Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Accutane (by prescription)

I can't believe I waited so long to use this medication! I have had acne since my teenage years and now that I am 30 I was sick and tired of constantly battling with my skin. Now that my skin is clear I had no idea how much thought and time was put into covering up my acne with makeup, trying to find cleansers and treatments that would work, blotting my oily skin and touching up my makeup. The freedom this product has given me is unbelievable - I can walk out the door without a stitch of makeup on and not feel bad about myself. I can't begin to explain what this has done for my confidence and happiness! The treatment is rough at times. There is no side effect that you MAY have. You WILL have side effects - dry lips, dry skin, dry hair which causes breakage, nose bleeds. Some people experience them more than others, but you WILL have side effects. One thing I did that helped is from day 1 I replaced all my products with new things that were moisturizing - cleansers, lotions, shampoo and conditioner, and I even had to change my brand of deodorant. You will need 42 tubes of lip balm and you will go through all of them. I was clear from about 6 weeks in. The purging was insane! I would literally run my fingernail down my nose and the blackheads would just scrape out. So gross, but so awesome! It got rid of the blemishes on my back and chest right away. It took a while for the scarring to go away and I still have some stubborn spots that will take a while. I am now 2 months off of the medication and I have had 2 small blemishes that haven't come to a head, very minor. My skin is starting to have some oil to it, but so far it is very normal - it probably just feels a little oily because it has been SO dry for so long! Some people get all crazy about the side effects, harshness, chemicals, etc. But if you haven't given it a try, you don't know how it will work for you. I say go for it! I had tried antibiotics, tazorac, spironolactone, pretty much everything and this was the only thing that worked for me. Some times I guess you have to just go big. I did and I don't regret it one bit!

Conditioner -Clairol - Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Conditioner

I have been using this in conjunction with the Hello Hydration shampoo and I am so pleased with what it is doing for my hair! It was feeling frizzy and dry and even after a trim, it wasn't behaving. Just a few uses of this and my hair is feeling silky and soft.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Shampoo

I really like this shampoo! My hair had been feeling dry and frizzy and even after a trim, it just wasn't behaving. I finished my old bottle of shampoo (another herbal essences shampoo) and pulled this out from under my sink because I had gotten a great deal with coupons. After using it only a few times I was shocked at how great my hair feels! It is soft and silky, but still has a little bit of body. It smells good, is inexpensive, and easy to pick up at any store. My hair is shoulder length, demi permanent colored, and I shampoo every other day.

Eye Shadow -Everyday Minerals - Nutmeg

As the previous reviews have stated this is a great go to shade for everyday wear. I wear this shade every single day on my lid and crease. You can go light for a more natural look or layer it on for a darker not quite smoky look. I pair this with the Rare Silk shade as a highlight and blend together. For a night look I add another layer and add their black eyeliner. A no fail shade to look put together.

Top/Base Coats -Unlisted Brand - American Classics - Gelous Advanced Nail Gel Coat
paigie42 2/1/2010 2:41:00 PM
I really wanted to like this! The first time I used it, I used it as a base coat under a nude color I also bought at Sally's. My manicure lasted a good 7-10 days which was unheard of for me. I kept using this, and everytime I use it, I am less satisfied. My nails are a little soft and I have occasional problems with splitting. I agree it makes my nails harder, but when they do bend, the nail layers seperate and split. I currently have a split on my thumb that goes way into my nail bed and another starting on my index finger. I am scared to keep using it for fear it will cause serious damage. I will go back to my nailtek which doesn't last as long, but has never caused me any problems.

Hair Styling Tools -Conair - 1875 Ion Shine Hairdryer

This dryer is horrible! At first I thought I was just imagining it. It took way longer to dry my hair than with my old dryer. My hair was always fizzy. And then today it broke after only a few months. The OFF/low/high switch just stopped working and then it started popping at me. Don't buy this! Spend a little extra and get a better dryer!

Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation Matte Formula
paigie42 11/12/2007 8:27:00 PM
This isn't my HG yet, but it is definately close. I am new to mineral makeup and because I have oily skin I thought it was something I should try. Overall I am impressed with the amount of coverage you can get without looking heavily made up. I always had a problem matching my skin tone (pale with a heavy yellow cast) but this matches perfectly. I wish it did a little better with oil control, but overall I am very happy. Update: I am still using this years later! I am still playing around trying to find the perfect colors for me as I get tan in the summer and the back to pale in the winter. I love the sample sizes that are so inexpensive to try out the different colors. I just placed an order today! Love this makeup! And the packaging is much better than it used to be!

I love a good sample and this qualifies as a great sample. I think it says a lot about a company when they are willing to let you try their product in this way - it shows they have confidence you will be back to purchase their product. I know I did.

Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation - Intensive formula [DISCONTINUED]
paigie42 11/12/2007 8:22:00 PM
I am new to mineral makeup and decided to try this line because it was so inexpensive. I really like this line in general, but I did not enjoy the intensive formula. On my face it came off very chalky or cakey. It made me really look like I was wearing makeup, but at the same time didn't cover up blemishes that well. I like a lot of their other stuff, but just not this formula.

Styling Products -Redken - Rewind styling paste

My hair is a short shag - think Lisa Rinna. I use this product to define all my layers and create style. The hold is flexible which I like. You can move pieces around until you get them where you like to finish with a hairspray. This works on many different lengths of hair too.

Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - ExpressStyle Quick Slip Styling Cream
paigie42 11/12/2007 8:15:00 PM
I used this product every day when my hair was shoulder length and longer. It made my hair soft and helped control fly aways. The main thing though, is it really did help dry my hair faster. I noticed a difference on days when I did not use it.
