BB Cream -MISSHA - M Signature Real Complete B.B. Cream SPF 25 PA++
rated 5 of 5

This my holy grail BB cream for sure and I have tried several (missha perfect cover, missha cho bo yang, BRTC gold caviar, Skin 79 hot pink & gold, Holika Holika, Liole, Skin Food & Garnier). I have combo skin (more dry in winter, oily in summer) & I use it with the missha blending primer in winter & a mattifying primer in summer. I'm on my second tube of this in #23 (NW 20-25) & I have a backup waiting. It has nice medium coverage and feels light and nourishing on my skin. It's far from matte, but not super dewy after it sets. I set it with a mineral powder to improve staying power. I get through a workday without patchiness, maybe a blot paper or powder mid-day on the T-zone. I recommend waiting for one of missha's multi-annual sales to purchase this for up to 40% off. Big fan of their snail line, cleansing, oil, eyeliner, and brow cake as well. VIP customer here:)

Liquid -L'Oreal - Visible Lift Serum Absolute Advanced Age-Reversing Makeup
rated 5 of 5
owlcat75 7/3/2012 9:19:00 PM

I have this foundation in two shades: nude beige for fall/winter and natural beige for spring/summer. I absolutely love the silky texture, smooth application, and flawless matte-satin finish. I have combo-oily skin in the summer months, but surprisingly I don't even have to set this with a powder! I get a tad shiny after several hours, nothing a blotting paper or powder can't fix. Pricey for drugstore foundation, but worth it IMO - It feels feels and looks high end. I get lots of compliments on my skin when I wear this and I have recommended it to several others. LOVE IT!

Lipstick -Revlon - Superlustrous Lipstick - Demure (LE)
rated 5 of 5
owlcat75 5/14/2011 12:16:00 PM

I haven't written a review in a while, but I HAD to add my two cents on this lipstick. I absolutely LOVE it! I had been searching for a wearable peachy-pink that wasn't too opaque or frosty with a subtle sheen. I scoured Macy's counters, Sephora, & Ulta - no luck.I love Revlon lippies & had picked up this shade a few times, but being unable to swatch it, I hesitated. I finally caved during a BOGO & it's exactly what I was searching for! I just recently returned from my honeymoon in Cabo with slightly tanned skin (despite wearing SPF 50 the entire trip!) & this color makes me look SO tan and glowing, it's SO pretty! I went back & bought a backkup right away. One of mine is in the regular packaging & the other is in the LE packaging. HG lippie for sure!

Polishes -China Glaze - Ruby Pumps

This color is SO gorgeous! I'm wearing it for my Christmas manicure (with cute Christmas trees on my ring fingers). This red is bright and deep at the same time (?) and packed with tiny red shimmers. The photos just don't do it justice, you have to see it in person. I can't stop staring at my nails! LOVE.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
rated 5 of 5
owlcat75 12/26/2010 11:12:00 PM

This product is a must-have for my dark circles. I use this every day, even when I'm too lazy to apply a full face of makeup - it's a virtual miracle worker! I went to the Bobbi Brown counter at L&T to get color-matched (which I definately recommend). My color is light to medium bisque. I re-purchased this product during Sephora F&F to save an additional 20%, but will re-purchase again at full price if need be - gotta have it!

Toners -Beauty Without Cruelty - Aromatherapy Balancing Facial Toner
rated 5 of 5
owlcat75 11/6/2010 10:03:00 PM

This is my third HIT in a series of new cold weather skin products I've purchased and reviewed (see my reviews for the FAB cleanser and cream). I really like the soft, herbal scent of this toner and the way it prepares my skin for moisturizer without leaving my face feeling tight and dry. I also put this toner in a small mist bottle to set my makeup or just refresh my face and it works great! I just ordered the BWC maximum moisture cream to supplement my current fave as a winter night cream. Thanks for making great cruelty free products BWC!

Moisturizers -First Aid Beauty - Ultra Repair Cream
rated 5 of 5
owlcat75 11/6/2010 9:37:00 PM

I really LOVE this cream! I got it in a kit with the FAB cleanser and the eye roller thingy from Sephora ( I also love the cleanser & wrote a review, but could live without the eye roller). This cream comes in a generous 6 oz. tub (a tube would be nice & more hygenic) and has a lovely whipped texture that absobs nicely into my combo/dry sensitive skin. It has a subtle, natural eucalyptus scent that doesn't last long or cause irritation. It's full of skin-loving botanicals like colloidal oatmeal, ceramides, shea butter, feverfew, and licorice root extract. It has very few ingredients actually and doesn't contain parabens or other nasty chemicals. This is a must have for those with sensitive, normal-dry skin. I've been using it on my kids parched cheeks with great results as well, they love it too! Definite HG status for sure.

