BB Cream -Smashbox - Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35
rated 3 of 5
oohollyoo 1/7/2012 7:08:00 PM

All the Korean bb creams are too light and leaves a grey cast. I was excited that Smashbox came out with one with darker shades however, medium is too dark for my nc 35 skin. I needed a shade lighter but this was an online purchase and my local Sephora doesn't carry it. I used it alone and with my too faced amazing powder. I think this is best for dry-normal skin. It feels like a moisturizer and gives minimal coverage but good enough to even out my skin tone. You will need a concealer for pimples, dark circle, and scars. I have combination/acne prone skin and it doesn't break me out. There's a glow it gives off so if you like a matte finish, this is not for you. Makes you look dewy. I mix this with my bb cream from The Face Shop (non-returnable store), called oil cut because it's too light and set it with powder. I get great coverage and a natural finish. No more moisturizer and primer or sun screen for me. My friends thought I wasn't wearing any makeup and complimented my skin. I might buy it again with the right shade but I'm always up for trying new things. My only gripe is that there's so little product for almost $40. This does remind my of Physician's Formula tinted moisturizer spf50.

Mascara -Yves Saint Laurent - MASCARA SINGULIER
rated 3 of 5

I was so excited to try something with a false lash effect but ended disappointed. The formula is drying but it does curl, lengthen, and adds volume. Throughout the day from blinking I get little flakes on my cheeks and some in my eyes, ouch! Save your 30 bucks and get use l'oreal's doube extend (blue/gold tube) primer with a volumizing mascara for great results.

Eyeliner -Stila - Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
rated 2 of 5
oohollyoo 10/29/2011 2:25:00 PM

Be careful about not making mistakes because it is hard to correct with this formula. It is not waterproof because it smeared in the corner of my lower lash line and not easy to remove. I like make up for ever's liquid liner better because of the ease of application and the glossy black look but MUFE smeared also and flaked. Stila's intense black is more of a dull looking dark black. The brush was scratchy to me and you do not get much product. It is better than revlon colorstay liquid pen.

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner Stingray
rated 2 of 5
oohollyoo 10/29/2011 2:19:00 PM

I can never find an eyeliner that won't smear or smudge under the corners of my lower lash line. I was hoping this would work, but after four hours in normal room temperature this smeared on me. The color is jet black and the formula is creamy. I am so disappointed. Stila's waterproof liquid eyeliner also smears. There's not much of a difference with this and maybelline's master drama or avon's waterproof glimmersticks. It's going back to Ulta.

Eyeliner -Make Up For Ever - Aqua Liner #13 Black
rated 3 of 5
oohollyoo 10/26/2011 3:29:00 PM

I have yet to find an eyeliner that won't budge. I have tried waterproof pencils, liquids, gel, and powder liner and everything seems to smear under my lashes at the corner despite using primer and translucent powder. The SA at Sephora recommended this liner but after 4 hours it moved and flaked on the bottom corner of my eyes. This is a lot better than Revlon colorstay, L'oreal, and Maybelline line stilleto. But for the price I'd expect better outcome. After speaking to the manager at Ulta, a SA at Sephora and reading reviews, I am going to try Stila's liquid liner and as for pencil I heard Benefit's badgal liner works well.

Powder -BeneFit Cosmetics - Get Even #2
rated 4 of 5
oohollyoo 10/26/2011 3:19:00 PM

Get even 02 is good for light-med skin tone with yellow undertone. I use this to set my double wear light liquid foundation with a brush on my 12 hour work days and didn't have to retouch. When I only wear my Too Faced amazing powder foundation, I touch up once daily with get even to absorb the shine/oil and it evens out my skin tone. Apply with a light hand or it can look chalky. The matte finish last longer than Mac's blot powder and Mark by Avon's blot powder. It is much more opaque than other blot powders but does not cover as well as a powder foundation.

Palettes -Too Faced - Glamour to Go II Palette
rated 3 of 5
oohollyoo 10/22/2011 10:06:00 PM

I got this as a birthday present and thought it was so cute. I have light-med skin and I think the colors would look much better on someone with fair skin or dark skin because the colors of the eye shadows are neutral tones but with shimmer. It was very boring for my yellowish-tan skin and didn't really make my dark brown eyes pop, not to mention I have med-dark brown hair. The eye shadow pigments are true to color and feels very soft. The lip glosses are like kids make up and the blush in visage surprisingly gave my cheeks little bumps. I would use the eye shadows if I'm in a hurry but this is not top picks out of my make up case.

Concealers -Ulta - Incognito Concealer
rated 4 of 5
oohollyoo 10/22/2011 9:56:00 PM

I got this concealer during the 2 for $10 deal and $5 off $10 purchase. I only paid $2.50 each. This a great concealer for blemishes and redness around the nose. It contains alpha hydroxy acid. It's also marketed for under eye circles but I haven't tried it and would think that it might look drying considering it's a stick concealer. This is much better than maybelline's pure concealer and way cheaper than Murads.

