Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard as Wraps -- Sheer Pink Gloss
paigeedoodles 7/3/2009 9:45:00 AM
I love this stuff! I've been gravitating towards subtle, sheer nail colors recently (something about a well-applied sheer pink polish on well-manicured hands screams classy) and this nail polish is perfect. It goes on very even, keeps my nails from peeling or chipping, and even though it doesn't claim to be a super-long-lasting polish, it usually lasts me over a week without chipping. I'll be going back for the beige before my vacation because I'm quite sure that it won't chip the entire time I'm away, which is more than I can say for any other polish I've used, even long-wearing formulas. Another plus is that this comes in 20 colors, while covering all the bases: clear, white tip, sheer pink, sheer beige, deep red, true red, coral, etc - I can definitely see myself picking up some more.

Styling Products -TRESemme - tres two extra hold hairspray
paigeedoodles 12/22/2008 1:13:00 PM
I absolutely adore all things tresemme, this hairspray included! It looks and feels great; not 'hairsprayed' and stiff, and the nonaerosol bottle isn't bad for the environment. I love the smell, too. If you get this on your skin it will feel sticky, but on the hair it isn't at all. Basically, this is great and I would recommend it to anyone!

Lip Gloss -New York Color - kiss gloss in pink lemonade
paigeedoodles 12/27/2007 4:45:00 PM
I'm actually surprised that I really liked this gloss. It's a neutral, pink-y shade that looks great with a smoky eye. This is very glossy and pretty thick, but the thickness means that it stays on for a while. The color, price, and taste are all great. It tastes lemony and sweet, and was only $2 at Rite-Aid. I'll be purchasing this again and in other colors, I'm sure. Definitely one to try. EDIT: after using this for a while, I realized that it's actually quite sticky and has some shimmer, which I personally don't really like. There's nothing too negative about this, but there are better glosses out there!

Lip Treatments -Aveeno - Essential Moisture Lip Conditioner with SPF 15
paigeedoodles 12/20/2007 3:08:00 PM
This is my HG lip balm. I'm a total chapstick junkie, and this is the only one that I have ever repurchased. It has an amazing glide, doesn't feel at all grainy, gives the lips a nice, healthy sheen that doesn't compete with other makeup, and has spf 15 sun protection. I can't say enough good things about this product - everyone should try it.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 70
paigeedoodles 12/20/2007 3:02:00 PM
I actually love this. I'm pretty young and I'm not going to be worrying about aging any time soon, but I figure that preventing it in the first place will be much better than trying to reverse it. This is the highest spf that I've found, and it can be used on the face. I have oily, acne-prone skin and this is the only thing that keeps me from getting shiny during the day - even more so than a powder or foundation that claims to keep the shine away. It hasn't caused me to break out, it actually does dry (unlike most sunscreens), and it doesn't look too pale as long as you rub it in thoroughly. It also has broad-spectrum protection, so it protects you from aging UVA rays as well as cancer-causing UVB rays. I love this and will continue to buy.

Powder -Neutrogena - mineral sheers mineral powder foundation-fair to light
paigeedoodles 11/23/2007 4:05:00 PM
Yuck. I wasn't expecting much coverage (mineral 'sheers'), but at least a matte. Cons: -NO COVERAGE. Whatsoever. I could put this on all day and it wouldn't cover anything. At all. -Crappy packaging. I really had to wrestle with it to get any to come out at all, and when I did it was uneven. The brush isn't even soft. -Way overpriced. For a crappy package with powder that does absolutely nothing, $12 is a huge waste. -Shimmery! I tried to use this to mattify and it added shimmer. WHAT? The packaging says nothing about shimmer. Pros: Uhmm...... Please, don't waste your money.

Cleansers -Burt's Bees - Orange Essence Facial Cleanser
paigeedoodles 11/22/2007 6:44:00 PM
I really like this cleanser. I had been using Cetaphil, but I wanted another cleanser that would maybe be a little less boring. I love all things BB's, and this cleanser is no different. It's gentle and nonirritating, so I don't think it would hurt to use even if you had a sunburn, and it removes all of my foundation, which Cetaphil never did. It smells really good, not an obnoxious fake orange scent. It's made with oil, but even though I have acne-prone and oily skin, it hasn't broken me out and actually seems to be helping with my acne. It's 100% natural, I can actually pronounce the entire (short) ingredients list, and they don't do animal testing. I bought mine for $7 at Hannaford. You should do the same!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
paigeedoodles 11/22/2007 6:38:00 PM
I really like this. I bought it yesterday on a whim, but I really like the look of this mascara. I don't know that the bigger brush has anything to do with it, but it really makes my lashes look thicker and longer without clumping. The orange tube is cute and looks different from any other that I've seen. I bought it for $5 at wal-mart, which is very cheap, especially for a new product like this. I would definitely buy it again.

Blush -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Mineral Blush
paigeedoodles 11/22/2007 6:33:00 PM
I really like this. I have it in Pinched Pink, and it gives me a natural, flushed look without being too bright. It has the slightest bit of shimmer in the package that isn't really noticeable on the skin. I really like the packaging, I don't have to dig around for a brush because the brush attached is sanitary (it has a cap), convenient, good quality, and soft. The price isn't so great for a ds blush, but I would still buy again because the quality and look are so great. Definitely a must-try!