Cleansers -First Aid Beauty - Face Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
owlcat75 11/6/2010 9:16:00 PM

I purchased this during Sephora's friends and family sale in a kit that came with this cleanser, the Ultra Repair Cream, and the Eye Roller (?). A very good value for these quality products! I really enjoy this creamy, lightly foaming cleanser. A little goes a long way and it does a great job removing makeup and gently cleansing without stripping my skin. I like that it doesn't leave a film like other creamy cleansers, but leaves my skin feeling soft. It's also paraben, sulfate, pthalate, dye, and fragrance free. I'm SO happy I found this cleanser and the Repair Cream just in time for winter!

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner - Black
rated 5 of 5
owlcat75 10/31/2010 12:13:00 AM

Wow! This cream eyeliner is tops, seriously. I've been using it consistently now for a few weeks. It glides on smoothly and opaque and doesn't budge all day! I also have the Bobbi Brown gel liner in caviar (dark brown) and I like this at least as much as my BB. I got this on sale from $2.99 to $1.99 (gasp!) and my BB was $22.00 - you do the math! I also really like the little angled eyeliner brush that came with it too, I've been using it every day. What a find!

Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Plum Lip Treatment SPF 15
rated 4 of 5
owlcat75 10/31/2010

I really like this lip treatment/tinted lip balm. It imparts a very pretty yet subtle plum-berry wash to my lips and has nice scent. I took one lippie off due to the price, it's a bit much for a lip balm IMO. The packaging is very nice, sturdy and sleek. I purchased mine in a set with a mini twilight face primer/highlight, mini supernova mascara (nice mascara!), and a mini perfume spray from Sephora with my 20% friends and family discount.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Vegan palette
rated 5 of 5
owlcat75 10/30/2010 11:32:00 PM

I love this palette from urban decay! I also have the Baked palette, which has some repeat shades. Even though these are colors I won't wear daily (a bit too shimmery for me) I will still give this palette 5 lippies. I would give it 10 lippies alone for the adorable packaging! I love animals and the illustrations are just wonderful. I display this palette in my bathroom like a piece of art. I wore 3 of the shades together today (half baked, twice baked, and urb) for a pretty fall look. The set comes with a mid-sized 24/7 liner in zero (black) and a mini primer potion in sin (shimmery beige). Animal testing sucks! Yay to urban decay for creating awareness and for making pretty, fun, vegan makeup!

Tinted Moisturizer -Tarte - Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Mosturizer (Smooth Operator)
rated 4 of 5
owlcat75 10/30/2010 10:59:00 PM

I purchased this to replace another, more expensive TM I found & fell for (Pixi illuminating tint & conceal). This TM is great - it glides on smoothly, provides light coverage, & leaves a nice dewy finish, but isn't too shimmery. I like to top this off with concealer where needed and physician's formula pressed mineral powder or MAC MSF natural. The Pixi TM is more shimmery & is $30 for 1 oz (Target only) and this is $36 for 1.7 oz (with coupon applied even less at Sephora or Ulta). Added bonus - I love Tarte's natural ingredients & omission of yucky chemicals:)

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Crazy Rumors - Bubblegum lip balm
rated 5 of 5
owlcat75 10/30/2010 10:48:00 PM

This is my favorite flavor of this fabuous vegan lip balm. I have several others - Brew/chai, Perk/french vanilla, Soda Shop/cola, Squeezed/lemonade & I love them all, but the pink bubblegum flavor is my fave! These balms glide on beautifully, smell great, taste yummy, and moisturize really well.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Humphreys Oil-Controlling Daily Moisturizer
rated 4 of 5
owlcat75 10/6/2010 10:34:00 PM

I really enjoy the Humphreys cleansing gel and this product comes in at a close second. I used this daily for my sensitive combo-oily summer complexion. IDK about it's claim to control oil, but it provides nice hydration without a greasy residue. It contains organic botanicals and also claims to provide long-lasting hydration, balance & even tone, and provide antioxidant protection. It has a fresh herbal scent with no reaction from my sensitive skin. I purchased this at my local health food store in a 2 oz jar for about $12.00, pretty reasonable considering I don't need much. It's not quite moisturizing enough as we approach colder weather, but was great for the summer.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Humphreys Cleansing Gel
rated 4 of 5
owlcat75 10/6/2010 10:20:00 PM

I have sensitive skin that is combo-oily in the spring/summer and combo-dry in the fall/winter. I found this facial cleanser at my local health food store & figured I'd try it since the label states it has organic botanicals, is soap-free, non-drying, and suitable for sensitive skin. It is made by the same company that makes the famous witch hazel with the cute old school packaging. It comes in a generous 8 oz blue pump bottle for about $8.00. It does have a destinct fresh herbal scent that I quite like. I still need to remove residual eye makeup, but I don't mind. It's great! I love it! I will definately re-purchase! Check out my review for the facial cream as well:)