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
rated 4 of 5
oohollyoo 10/22/2011 9:44:00 PM

I like this better than the UDPP because it feels less dry. It goes on very soft like a lotion and the pigment of my eye shadows are vibrant. Lasting power is great. Always shake it up before using because there can be oil separation when laying flat for awhile.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Carbon
rated 3 of 5
oohollyoo 10/22/2011 9:40:00 PM

I was in need of an eyeliner that would not smear and the make artist suggested I use carbon as an eyeliner. It's easy to line and is moderately pigmented but after a couple of hours it smudged underneath my lower lash line. : (

Pressed Powders -LORAC - porefection
rated 5 of 5
oohollyoo 9/18/2011 9:20:00 PM

Perfect with porefection baked perfecting powder for a silky-smooth, poreless-looking finish. This is non-drying, fragrance and paraben-free formula is infused with salicylic acid and antioxidants to help skin appear youthful, healthy and clear. Get a flawless, smooth, matte finish. *Good for all skin types, including sensitive, oily and acne-prone skin. Apply by using powder puff or brush. Ingredients: Talc, nylon-12, dimethicone, isopropyl palmitate, polysorbate 20, magnesium aluminum sulfate, lauroyl lysine, simmondsia chinesis (jojoba) seed oil, retinyl palmitate, tocopheryl acetate, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, salicylic acid, phenoxyethanol, sodium dehydroacetate, bht. may contain mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxides, chromium oxide greens. Personally I think this is a great powder for someone with oily, acne-prone, combination, or someone with visible pores. It gives light coverage alone and sets well with liquid foundation. My pores appeared smaller and it was matte for a couple of hours then became mildly shiny. My face broke out from exercising and going to the sauna and this helped! Within a week my skin cleared up and I like that it was matte-normal finish. I wish it came with a sponge or velour puff with a compartment but it doesn't. I rotate with this and my too faced amazing face powder foundation. Sometimes I set it on top of my too faced powder and other times I set it on top of my estee lauder double wear light liquid foundation. Overall it's a good everyday powder. I have light-med skin tone, nc 35 and I wear the PF3. For $32 you get 0.32oz. At Ulta I got this with a 20% off coupon.

Powder -Cover FX - Cover Fx - Powder Fx
rated 2 of 5
oohollyoo 9/5/2010 10:51:00 AM

I was on the search to replace my laura merciers pf bc it caused little bumps and contained parabens. I hopped off the mineral makeup bandwagon a long time ago but considering this is pressed and was suppose to control oil with good coverage i gave it a try. I want a natural matte look but forgot that mica acts as a light diffuser and makes me shiney. I can move my face and you can see lighting bounce off from it in different angles but not like tin man face that i get from bare minerals. no spf and the coverage was light-med and accentuated my pores. I took this back to sephora and now I am using too faced amazing face powder foundation spf 20 and contains no parabens and controls oil well. see review if interested.

Powder -Yves Saint Laurent - Matt Touch Compact Foundation SPF 20
rated 2 of 5
oohollyoo 9/5/2010 10:25:00 AM

For $57 I thought this would be my HG PF. It says it's matt with spf 20 color match 05 peach was perfect for my nc 35 skin, prestigous brand, with gorgeous compact. This is more like a pressed powder, it offered little coverage no matter how applied. This kept me shine free for only 3 hrs. The cute compact gets smudgy finger prints on it and overall I was disappointed. I am much happier with Too Faced amazing face spf 15 pf for $32.

Lip Liners -Ulta - Automatic Lip Liner
rated 5 of 5
oohollyoo 8/28/2010 8:29:00 PM

Yea i know you can get lipliners anywhere but an automatic one with your fave color with good quality for a buck is hard to find! I have flesh and spice and sometimes use them alone or mix them together but they go well with my lipsticks and glosses. I usually wear nudes, rose, pinks, with some browns.

Eyeliner -Ulta - automatic eyeliner
rated 5 of 5
oohollyoo 8/28/2010 8:21:00 PM

OMG! The best automatic eyeliner there is! I got the black one for a buck needing to make $10 in order to use my coupon at Ulta and thought i was going to chunk it bc who would think it would be of good quality for that price. I went back at bought the blk brown, teal, moss, olive, and raisin. I love them all ! The colored ones last longer in terms of not smuding under my eyes than th black and black brown. The black is super blk and too harsh for the day and black brown is more like black. This is better than chanel's waterproof eyeliner, estee lauder, prestige, revlon colorstay, lancome, and clinique! Check out Ulta's automatic lipliners!
