Self Tanners -SUN Laboratories - Dark Sunsation Lotion
rated 3 of 5

I really haven't had the greatest experiences with this particular brand of self tanner. This one's color is decent enough but to me is rather orangey in color ( I have not tried the Ultra Dark, but would like to). It stays on a great length of time, however it comes off very patchy and doesn't seem to fade evenly. This particular self tanner definitely requires a good moisturizer to go with it. For me, I've found way better products so I doubt I would repurchase this. This will serve as my facial tanner to help use up the product. It doesn't cause breakouts which is good. Don't forget to use some latex gloves. It stains very easily. Overall, my personal rating is mediocre.

Self Tanners -St.Tropez - Self Tan Dark Bronzing Lotion
rated 5 of 5

This review is for the St. Tropez Dark Tanning Lotion in the black bottle w/the teal lid. This is one of the best self tanners I've found. I LOVE it! The color is rich and brown, no orange. Wear time is great. There are a few things to watch out for though...You should definitely wait until bed to put this on w/your rattiest pj's and sheets waiting. It will transfer, although I have had NO problem getting the color out of my pj's and sheets. Now fair warning, upon immediate application, you will turn Kermit the Frog green. Don't freak! Its part of the formula and it DOES go away. It will sink in and adjust to your skin tones (part of the technology) and will have the usual bronze overlay look. The next morning after the rinse off shower, you should look beautifully bronzed. I hate St. Tropez's tanning mitt and have great results simply using latex gloves for application. Don't do it bare handed! It won't be pretty. I would say this is definitely one to try and please read up on the product and it's technology before freaking out on the product or company.

Self Tanners -Fake Bake - flawless self tan liquid
rated 5 of 5
olliesbear 12/3/2012 8:39:00 AM

I'm a self tanner connoisseur with decently fair skin with neutral undertones. I find this is one of the best self tanners I've come across. I've tried St. Tropez (still a top fav for sure), Xen Tan, Sun Labs, and other Fake Bake products as well as drugstore. I've always liked the color Fake Bake products have given me. Nice and natural. This is perfect for fall/winter color. Just the right amount w/o being over the top for that time of year and very buildable. Application is a breeze and I honestly don't find it that messy. What mess there is, I can easily wipe up w/o problem. The fade is even and not patchy what-so-ever. As everyone else has mentioned, this has one of the best smells of any self tanner I've tried and the price is right also. I definitely recommend giving it a try.

Crème -Laura Mercier - Silk Creme Foundation
rated 3 of 5
olliesbear 11/2/2012 11:57:00 AM

I haven't written a review in a very long time...this foundation is nice overall. The first time I tried it, I was matched to Rose Ivory (my palest state) and could wear Medium Ivory with soft self tanning. This is definitely full coverage, actually I prefer to mix it with moisturizer to sheer it out. I also found that this settles into every line no matter how small on my face and I don't really have any. It accentuates the fine ones I do have. The moisturizer mixture also helps with this SOME...I wound up returning and purchasing an old favorite. I'm sure for some it's great, but for me it's a miss.

Lipstick -MAC - The Faerie Glen lipstick
rated 5 of 5

I remember when this first came out, I went hunting and it was sold out. BOO! The girl tried telling me that Plink! would be the closest dupe...ummm...No. I didn't fall for that, but shrugged and figured oh well maybe it will be re-released sometime soon. Luckily, I was able to swap for it recently and am so glad I never completely gave up hunting for it. I have a hard time with nudes due to the color and depth of my lip color naturally. Concealer nudes look really bad on them, well at least the ones I've tried so far, and pinky nudes are usually too sheer for some reason and the tones are eaten up by my lips. This is HG for me x10. Perfect. It gives me the pinky-nude color I've been looking for. Of course it would be LE...next time it pops up...be it at a CCO or new collection I'm snagging several.

