Blush -MAC - Style
rated 5 of 5

When at the mac counter i explained to the mua how i wanted to find a blush that would be perfect for summer, as I really wanted a summer staple. She suggested that since Im a nc37 and love to use bronzer/contour that I go for style. First glance this looks like Nars orgasm, which i didnt particularly want as i think that colour is just average. However when she applied it i was shocked, its a gorgeous summer colour of a peachy pink with gold. I thought the frost wouldnt be a good match, but since i use studio fix fluid and then mineralise skinfinish this results in a matte face, therefore the frost works. where as if you wanted a dewy finish, i would question how this would go...i dont see it working!! Id deffinitely repurchase...however I also do like to try other shades out! :D

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15

I LOVE this foundation!! I was very dubious to try it at first due to soooo many people saying they had broken out from it. Which put me off as I have some slight acne scars and often get pimples, therefore i did not want to make my skin any worse. I was tempted to buy this online, however I recomend going to a counter and getting matched to a foundation as there is not a lot you can do if the colour is wrong!! I bought this in Harrods in London due to it being cheaper there compared to australian prices. I was matched to a nc37, which is PERFECT for my skin!! The mua used a two main brushes to apply it, the 191 and the 188 (around my acne scars). I noticed instantly how high the coverage is!! I was actually quite shocked, ive never come accross a drugstore foundation that could even come close to the coverage of this one! I also used this foundation whilest on holiday in Italy, where the temperatures were in the high 30s for the month of july and it lasted ALL day!!! especially when i paired it with the NP set Pre Foundation Primer. What I also love about this foundation is the OPTION to buy a pump!!!! if only other brands took that into consideration that we want PUMPS!!! Ideally it would be nice that this foundation would come with a pump, however once you buy the pump, you can reuse it. Im deffinitely repurchasing this!!

Liquid -Maybelline - Dream Liquid Mousse
rated 5 of 5

Im actually very impressed with this foundation. I've tried maybelline superstay before and just didnt like it, and since then i havent tried a maybelline product in about 4years. I dont really know what made me try this product it was a mix of reviews on mua and just seeing what was available at my local priceline. I have medium 1 (sandy beige) which is a PERFECT match for my skin!! I was wondering if anyone knows the match for this in Estee Lauder double wear? and Nars Sheer glow? Medium 1 does have yellow undertones to it, if you have more pink undertones go for Medium 2. Coverage wise, i use concealer first then this foundation, i also use concealer on top ONLY because i am very fussy and have bad acne scars, but most people wouldnt bother as there is literally no point, i just apply more because i want to for my own confidence, not because of the product. It is a dewy finish, which has taken a while for me to adjust to as i usually only opt for matte finish, but im starting to like dewy finishes as they are the most natural looking and dont look cakey. It doesnt last all day...what foundation does?? but for the 5hours or so it lasts i like it. I particularly love the pump!!!! the pump really makes me use less of the product and save money in the long run!! thumbs up maybelline!!!

Self Tanners -Garnier - Ambre Solaire No Streaks Bronzer Dry Body Mist
rated 4 of 5
parisloveshoppnlove 6/2/2010 8:09:00 AM

This was the first fake tan i have ever tried, and i was very impressed!! Im fortunate in that i have olive skin, and i just always thought fake tan would do nothing for me, however in the winter months i went very pale and just thought id try this. I was VERY impressed, it was a very easy simple application and what i really loved is that it was a clear mist, and so if you applied it in the shower you wouldnt get fake tan everywhere and cause a mess, (this is my number one pet peeve about spray tans is getting the tan EVERYWHERE when you spray it) since discovering this product i have tried other fake tans, and to me they all have their own good points and bad points, however this is a great tan--it does have a tan smell, but what tanning product doesnt!!

Polishes -Rimmel - 60 Seconds Nail Polish
rated 5 of 5
parisloveshoppnlove 6/2/2010 8:05:00 AM

I love these little bottles of Rimmel nail polish. They have some fantastic colour ranges and literally all you need is two coats to get a decent colour. however i ALWAYS put three coats on for any nail polish. They are fast drying--- not 60 seconds!! but fast

Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin
rated 2 of 5

Im probably one of the only few people on here that really doesnt understand the hype about this foundation, and trust me, i tried SO hard to like it!! I bought this at gloss accessories in australia as it is $10 cheaper then what you would pay at Priceline or target, kmart etc. They also have more of a colour range compared to the ones available at priceline. I think the colour range is fantastic, but also a tad bit confusing as there are SOOO many shades it often left me confused as to what one i actually really liked and what one suited my skin the best. However, onto the negatives about this foundation... the two biggest issues for me were 1. Dries extremely fast and looks cakey if not blended in. 2. No pump=waste of a lot of product. DO not buy this foundation if you take your time applying it and want a flawless coverage. as if you dont work quickly with this it dries, turns cakey and doesnt blend. and i mean FAST! id dab four dots around my face to blend in and by the time i got to the last two dots there was no point as it had dried and i couldnt blend. However u could also do the dots one at a time, but thats almost impossible as you cant control how much you get out of the bottle. Which leads on the the second concern, no pump. By you having to poor this product out, or put one finger over the lid, shake it up and down and use that amount at a time you wast a considerably large amount of this product. When i use 30ml pump foundation it takes me about 2-3 months to finsih. with colourstay i would finish the bottle in a month!! Coverage wise, its ok, not AMAZING and if you have acne scars you will need a concealer. Also there is a strong chemically smell, which is really revolting and makes you wonder wth are you putting on your face!! Overall i was extremely disappointed by this foundation. Especially with all the positivie reviews. My advice try it, and make up your own mind about it.

