Clothes -Unlisted Brand - Miss Me jeans

i own three pairs of miss me jeans, and i seriously love them! i never thought i would be into jeans with thick stitching, bulky silver hardware and occasionally rhinestones, but they're the best fitting jeans on the market (speaking for myself). i got my first pair three years ago and wore them nearly every day (except in the summer when it's really hot out), and that pair finally started showing some real wear and tear (a rip and a couple loosening threads). the denim is thick and has a nice slight stretch to it. i'm 5'7" and 110 pounds and i wear a 24. the 24 is a little tight and the 25 was a little big. go with the slightly smaller size because they stretch just a little after multiple wears. also, the denim fades beautifully! i can't say enough good things about miss me jeans. they can be expensive (starting at $99) but they're worth it because they last for years. i got a pair yesterday at macy's at 40% off, plus 10% and another 15% with a macy's credit card, so $40 or so. i absolutely recommend these jeans!

Lotions/ Creams -Neutrogena - Norwegian Formula Moisture Wrap Daily Repair Body Lotion
rated 5 of 5

this is my hg body moisturizer, without a doubt! i've used brands as cheap as suave to high-end brands such as moroccanoil body lotions. moroccanoil's moisturizer is amazing but not at the price it costs ($50!). this moisturizer works on my very dry skin all year round. we have summers that reach 105 degrees and winters that can reach -5 degrees, so i need a moisturizer that can keep my skin balanced and smooth. this is it! although i use it more sparingly in the summertime, i would recommend this product and hope neutrogena never discontinues it!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Stoked by Bethany Hamilton

i absolutely love stoked by bethany hamilton! it's the perfect beach scent and transitions well from day to night wear. i love beach by bobbi brown, which has a "mature coppertone smell" to it, but it's reasonably expensive and the staying power sucks. this scent is $15 for a plastic surfboard spray bottle (which is so cute and purse-friendly!) and it lasts well over a few months if used every day. surf shops generally sell it. i got mine at billabong, and i'm sure their website, along with ron jon, sells it too.

burt's bees chapstick is my favorite, ever, hands down, and has been for years. it's moisturizing, smells awesome and is essentially all natural. my specific favorite is the island one. it has a red cap like the original. it's just so moisturizing! hg without a doubt.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 188 Small Duo Fibre Face brush
rated 5 of 5

This is undoubtedly my HG brush. I don't think there will ever be a fair comparison or dupe. I went to my nearest MAC freestanding store and told the MUA that although I love my Studio Fix Powder, it always looks cakey after I apply it. I just want a light dusting of powder to set it on top of my liquid foundation, but I don't want a translucent setting powder. I had tried MAC's transparent setting powder, and I just couldn't figure out how to make it work for me. She recommended the MAC 188 brush for me. It's a small version of the 187, a mini stippling brush, essentially. She instructed me to apply the powder to my face and buff it into my skin with the 188 brush. I apply the powder as she told me, and I couldn't be happier with the results! It leaves the perfect amount of powder on my face. It cost me $35, but it was worth every penny. Sometimes, especially in the case of MAC products, you really do get what you pay for.

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen - Creme d'Nude
rated 3 of 5
peacelovepatchouli 10/24/2012 11:00:00 AM

Let me start by saying that I love MAC products. I was wearing Revlon lipsticks for awhile, but ended up with 6 empty MAC containers, so I recycled them through Back 2 MAC. I wanted MAC's lipstick (Blankety) but they were out of stock, so I instead chose Creme D' Nude. The color is a perfect nude shade for my fair skin (Studio Fix in NC15). It's a fantastic nude pink shade. And since it's a cremesheen, it's glossy without the stickiness of lipgloss, which I love. I can't stand lipgloss. Unfortunately, I can only give this three lippies. Why? Because the staying power is garbage. The glossiness fades after an hour, and although the color seems to remain for awhile, overall it needs to reapplied often. It's a shame, because it's a beautiful lipstick.

Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Dermo Expertise Hydra-Renewal Continuous Moisture Cream
rated 1 of 5

This is the worst face cream I have ever used, and I've tried alot of them. I have never had acne before in my life, and at 21 years old, I have a field of acne across my chin and lower cheeks. My skin is very dry, so I won't say that this moisturizer isn't moisturizing, because it is. But it definitely didn't work for me. I've switched to Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion and am in love. Definitely my HG.

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipstick in Berry Haute
rated 5 of 5
peacelovepatchouli 12/12/2010 9:38:00 PM

i have to first mention that when i read these reviews, the lipstick is pink in the pictures, as well as mentioned in the reviews. the berry haute lipstick i bought is purple. i have very fair skin (MAC C1) and cool undertones. this lipstick is so flattering and sexy! it's the exact shade i was looking for. if you have fair skin with cool undertones, this is absolutely perfect for you! not to mention, super lustrous lipstick by revlon is just as good as MAC lipsticks in terms of shade range, lasting power, pigmentation and moisturizing properties, if not better!

Hair -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Therapeutic Lavender Nourishing Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
peacelovepatchouli 11/5/2010

Today I purchased Avalon Organics Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner. It is by far the absolute best shampoo and conditioner I have ever used (and I've tried everything from drugstore to department store lines)! The product is 70% organic, which doesn't bother me much, considering I briefly shampooed my hair with baking soda and water at an attempt to be eco-friendly. It lathers well, smells amazing too! I can't say enough about the conditioner though! It feels very heavy but I left it on my hair for 3 minutes (on the bottle, 1-3 minutes minimum is recommended) and my medium thickness, dry, brittle hair is soft, manageable, movable and super shiny! I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone! Especially those of you with hair like mine. Hair that doesn't stay straight, curly, frizz-free, this is my hg conditioner without a doubt (:

Shampoo -John Frieda - Root Awakening Strength Restoring Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
peacelovepatchouli 9/14/2010 8:24:00 PM

I love this shampoo! The eucalyptus scent is incredible, so sweet and minty, yet not overpowering (get the hint, herbal essences!). My hair is fried to the core and this shampoo, combined with the conditioner, detangling root lifting spray, smoothing lotion and hairspray makes my hair look SUPER SHINY, although my split ends still show. Can't say anything bad about this shampoo!
