. It doesn't dry out like cream or liquid liners. The application is extremely easy. The brush it comes with is not bad but I use my bent Elf brush which gives a little more control. The application is precise, the fact that its water soluble makes mistakes easy to fix. You can just go into your lash line with a wet brush and smooth out the lines. You can layer. I love putting this liner on. However, it does fade. I do winged liner and the wings are pretty much gone by midday, but the rest of it stays on. If you are not allergic, you may be able to find something that stays put better. But in terms of application, it is by far my favorite of anything I have used.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Megashield Lip Color SPF 15
pelini 2/11/2013 11:36:00 PM
I love this lipstick. It is moisturizing and the color payoff is good. If you layer, it lasts quite a while. I have it in three colors (one was a mistake but the other two are good.) I especially love Currant Affair -- it is the perfect, warm-toned, wearable red for my medium warm skin tone.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Wild Shine Lipstick
pelini 2/11/2013 11:34:00 PM
I have two of these. The color selection isn't the best. Most colors have too much shimmer for me. However, it is a very creamy, moisturizing formula. The pigmentation is good and the staying power is comparable to any standard lipstick. Definitely a good value.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Last Lipstick
pelini 2/11/2013 11:30:00 PM
The quality of these products is great for the price. The color payoff is great and they stay put for a long time. I can see them being to drying for some people but no more than any other long stay, matte lipstick.

Foundations -Cover Girl - Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation
pelini 2/11/2013 11:26:00 PM
This is decent alternative to Colorstay (combo to oily skin.) It is pretty lightweight. It doesn't blend as easily as some foundations do (I like to apply with my hands and I guess not all foundations are made for that.) I don't think it has the staying power that it claims to have (it is pretty average) and nor does it exactly function as a primer. My pores look huge if I apply it without a primer. The finish is dry -- almost too dry. It doesn't become one with your skin as some foundations can -- you can really see it just sitting there if you look closely. Overall, it is an OK product that may work for you if you have skin that leans toward the oily side. The color selection is not bad, but as always with Cover Girl, the color names are misguiding.

Mascara -Korres - Provitamin B5 & Rice Bran Mascara
pelini 2/11/2013 11:22:00 PM
This is a good mascara if you are going for a natural look. It definitely doesn't volumize much, but it does give you a good deal of length, especially if you layer. I have this in brown which is a dark, muted brown. I haven't noticed any flaking and only minor smudging.

Mascara -Almay - Get Up and Grow
pelini 2/11/2013 11:20:00 PM
I too got this mascara based on emilynoel83's review. This one didn't do it for me. The formula is very dry and not buildable. Your lashes have already dried into little clumps by the time you are ready for the second layer. The brush is long and kind of hard to work with. It lengthens and volumizes a little bit -- pretty average in both. It doesn't flake at all, but smudges a little bit on my lower lid.

Eyeliner -Jordana - Fabu Liner Liquid Eyeliner Pen
pelini 2/11/2013 11:15:00 PM
It is a decent liner, especially for the price. However, I prefer a thinner tip, so I didn't get much use out of it.

Eyeliner -Clinique - Quickliner for Eyes
pelini 1/26/2013 12:46:00 PM
This is a decent, average eye liner. Doesn't smudge a ton, but it does fade. Not as creamy as I would like, but doesn't tug either. There are lots of drugstore liners that will perform similarly though -- Neutrogena, Physicians Formula if you have sensitive eyes and many more brands if you don't.

Blush -Sonia Kashuk - Super Sheer Liquid Tint
pelini 1/26/2013 12:43:00 PM
I love this product. I don't have high cheekbones and I don't like how blushes look on me for the most part. A makeup artist at Sephora put a Guerlain liquid tint on me (nearly $50) and I liked how that looked. So, I started looking for a liquid blush that was cheaper and found this. It looks very natural (I got it in Rose) on my medium skin with warm undertones. Although it is called "Rose," it is a neutral color. It is blendable and covering up your mistakes is easier than with a powder blush.

Eye Shadow -Make Up For Ever - Eye shadows
pelini 1/26/2013 12:38:00 PM
Given the high rating that this shadow gets, I suspect that quality varies between the colors, which is not unusual with shadows. I have this in a matte chocolatey brown and a slightly shimmery taupe. The taupe has zero color payoff. It doesn't show up on my lids at all. I use it to fill in my brows just because it was so expensive. The chocolatey brown is average, nothing to write home about. For the price, there are much better shadows out there.

Eyeliner -Tarte - EmphasEYES waterproof clay eye shadow & liner
pelini 1/26/2013 12:35:00 PM
I didn't like this product. I found it to be less creamy than most gel liners and it tugged a lot, so I couldn't get a smooth line. I ended up returning it. I thought the staying power was decent. It also irritated my lids. If you are prone to contact allergies, the sales people at Sephora keep referring you to "natural" products and Tarte is one. But their eye products may not work for you.

Mascara -Clinique - Lash Building Primer
pelini 1/26/2013 12:29:00 PM
I like this primer. I like dramatic lashes and I am kind of limited in what I can use because I get contact eczema on my lids with most products. I use this primer to add a little volume to my existing mascara, and it does that well. It is buildable and it's easier to create the spidery lash effect with it, if that is something you like. It works really well with Benefit "they're real."

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Mascara
pelini 1/26/2013 12:22:00 PM
This is a decent mascara. It gives you volume and length, is somewhat buildable, but has a tendency to clump. I use it only because I get contact eczema from most eye products. Otherwise, there are other products out there that are better for much cheaper, like Covergirl Lashblast volume.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector for Combination to Oily Skin
pelini 1/26/2013 12:16:00 PM
I was pleasantly surprised by this product. It is very sheer and perfect if you are looking just to even out your skin tone. You don't really have to set it with powder, the finish is dry. It didn't get greasy on me yet -- most products do within 3-4 hours. But I haven't tried it in the summer. The packaging is really bad, like everyone says. It leaks and leaks. Clearly, it should be in a pump bottle.
