Lipstick -Clinique - Long Last - Merlot
rated 5 of 5

Bought it, enjoyed it. As the others have described the colour is very unique - warm red colour, but not too bright, muted red (if that makes sense) - so can be worn for day-time. And being warm red - definitely no blue titnt to it, but rather beige\browny. Another bonus is the covering - it is not absolutely sheer, but not too flat. Looks really natural on lips. I have cool colouring, but despite that I don`t like the look of cool-toned lip products on my lips. They make me look frozen. At the same time warm colours, which are too frankly orange-coral-hot - do not work for me either. In search of some nice shade I`ve bought recently three :((( Clinique lipsticks. And this one I think is the best. The others are not bad but less flattering - Cranberry cream (beautiful red, which is blue-toned rather than warm. but still beautiful colour). And Apple Brandy - which is beautiful on my hand, but I am still on the fence about it when applied on my lips. The price is not too bad, regarding the fact that new Loreal glosses are practically of the same price. Life gets more expensive-:))

Eyeliner -Chanel - Le Crayon Kohl in Marine
rated 3 of 5

I bought it because of the raves. I can`t explain why - but I don`t use it and don`t like it. When I was buying it, I thought the blue-black colour might be interesting, and when applied on the hand the pencil had no blue in it at all - rather it looked like dark gray. In real life the pencil is black with extremely unpleasant (for me) hints of acid blue (acid, teenager color). Another crave that I feel can be overcome only through purchase is the famous Chanel Nude lip liner. I hate to think I might buy it - cause when I am in my sound mind, I DO see it is JUST brown and too dark colour, which can`t be flattering for me more than my favourite Shiseido 05.

Powders -Shiseido - Luminizing Brush Powder
rated 4 of 5
pearlywhite 8/22/2008 2:11:00 PM

The powder is invisible (which is good), very pleasant brush to use, but I shine with it quickly and it has a bulky compact, which I don`t like. Alas, I don`t like Shiseido packaging in general - perhaps should meditate day and night to start liking them. I have it in the lightest colour, which does not make face white, just :luminizing". In general, the powder is good, but blotting papers for me are better.

Powders -Shiseido - The Makeup Loose Powder
rated 5 of 5
pearlywhite 8/22/2008 2:05:00 PM

OOps, I missed again:) I picked up the darker powder (they actually produce only two shades and the light one looked like snow - well, perhaps it looks different on skin). Darker is darker than I need. So I add some talc powder to make it lighter (the powder is talc-based). But if you are more fortunate than me with the color selection - the powder is absolutely superb! It is not visible on the skin, it does not get darker, I don`t shine with it for some hours (oily skin), which is a big deal for loose powder. Just for comparison - I have tries the famous Blended Face Powder by Clinique which was also very satisfactory from shine point of view, but more visible on the face and also I stopped using it cause it has some pore clogging stupid ingredient :( The second powder I am finishing now is La Prairie - which is much thicker, practically looks lika a compact foundation, also has a poor color selection, But I start to shine with La Prairie quicker than with Shiseido! Add to it very silky feel and no clogging!

Eyes -Shiseido - Eyebrow and Eyeliner Duo 'The MakeUp'
rated 5 of 5
pearlywhite 8/22/2008 1:46:00 PM

Shiseido offers three palettes of this product. First, I bought the lightest one (03). The darker shade in it is perfect for lining eyes - cool brown color, really long lasting and very easy to put it on if you use the pointed applicator from this kit. I can also use the darker shade for my eyebrows - I am light, but I have dark eyebrows. The lighter shade -well, here I should confess I`m not content. The lighter shade is light. And I have never seen natural light eyebrows of this bricky color. So for me, taken on its own, it is of no use at all. But! It is possible to mix the two colors and in this case it becomes possible to apply what results on eyebrows. WEll, I was in search of perfection - so I decided to buy the second kit (02), which is darker and to be able to use the darker side for liner, the lighter - straight for brows. From the point of view of the liner - it`s againt perfect. Just a tad darker and cooler color than in the first compact. Not black, though. The lighter shade is more applicable for my brows than in the first compact, but not a 100% match. I`m not reviewing here the darkest compact (01) - it`s real dark. But as for these two I would say that Shiseido in my opinion should lessen this brick hint from the part, meant for brows.

Eye Shadow -Shiseido - Silky Eye Shadow Duo in Shell Pink
rated 5 of 5
pearlywhite 8/22/2008 1:27:00 PM

I bought a nice selection of Shiseido make-up products at discount prices, so far I am content with the price. The eye-shadow is in two colors - white and pale pink. Frankly speaking, when buying it I was not so much fascinated by the colors and just was looking desperately for something from eye-shadows range, regarding that the price was 75% lower.. so I just had to buy smthing. The most amazing thing about this shadow - its silkiness. It`s extra soft and silky. It`s also shimmering, but not too much. Very soft -so very pleasant to use the brush side half of the applicator (which I would not normally do!). I do reach out for this compact very often - it looks neutral and polished, very light pearly veil on the lids. The last thing which astonished me - it stays put! I have oily lids and many shadows don`t. This one does.