Loose Powders -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Soft-Focus Mineral Finish
paigeedoodles 11/22/2007 6:27:00 PM
This is definitely worth buying. I have very oily skin and really need a finishing powder, but I also wanted something translucent because I've found a foundation that is the exact shade of my skin (the Bare Naturale foundation). I had been using Jane's oil-free finishing powder, but I was almost out of it and wanted to try something different because it looked very powdery on my skin. I loved the Bare Naturale line's foundation and concealer, so I splurged and bought the blush, glow, and finishing powder. This is my favorite out of the three. It makes your skin look absolutely flawless. Radiant, ethereal, and airbrushed come to mind. It really does look like you're glowing, but not so much that you look shiny. Trust me, because I have oily skin I avoid anything shiny like the plague, and this is 'gently glowy' and mattifies. Some people are complaining about the packaging, but I love all of the packaging from the Bare Naturale line. I don't have to dig around for a brush, as the one attached is very soft and seems to be of good quality. The plastic is thick and the cover snaps on tight and keeps the brush clean. It was a little expensive for a ds product ($13), but it really makes it look like you wear expensive makeup. I will buy again and again!

Skincare - Body -Johnson & Johnson - Lavender Baby Oil
paigeedoodles 11/15/2007 5:10:00 PM
I love this! I adore baby oils, and this one has a really nice, more grown-up scent than regular baby oil. It has so many uses, too. I use it: -As an all-over moisturizer. While my skin is still damp after taking a shower I totally slather myself with this. I wake up in the morning smelling good and with smooth skin! -As a cuticle oil, to moisturize the cuticles and add shine to the nails -To add shine to your hair, rub a few drops between your palms and smooth over the surface of your hair -To add sheen to the lips, cheekbones, and eyelids -As an eye makeup remover, it removes stubborn waterproof eye makeup without pulling the skin -As a shaving oil, for super-smooth legs! -To add sheen to my arms and legs: if I know I'm going to be wearing shorts or a sleeveless or low-cut shirt, I put this on the fronts of my arms and legs or my chest. I always bring this with me when traveling because works for so many things. Instead of bringing an eye makeup remover, shave cream, moisturizer, lip balm, hair serum, and cuticle oil, I can just bring baby oil! Definitely very, extremely, highly recommended. Ingredients: Mineral oil, fragrance.

Skincare - Body -Johnson & Johnson - Baby Oil
paigeedoodles 11/8/2007 7:23:00 PM
I love this! I love the smell and it's so versatile: -As an all-over moisturizer, while my skin is still damp after getting out of the shower -To remove waterproof eye makeup -As cuticle oil -It can be used to add sheen to lips, cheekbones, and eyelids -A tiny drop rubbed between your hands and then smoothed over your hair will tame frizzies and static, and make your hair super-shiny -I slather my feet with this stuff at night, put on socks, and my feet are so soft in the morning. I also like the packaging. It has a small hole that the oil can come out of within the top, and the cover is child-proof, which is great when you share a room with a toddler! I have just recently discovered this product, but I'm sure I'll be using it for a very long time. I'm running out to buy the lavender scent and Burt's Bees apricot!

Concealers -L'Oreal - True Match Naturale Mineral Concealer
paigeedoodles 11/2/2007 11:29:00 PM
I LOVE THIS. I was looking for a concealer that would cover blemishes and dark circles as well as work as a primer for eyeshadow, and this covers (tee hee) all three bases. It is easy to adjust the coverage - anywhere from sheer to total, what-pimple? coverage - and the color is extremely natural and actually looks like my skin. I love the packaging. It's adorable and basically a miniature version of the foundation (love that too!). The cap keeps the brush clean and sanitary, the cover that screws on actually stays on, and the plastic is thick and of good quality. I really like the brush, it feels very expensive and works for both covering pimples and dark circles. I have oily skin, so I really need a powder concealer - cream, stick, or liquid concealers always just melt off my face halfway through the day. This is one of the only powder concealers that you can find in drugstores, but it definitely isn't one of those deals where you have to settle because you can only find one. I adore this, but the only problem is the price - it was $11 for a teeny-tiny little container! Still, I will definitely repurchase.

Pressed Powders -Jane - Oil Free Finishing Powder
paigeedoodles 11/2/2007 11:12:00 PM
Overall, I like this product and use it every day. I bought it to mattify my loose-powder foundation (L'oreal Bare Naturale) without changing the shade, because I finally found 'the' foundation that doesn't leave me pink or orange. Surprisingly enough, even using only powders on my face - foundation, concealer, bronzer - leaves me oily no more than an hour later. Anyway, I bought the colorless shade, which isn't really that colorless. It actually has some coverage, which I wasn't expecting, but it's great for touchups because it will even out anything that's starting to show through. The packaging is actually quite well-made for this being so cheap ($4), and the little flat puff that comes with it works pretty well (unlike most applicators that come with makeup). For being such an inexpensive product, it's actually a good powder - very fine milled and looks smooth and silky on your skin. I can tell that the powder is actually of pretty good quality because even after using it for a few weeks, the surface of the powder doesn't have little bumps on it. I don't know if you know what I'm talking about, but some cheaper powders that I've tried (Covergirl) get little bumps on the surface of the powder after being used for a while. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with medium or dark skin, though, because it will probably wash you out and make your face look very pale. Tip: Apply this after foundation and concealer but before bronzer and blush, because if you apply it after bronzer + blush you'll just wash out the color like you never put it on.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Abercrombie and Fitch CLASSIC
paigeedoodles 11/1/2007 9:00:00 PM
I love this! I haven't worn anything but this for about a year now, and I'm still getting compliments on how good I smell! I absolutely adore the smell of this - as dorky as it sounds, throughout the day I'll occasionally smell my wrists just because I smell so darn good! It's quite cheap, and the bottle is very well-made. The glass is thick and the cap is heavy and stays on - my bottle made it all the way to Florida and back, which is more than I can say for any other perfume that I've traveled with. Overall, this is a fabulous fragrance and definitely one that you should try.
