Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Pink Grapefruit Refreshing Lip Balm

I've been using their pomegranate lip balm for AGES, but decided I'd try this one...I actually think I like it better. It seems to last much longer, more moisturizing and it smells just like grapefruit. Not really any taste...No tint...Not sticky. No complaints at all! It seems quite difficult to find, though...And why isn't it on their website? :|

Mascara -Almay - One Coat Mascara (Thickening)

LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff! HG for sure. Though, I do have long lashes to begin with...Either way, this makes them much more thick and long and I feel like putting it on is good for my lashes. Or at least it doesn't harm them in any way like other mascara tends to do. Will certainly purchase again and again.

Far too light a colour for me, I think. Made me look sick. Though, unlike others, I thought it applied pretty well. :P

Lipstick -NYX - Round Lipstick - Peach Bellini

Beautiful colour...Poor texture. It's very glittery and waxy and applies unevenly even on exfoliated, moisturized lips. It's too bad because the colour really is pretty. Peachy coral colour. Avoid it and get Haute Melon instead...Very similar colour, but Haute Melon doesn't have any glitter and it applies very smoothly.

Lipstick -NYX - Rose
rated 1 of 5

AWFUL! This isn't the NYX Rose that has been out for awhile...This is the new one that was released with the 24 new colours (along with Haute Melon, Shiva, Blush...etc.). Anyway, it's terrible. It's basically like a stick of glitter with a bit of colour mixed in. The glitter is very fine, but there's SO much of it. It's very frosty and glittery and waxy. I don't typically advise people not to buy a product...because everyone has a different opinion and what I might hate, others might love. But...Just DON'T get this! lol

Eyeliner -NYX - Glitter Mania Jumbo Pencil
rated 4 of 5

I love these things! I have Jaipur, which is blue. As others have already said, it's not pigmented...Just glitter suspended in wax. I actually prefer that it's just the glitter and has no pigmentation. It glides on very easily and (for me) stays on. I like that it's in pencil form. I wouldn't want to use the glitter palettes and have to dirty up my fingers or a brush to get the product out. It can be difficult to build up if you want a really dense amount of glitter. I guess they discontinued this stuff? I can't find it on their site. Shame...I wanted to buy some more.

Lipstick -NYX - Round lipstick- Milan

Out of my many NYX lipsticks, I use this one the most. It's a MLBB colour for me. NC15 To feed off what the reviewer below me has said, I wouldn't say it makes me look goth, but it definitely makes my makeup look more intense. That could just be because the nude colour takes attention away from my lips and onto my eyes. (: Either way, I'm always reaching for this one to put on before school or going shopping or anywhere casual.

Eye Makeup Remover -New York Color - Eye Makeup Remover
rated 4 of 5
onarainbow 12/21/2010 3:19:00 AM

Impulsed this because I've never used a makeup remover before and wanted to test it out...And it said *NEW!* and I can't resist new things. Typically I use olive oil...Natural and works great. It was between this one, Almay or Rimmel and I chose this because it was the cheapest (3.99). It's oil-free and claims to get rid of even waterproof mascara easily. Anyway, I came home and tried it out (wearing Mac eyeshadow, Maybelline Great Lash mascara and Rimmel eyeliner). I put 5 or 6 drops (it comes out in drops, which I find convenient) onto a cotton pad and rested the cotton pad over my eye for a few seconds while patting gently. I took it off to see what it got and most of my shadow/mascara was already off! One gentle swipe took off the rest. It left the area around my eyes really soft. It actually works better than my olive oil, but I could live without the ingredients (SLS, parabens) and I just googled and found that NYC tests on animals. So, I won't repurchase for those reasons, but it's a great product!