Makeup Brushes -Unlisted Brand - Manicare Cosmetica duo fibre stippling brush
rated 1 of 5
parisloveshoppnlove 6/2/2010 7:51:00 AM

urghhh i dont understand the hype about these stippling brushes. No i dont get flawless coverage with it, i get a flawless coverage using an actual foundation brush (like a 190). This brush is terrible, it SHEDS badly, ive had it for about 6months now and every application it sheds, im surprised there is any hair left on it still!!! It felt smooth when i bought it, however after one foundation use it went all scratchy and grose, i think that is pathetic, why would i buy a brush and have to wash it daily, just so it doesnt make the next application scratchy. Price wise, $18aud is affordable, for ANY brush in australia, as they are quite expensive, however I dont want to pay that much for a brush if its scratchy and will shed. Your better off investing your money in a mac 187 (ive heard thats really good, i just dont want to spend over $50 on it) or using a foundation brush.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Creme de la Chrome in Gilt Complex
rated 5 of 5
parisloveshoppnlove 5/23/2010 2:42:00 AM

I love this nude colour!! its a very pretty shimmery metallic colour. Instead of applying like i would a normal lipgloss i dab about 5 dots over my lips and then blend it in with my finger to soften the colour as it is quite intense and may wash you out. this is limited eddition but for australians i know myer quite often as these on the clearance makeup stalls and ive seen this and a red in most gloss stores. I think mine was $14.95 australian, but its a very nice colour, long lasting and smells pleasant.

Lip Liners -Unlisted Brand - BYS Lipliner Pencil
rated 4 of 5
parisloveshoppnlove 5/15/2010 11:42:00 AM

I actually dont mind this as a lipliner. im surprised that some reviews are saying BYS eyepencils and lip pencils are hard and chalky. i would say they are barely that at all!! Their creamy to me, sure they arent like soft and dont glide on, but i feel that they are decent for the price.

Blush -Australis - Powder Puff Blush
rated 4 of 5
parisloveshoppnlove 5/15/2010 11:03:00 AM

An okay blush, i like the colour mainly. however the whole puff thing just doesnt work for me. i tend to stamp it on my cheeks, then blend it out, as ive noticed when i stamp it or puff it lol a lot of product comes out and its clumpy so u have to blend it. I ended up not using the puff for mine and using the product loosely.

rated 2 of 5

An okay heat protectant. Im not sure if it actually did protect my hair though. my hair never felt soft or looked good after i used it, if anything a bit stringy and sticky. it also has a horrible smell. REALLY bad, kinda like medicine. i wouldnt recommend this at all. use treseme heat tamer spray!!

Eyes -Unlisted Brand - BYS metallics
rated 5 of 5
parisloveshoppnlove 4/24/2010 11:23:00 PM

Amazing quality for such a cheap brand. These colours are very pigmented and each compliment each other. I love how they are shimmery and easy to work with, you will need a good eyeshadow base as the colour may fade throughout the day, but over all a fantastic pallette. 8 colours for $4.95 at gloss! BARGAIN, similar to MAC quality shadows as well

Eyeliner -Unlisted Brand - BYS - Liquid Eyeliner Waterproof
rated 5 of 5

A Fantastic Black Liquid Eyeliner. Ive compared it to the Revlon Colorstay and this one lasted even longer and was harder for me to take off at the end of the day. The black colour is very deep, not watery black and it certainly wont fade colour. It lasts all day and is a great bargain at 4.95 at your local Gloss. I definitely recommend trying this one out!

Treatments -Kerastase - Ciment Thermique
rated 3 of 5
parisloveshoppnlove 3/7/2010 7:36:00 AM

I seriously only thought that this product was average, despite all the positive reviews about it. Mine was $35AUD from my salon, which to me is expensive for a heat protectant, but i wanted to try an upmarket one. One thing about this is that it makes your hair very greasy especialy around the root area, so avoid it there. I also just dont like the whole cream texture i feel it makes my hair sticky and grose. This also has a horrible smell, it reminded me of cucumbers for some weird reason. Would i buy it again? no. Simply because I have foundthe Tresemme Heat Tamer spray and love that. as you can use it for curling, straightening etc and it smells nice. also only a third of the price. I guess its just personal preference, but i dont like creams, which i discovered after using this product and it really didnt do a whole lot for my hair.
