Top/Base Coats -Essie - All in One Base
rated 2 of 5

I couldn't understand why my manicures were suddenly chipping after 24-48 hours of wear. Until I realized that it started happening when I began using this base coat. I've also noticed that when using this with Seche Vite (HG!), the shrinkage is twice as bad. My nails started peeling and have since stopped since I switched back to my old base. I honestly don't recommend this at all and this is coming from someone who adores the Essie line.

Crème -Laura Mercier - Silk Creme Foundation
rated 4 of 5
paperskies 5/27/2011 12:28:00 PM

I decided to buy this foundation because it claims to be really good for dry and red skin, particularly those with rosacea. I absolutely hated this foundation the first two times I tried using it. It clung to all of my dry patches, was difficult to blend and caked so easily. I was bummed that I spent $42 on this when it was truly no better than a drugstore foundation. However, third times the charm. USE A WET SPONGE! I can't stress this enough for people that have had the same issue. Not only did I use less product, it applied smoothly and didn't cling to any dry patches this time. The beauty blender or it's Sonia Kashuk dupe in particular make this foundation work at it's full potential. The LM Hydrating Primer is also really nice when paired together. This is medium/full coverage and I notice that it takes about 90% of my redness away when using it without concealer. Will purchase again!

Polishes -OPI - Elephantastic Pink
rated 4 of 5

Lovely color and the formula was a breeze to apply. However, I'm really disappointed with how sheer this is. Even after three coats, I still have VNL. Will try it again with a ridge filler. Otherwise, it's a stunning color and perfect for summer.

Polishes -Essie - Van d'Go
rated 4 of 5
paperskies 3/21/2011 6:00:00 PM

When I originally tried this, I hated it. The formula made application really difficult. Thin layers are a must with this polish otherwise it's going to end up being a disaster. Van D'Go is gorgeous and unique and (imo) completely makes up for the tricky application.

Polishes -Color Club - Fashion Addict
rated 5 of 5
paperskies 3/17/2011 2:29:00 AM

This is my first time trying Color Club and I'm already impressed. Fashion Addict has one of the best formulas I've ever used. The color is kind of hard to explain but it's like a grey toned lilac. Paired with the silver/holo microshimmer, the color is just stunning. It's also so opaque that I can get away with one coat. I love the holo, though it's very subtle unless you're in direct sunlight. Highly recommended!

Polishes -Essie - Turquoise & Caicos (Resort 2010)
rated 4 of 5
paperskies 3/12/2011 1:20:00 AM

Stunning color. I had no problems with the formula, aside from it being a bit sheer. I've found that it takes 4 thin coats to make it completely opaque. Turquoise & Caicos is one of those colors that grabs your attention when you see it in person. Highly recommended.

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 15
rated 2 of 5
paperskies 1/22/2011 4:58:00 AM

Oh how I remember when I first reviewed this and gave it 4 stars. My skins needs must have changed or I was overlooking the biggest downfall of this moisturizer. This does nothing to hydrate my skin. I have to use 2-2.5 pumps at night to even get my skin decently moisturized. And then follow with another 2 pumps in the morning. Even then, my skin continues to peel and feel tight. Bottom line: If you have to use that much product to get results (or lack thereof) than it's not working properly. I've finished my last bottle and will not be repurchasing.

Polishes -OPI - Have a Tempura Tan-Trum
rated 4 of 5
paperskies 1/21/2011 2:35:00 AM

Love, love, love! Lately I've really been loving the nude polish look. It was a bit difficult trying to find the "right nude" for my skintone. This polish looks different on everyone. On some it's more peach and on others it's more beige or pink. For me, it's perfect. The formula is a little difficult but not unbearable. Definitely a three coater and as others have already suggested, a ridge filler helps even it out. This shade is still available online and not hard to find. Will repurchase if I manage to finish the bottle.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Matte Eyeshadow in Revolver
rated 4 of 5
paperskies 1/10/2011 3:29:00 PM

Though I'm normally not a huge fan of Urban Decay, their matte formula beats MAC by a mile. I was really surprised at how smooth the texture is to the touch! And even better, it applies exactly the same as it appears in the pan. Revolver is everything I hoped it would be. It's perfect for smokey eyes but it's also perfect for the daytime too. My only complaint is the packaging. Not so much the design, it just feels cheap and easily breakable.

Lipstick -MAC - Amplified Creme - Chatterbox
rated 4 of 5
paperskies 12/27/2010 1:53:00 AM

Anyone with highly pigmented lips knows that it can be a bit difficult to find the right lipsticks. When it comes to pinks, they often turn purple or too cool toned. Chatterbox is everything I wanted it to be. It's opaque, creamy and applies exactly the same as the color in the tube. It's a bright, warm pink that works well with my pale skin tone. I used to strictly stick to nude or neutral lips. Lately I've noticed that it can make me look really washed out or dull when paired with neutral eyes. Chatterbox gives me enough color to brighten my face and add just the right pop of color. Instant HG status, will repurchase!

Concealers -MAC - Studio Sculpt [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
paperskies 12/23/2010 4:30:00 AM

Studio sculpt is way too thick. It's especially thick when the temperature is cooler. I have to warm it up to even make it usable. And I've also found that this concealer is really hit or miss. Sometimes I can get it to look great and other times it just wants to be difficult. Not okay when I'm in a hurry before going out. I will be using this product up (which to be honest, is going to take awhile. You're given a lot of product, I'll give it that much) and then looking for something else.

Polishes -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Pro - Steel Grey

Love the color, hate the brush/cap. Application was awkward, would have preferred a normal brush. Will not repurchase.

Polishes -China Glaze - Nail Lacquer-Awakening
rated 5 of 5
paperskies 10/8/2010 2:13:00 PM

I was searching for a new polish when this caught my eye. I've never seen a color like this and it's stunning in person! Awakening is a midtone purple with a strong, golden shimmer duochrome. On my nails, the base is more of a dusty rose. It almost reminds me of rose pigment from MAC. Surprisingly, the duochrome transfers perfectly when applied to the nails. The formula was also flawless and easy to use. Will definitely repurchase again.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 5 of 5
paperskies 9/26/2010 3:16:00 AM

Definitely a must have. Honestly, I'm just glad that I was able to buy this palette at retail price. It's really a shame that certain people have taken it upon themselves to buy out Sephoras entire stock and then put them both on here and Ebay for double and triple the cost. It's not even LE! There are so many girls that have been waiting weeks to get this and it's sad that it keeps selling out due to people being greedy. Shame on you.

Polishes -China Glaze - For Audrey
rated 4 of 5
paperskies 9/23/2010 1:17:00 AM

I've been putting off getting this color because I've heard that the formula is awful. I finally caved and bought it after seeing how pretty it is in real life. I usually hate wearing blue polish but something about this color really just stands out. The formula is surprisingly easy to work with and my nails were opaque with two coats.