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Olive Oil
rated 5 of 5
onarainbow 12/18/2010 3:07:00 PM

Perfect for basically everything...eating, removing makeup, moisturizing skin and scalp... I use it everyday to take off my eye makeup (I don't wear foundation/blush/concealer, though when I do it works for that as well!) and it leaves the skin around my eyes really soft and clean. The first few times I used it, it burned my eyes and made them blurry. But, I stuck with it and I guess my eyes got used to it because I had absolutely no problems after that! It's never made me break out and I do have very sensitive skin. My skin is quite dry and this works wonders for that.

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Del Sol-Color Changing Nail Polish
rated 4 of 5
onarainbow 12/3/2010 2:51:00 PM

LOVE these! I bought Peek-a-Boo for myself, and Pretty in Pink for my mom when we were on a cruise. Peek-a-Boo is a creamy nude colour in the bottle, but it goes onto the nails completely clear. No colour at all. It changes VERY drastically in the sun to a deep red/magenta. Really bright and pretty. The problem is that it didn't stay on long at all. The day after I applied it, it was chipped and awful...Being clear polish inside, that didn't matter much, but because it's so bright in the sun you noticed where it had chipped and peeled. I tried it again a few weeks later with a coat of a different polish overtop, and it still didn't last long. Pretty in Pink looks milky white in the bottle...On the nails it's a pearly white sheer colour that reflects purple. Under really bright light the nails almost look like they're glowing light purple. In the sun they go a medium pink (if that). I wasn't a big fan of the colour it changed into. It wasn't a hot pink or a pastel pink, just a plain crayon pink (something I otherwise wouldn't wear). Though, it seems to stay on MUCH longer than the Peek-a-Boo polish and I really like the original colour. I wish I'd have gotten more!

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
rated 4 of 5
onarainbow 10/8/2010 8:47:00 PM

I absolutely love this mascara! I have the normal version in very black. The wand is very small and 'organized' if that makes any sense...It's easy to apply because the product stays between the bristles itself and doesn't get stuck in between, leaving clumps. It definitely lengthens my lashes and is very buildable if still wet (once it's dry, anymore layers will just create spider lashes). Depending on how you apply it, you can go more natural or get the thick, long falsies look. My lashes are long, healthy and soft when the mascara is removed (though it does take some effort to remove the residue from under your eyes after washing!). Much, much better than the MAC mascaras and the other ones I've tried! Though, I haven't tried many, so I can't say it's my HG just yet. (: EDIT: After trying Almay's lengthening mascara...This just seems like such crap. :P I wouldn't purchase this again!

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - LovelySkin Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
onarainbow 8/17/2010 2:22:00 PM

My mom got the sample of this and the acne gel when she ordered her EltaMD sunscreen and moisturizer. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I LOVE this stuff! I was kind of skeptical about it at first because it's a lesser (hardly) known brand and is the equivalent of buying no brand food at the grocery store. But, I love to try new cleansers because I haven't found my perfect one yet! I do think this is my perfect cleanser! Generally I check the ingredients in a product before I use it, but I'm scared to check because this works so well for me! My skin is very dry after completing accutane a few years ago. I don't have acne, but I do have plenty of clogged pores on my forehead and nose as well as a red nose and red cheeks. My face feels so soft after using this stuff. It's not as bumpy and the redness has faded a lot. I'll definitely be ordering the larger size! I should also note that you really only need a few drops. It lathers up and becomes foamy and feels really nice. I use it at night and don't wash my face in the morning. Edit: After using it for awhile, I've decided that it's not as nice as it once was. Kind of drying and doesn't seem to do much to improve my skin. That could very well just be my skin's current condition, though.