Treatments -Vichy - Peel Microabrasion - Rejuvenating resurfacing kit
rated 5 of 5
pearlywhite 3/30/2007 1:42:00 PM

I have used only a sample of stages 2-3 (scrub and mask) and so far I am impressed. I have acne-prone skin, the stuff significantly reduced the number of blackheads on my face and made skin smoother and more even. Plus to that it`s not irritating at all. Probably would buy again because of the miraculous effect on blackheads, meanwhile will try to lay hands on another sample.

Eyeliner -Smashbox - Cream eyeliner in Smashing Picasso
rated 5 of 5
pearlywhite 3/8/2007 2:48:00 AM

I own two Smashbox eyeliners - the black one (Caviar) and now bought the second one - Picasso. I do like them both (this one is of beautiful cool dark-blue no-violet-tint colour), but I think that they are different slightly in consistently. Picasso is softer and more watery may be so it takes more patience to use it. I had no difficulties in applying it with a brush (not a smashbox one, but a cheaper brush from isa dora) , thopugh I had to go several times on top of some parts which seemed a bit opaque. The result - even, bright, nice line. I also like ingredients in these liners - they have castor oil so I hope it does smthing nice to lashes :) The only grudge - I wish it were less expensive.

Eyeliner -Smashbox - Cream Eyeliner in Smashing Caviar

I was confused by numerous negative reviews here, still I can`t stand liquide eye-liners, so wanted to try a cream variant. I bought it in black color, I didn`t buy the brush cause it`s too expensive. Instead I bought an angled Isa Dora brush and planning to buy some thin brush from Isa Dora for the same liner. So far I am pleased. First of all - it stays literally all day. I do not put it on my bare lids, but over some light eye-shadow (have tried some light YSL shadow from a duo, have tried with Mary Kay singles - the idea is that the shadow should be gentle and not bold) - the eye-liner holds exactly as it starts and application process is easier. Very nice, warm-black shade, which looks like soft velvet and not like glossy silk (lke you normally get from liquide liners), didn`t smudge, didn`t fade. I like it, like the look which I get with it and I am planning to buy one more shade - Picasso (dark blue).

Lip Treatments -LUSH - Eggsnog
rated 4 of 5
pearlywhite 1/21/2007 4:59:00 AM

Oh, it is all right for the taste-smell qualities. Leaves lips buttery-shiny, but also dries up in a sort of a dry film between lips - so not really long-lasting or moisturizing.

Lips -LUSH - Happy Talk
rated 5 of 5
pearlywhite 1/21/2007 4:56:00 AM

I like the taste and the smell of it the most. It also pumps up lips a bit, makes them a bit brighter. It`s not very long-lasting though.. but lasting qualities are better than with Eggsnog. It`s also soft and pleasant to use. I used to have the following Lush balms: Whipstick, Honey trap, Eggsnog, Lip Squeak. The smell and taste of Happy Talk to my mind is the best of them all! Whipstick and Honey Trap are way toooo heavy for me and sweet and sickening.. Eggsnog is delicious - but it leaves some dry film on lips.

Lip Treatments -LUSH - Honey Trap Lip Balm
rated 4 of 5
pearlywhite 1/21/2007 4:48:00 AM

Very strong smell which I started to dislike. Leaves some residue if applied too much. Lips get sticky with it on especially in cold weather. For the rest - very good moisturizing qualities.

Lip Treatments -LUSH - Lush Lip Squeak
rated 5 of 5
pearlywhite 1/21/2007 4:45:00 AM

I`ve bought two of the new balms - Happy Talk and Lip Squeak. As for Lip Squeek I think I prefer it over my last year favourite - Honey Trap, which was too thick and I finished with disliking completely its smell and taste (honey+mint). This one moisturizes, stays on for a long time, does not leave any residue on your lips. The only grudge I have about it is the smell - to my taste it`s sour (apple pie it is supposed to be), but it`s not something I can`t overcome at the moment. I much prefer the smell and taste of Happy Talk (coffee) for that matter. I had no problems with the packaging, it opens easily. Also very happy about the price which in Russia for lip balms has fallen to the general price level that people have in US for instance.. and not 1,5-2 times that much

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Dior Addict EDP
rated 2 of 5
pearlywhite 12/17/2006 1:06:00 PM

It`s a vanilla fragrance. Unfortunately not much else to say about it. It seems to be popular, but I don`t think it`s worth it. If you like a lot of vanilla - it`s yours. And in this case you may also want to try Lolita Lempika new vanilla fragrance in blue bottle and golden net on top of it.. sorry.. don`t remember the exact name. But they are similar.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Miss Dior
rated 5 of 5
pearlywhite 12/17/2006 12:57:00 PM

It`s unusual - very old-fashioned from the start (both the bottle and the scent). I don`t know whether I like it or not - should have another try. The scent is calm, it doesn`t catch you, it doesn`t overwhelm you, it reminds me for some reason jf Jane Birkin (but I don`t know why:) I lso think it`s classy. Absolutely. I was also surprised that it had nothing in common with its up-dated version Miss Dior Cherie - which is modern and fruity and ... not classy -:)
