I bought this because it reminded me of the VS Bronzers but cheaper. I like the pink tones to this because a lot of bronzers have too much orange or brown in them. It doesn't show up as well as I would like, but I like the sheen it gives. I use it as a blush because it's really pink. I like how the bottom flips open and has a brush and a mirror. Very worth the $6 I paid.
Not a lot of people touched on my main problem with this mascara - it's hard to remove completely! I wash my face twice in the shower and there's still black smudges on my face and residue when I touch my lashes. Not normal. If it wasn't for that, I would really like it. I love the cool spiraled brush, and it makes my lashes look nice and fat and dark. Too bad I look like the cryptkeeper when I get out of the shower. Will try the new Max Factor next.
Foundations -Cover Girl - Advanced Radiance Age-Defying Makeup

I bought this because I needed a compact foundation and I love Olay skincare, so I thought I would try this. I was a little put off spending $10 for drugstore foundation, but I put that aside. I really like the way it feels on my skin, but I wish the coverage was a little better. It doesn't really look "radiant" or anything either. It's OK, and I might buy it again, but I will probably try anoyther compact foundation since I have never tried one before and really like the concept.
I actually really like this. I will admit I bought it because it was gimmicky and I had to try it, but I was pleasantly surprised. A lot of balms I find way too waxy for me, so I love the thin liquid texture and how fast it sinks in. It makes my lips feel really smooth. It smells divine, tastes slightly sweet, and I love the tiny container because I can fit it in my purse or pocket. For the $1.50 (or whatever) it was well worth it!
AWESOME conditioner! Makes my hair feel silky smooth, even in the shower. Smells nice, very light, and doesn't weigh my hair down or make it look greasy at all. I will be looking for this at Costco! A definite staple!
Lipstick -Maybelline - Wet Shine Diamonds - sparkling sands

I bought this because I was looking for a more nude lipcolor. I really like the way it looks on the lips, sheer bronzey gold. The glitter is a tiny bit gritty but I can live with it. I wish it lasted longer on my lips, but for the price I like it, and will try more colors.
I RIS Route 66, an aqua color with pink shimmer. I normally don't like cream eyeshadows, but this one actually stayed on me without creasing. I had a little trouble getting it to go on evenly, but I think with a little practice I can fix that. It blends nicely and isn't too shocking but isn't too sheer either. I would like to try more of these.
Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers Trio - Curtain Call [DISCONTINUED]
paleviolet 12/25/2005 2:08:00 AM
I really love CG shadows, so this doesn't surprise me that I really like this trio. The deepest shade is very pretty, almost gunmetal. It has a nice deep shimmer like MAC shadows. The silver shade is very subtle, a little sheer for me, but coordinates nicely with the deeper shade. The highlighter doesn't really show on me, but I use it anyway just to blend the crease line in. For about $3, can't beat the quality! These have great staying power on me when used with my Benefit base. Someday I will probably own all these shadows, because the price is so nice!
Styling Products -Garnier - Fructis Style - Smoothing Milk
paleviolet 12/4/2005 9:16:00 PM
I am a sucker for Garnier's styling products because they are dirt cheap at Wal-Mart and smell so darn good. I really really like my Surf Hair, so I bought this on a whim last time I was at Wally World, looking for a replacement for my expensive Bed Head After Party. While this does not make my hair feel like silk like A.P. does, it does leave my hair softer and smoother. It smells AMAZING and my only complaint is when I scrunch it in to smooth curls it gets a little crispy in some spots. Weird to me that a smoothing milk would be labeled as strong hold. But I like it and paid under $3.00 for it, so it's definitely a nice standby.
Wow. I must say I am thoroughly surprised by this. When I was younger I used the original beauty fluid. Since then I have bought every fancy, AHA, SPF, shimmer, etc. lotion for my face looking for the right one. Nothing has ever made my skin smooth and calm. When I ran out of my Pond's Radiance Restored lotion, I went to Wal-Mart and was a little broke, so I went for the traditional Olay. I bought this lotion, but the sensitive skin formula. I love the way it makes my skin feel, and glow a little! And it makes makeup application very smooth. It was cheap and the bottle reminds me of being younger. I really love Olay products, they have become my most trusted drugstore brand.
Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Wear Infinite in Reflecting Pool
paleviolet 11/23/2005 4:09:00 PM
I really like L'Oreal eyeshadows, so I bought this light Robin's Egg blue because the level of pearl it has is very unusual for a drugstore shadow. It's very pretty, and applied nicely, the only complaint I have is that when eyeshadows have designs or words etched into them (perle, in this case) it seems to be harder to get the color. I have to really dig my brush in. But the color lasts all day and is very pretty and has a nice sheen.
I don't know why everyone hates this, I really like it! I applied it to a freshly moisturized face with a sponge. When I first applied it, the color looked off (I bought 102 Nude) but when I blended, it seemed to adjust and melt in. The coverage is pretty good, and it feels nice on my face. I didn't have any of the streaking or wetness or weird feeling that everyone else stated. It's cheap, covers well, and is in a compact tube perfect for traveling that will not break. I will buy this again.
Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers Trio - Sea Glass
paleviolet 11/14/2005 1:38:00 PM
I personally adore CG eyeshadows. I think their texture, shimmer, and color selection rival some department store brands. When I use with my Benefit F.Y. Eye, they last all day on me.
I bought Sea Glass because Rite Aid was having a buy one, get one half off sale on all CG cosmetics. I picked up a Crystal Waters quad, and Sea Glass appealed to me so I chose it as well. I like green eyeshadows, and these looked gorgoeous.
I read the reviews before I used this, so I wasn't expecting much. When I used it, I was pleasantly surprised! I applied with my MAC brushes and not the sponge applicator. I used it how I assume they intended, darkest in crease, middle on lid, lightest on browbone. I loved the middle shade, reminded me of MAC Juxt with more golden shimmer. The khaki crease color is beautiful.
All in all, I loved the results with this trio, and for the price you can't beat it. I will definitely be buying more of the Eye Enhancer Trios and Quads.
This is a very pretty green shadow. I am partial to greens, but generally go for brighter green. I like this blended with a violet shade (like Bourjois Violet Fascinant). It's very ethereal, especially with the high amount of shimmer. I really like it and am glad I got my hands on it!
Yes, this color looks insane in the pan, but it's so fun! I RIS, and couldn't wait to try it. I tried it with Juxt on the lid and Chrome Yellow packed on the inner corners. I love the color, love the brightness. I wish it had a tiny touch of pearl to it so it would blend a little bit better, but I really like it all the same. It has definitely earned a place in (one of) my 15 pans!