Moisturizers -Jason Natural Cosmetics - 25,000 IU Vitamin E Age Renewal Moisturizing Creme
rated 5 of 5

ACCUTANE USERS! This is the perfect product for you! I went on accutane when I was 16 for my horrible acne. I'm 19 now, and while the acne is completely gone, my pre-accutane oily skin is now severly dry. So much so that even after putting moisturizer on an hour later my face gets flaky again. This stuff is wonderful. I put it on in the evening before I go to bed. It rubs in very nicely, though it does take awhile to absorb! So, I don't suggest you use it in the morning unless you have very dry skin or don't mind your face being shiny. With that said, when I wake up in the morning, my face is so soft. The tone is more even and my cheeks and nose are less red. It's wonderful. I also find that my skin's texture is more even. This has never broken me out. I wouldn't worry about this hurting your skin at all. The earlier reviews claim that it burned their sensitive skin, but since then, the formula has been changed. My skin is as sensitive as they come and it feels like putting air on my face. What could be seen as a negative aspect is the packaging. It comes in a good sized plastic jar (when it's empty it would be great to reuse for something). Easy to contaminate, but it's always a good idea before you put anything on your face to wash your hands, so I see no issue. Definitely my HG evening moisturizer!

Self Tanners -Aveeno - Continuous Radiance Moisturizing Lotion
rated 1 of 5
onarainbow 7/2/2010 2:36:00 PM

I got this a year or so ago after wanting to get a tan without actually using the sun or a tanning bed. Without the damage... Anyway, I got the fair skin one. I haven't really used it properly until now. It's so gradual that you really do have to put it on once a day (or more than once) to actually see any results. I couldn't be bothered with that and put it on once or twice a week and was wondering why I hardly got any tan at all. Last night I spend quite awhile putting on many layers of this stuff before bed. I put on a layer, waited 10 minutes or so for it to soak in and then did another layer and went on like that. When I was done the last layer (I think I did four...), my skin looked pretty nice already. Looked very healthy and glowing. But, when I woke up it was a different story. I have very pale, cool coloured skin otherwise, but this stuff turned me a shade of yellow. Not orange! Yellow. Worse in my opinion! It looks like I have jaundice. I wouldn't say I'm all that tanned either. No deepening of tone. Just a change in colour from white to yellow. Definitely won't buy it again.

Hair Removal -Nair - 3 in 1 Hair Removal Lotion (Gentle Formula)
rated 5 of 5
onarainbow 6/13/2010 6:22:00 PM

There were other Nair products listed...But I decided to create one specifically for this one because it's a different (gentle) formula and is meant for the body and not the bikini area or eyebrows...etc. In the past I've tried the Veet product where you smooth on a shaving cream-like foam wait a few minutes and 'shave' it off with a plastic razor. It didn't work for me AT ALL. Not on my arms, legs, pits...nowhere. I left it on for 15 minutes thinking it might just take awhile to work, but it didn't. I decided to stick with shaving until my friend mentioned that she uses this stuff. I bought it yesterday for $5 CAD at Superstore and tested it out today. First I tried a little patch on my leg. I left it on for 5 minutes and rinsed it off. Worked wonderfully! All of the hair was gone and there was no stubble. Just like how it is when I shave. After that, I tried some on my brows (despite the label saying don't put it near your eyes!)...on the peach fuzz between my brows and the longer hairs above my brows. Left it on for 5 minutes and again it worked wonderfully. Every bit of hair gone. Finally, I tried it on my bikini area...Making sure not to go near my lady bits! D: I left it on for about 7 minutes this time before wiping and rinsing it off in the shower. It didn't work as well this time, but I'm assuming that's because the hair down there is much more coarse and thick than that of my brows and legs. Once everything was rinsed, it looked quite stubbly, but was still smooth. It looked like my legs do a a day after shaving them. That might just be because my hair is so dark and my skin's so pale. I've never shaved or waxed down there before. Anyway, in a few days I'm gonna try it again, but leave it on for a few minutes longer and see if that makes a difference. Either way, I like it much more than shaving! It's easy and very fast. It didn't burn at all. When I did it on my bikini line, it was a bit red once I rinsed it off, but after 10 minutes the redness was gone. I was surprised I didn't have more of a reaction to the cream. I once got my eyebrows threaded and after that the area was red for the rest of the day!