Lipstick -Milani - HD Advanced Lip Color - Classy Nude
rated 4 of 5
olliesbear 10/30/2011 1:50:00 PM

Really pretty MLBB for me. It doesn't deposit a lot of color on my lips but smoothes out the texture and adds a beautiful shine and sparkle. I like the sleek packaging and the price is as usual for drugstore lippies these days ($10). Nice light, non offensive smell and I don't need a mirror to apply or HAVE to top with a gloss if I don't want to. I can easily see this living in my purse. Definitely do not regret purchase and I would definitely try more colors. I don't have any negatives to say on the lipstick other than to agree with other reviews this is a more sheer color. If you curious, I say go for it. To me, it seems pretty goof-proof for many skin tones as the color is a nice peachy based neutral.

Polishes -OPI - My Chihuahua Bites
rated 5 of 5

This is hands down my favorite summer, no...anytime, toe nail polish. Whether I'm pale or tanned, it looks great. My favorite thing about this color is the pinkish tones in it and also the fact it's a creme finish. Bout to buy a 2nd bottle. That doesn't happen...

Blush -MAC - Prim & Proper - Liberty of London [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
olliesbear 4/9/2010 4:57:00 PM

I have been eyeing Blushbaby for awhile now as I needed a good nudey colored blush. When I first saw the Libery of London collection I had ZERO interest! I thought "yeah yeah cute packaging but the colors are not for me". I remember seeing the color description for this blush thinking yeah but it won't be that great. Oh but once I saw it on the preview websites I knew it was mine! I have N5 skintone as my usual not tan not pale color and this looks PHENOMENAL on me. So I ordered the day it showed itself on MACs website. When it arrive I thought it looked really bleh and was feeling prematurely disappointed as it is gorgeous on. I don't find it to be freakishly pigmented. It is very highly pigmented but not like Fashion Frenzy was for me. I'm not terrified when I apply it and I can use my usual SK blush brush for it (not the skunk one). My mother even commented on how pretty it looked on me and as I have stated before she is PICKY! So I definitely recommend this product for pale to light/med and medium complexions. So glad I got this. I want a back up but dunno if I will need it as it will last me awhile I believe. Oh and it's a Satin finish my favorite finish from MAC.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Sexy Hair Concepts - Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Argan Oil Nourishing Styling Treatment
rated 5 of 5

I love this stuff! Its much more moisturizing and nourishing than biosilk which is what I have used for well over 10 years. My hair feels in better condition and much smoother. Biosilk is still great but this is definately taking over!

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
rated 5 of 5
olliesbear 12/18/2009

I received a sample (of which I have used for about 2 weeks) of this from sephora after hearing all the great reviews. I was at my palest when I went to get matched and Ceylan is perfect! It looks so pasty and yellow but is truly an ideal match. I am IN LOVE with this foundations coverage. I like medium and this is what it is. I don't notice a glow but it's definately not matte. I would say more of a true natural finish. This stuff evens out my skin (redness, damage from tanning that is starting to make it's appearance and the occasional blemish of sorts) and doesn't cake (my husband is very picky about that and obvious looking foundation so he would tell me) It lasts all day and I don't set with powder (don't need to!) So glad I found a fantastic replacement for my Px Virtual Skin. *EDIT* Finally made it back for a rematch and Santa Fe is THE perfect match for my skin! Loves it! Raising to a full 5 stars as this stuff is definitely deserving IMO.

Styling Products -Dove - Intense Damage Therapy Heat Shield Styling Spray
rated 4 of 5
olliesbear 12/4/2009 9:38:00 AM

I personally like this stuff...way way more than Sleek.look Iron Smoother. This makes my hair super soft, straight, and frizz free. I get compliments on my healthy hair when I use it =). It doesn't hurt it's a drugstore item either and the price is awesome.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Smoke & Diamonds [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
olliesbear 11/20/2009 11:29:00 AM

Ehh...don't really get the hype over this eyeshadow. It's nice and all but there is nothing that awesome about it. It pulls a greener tone on me sometimes. I like it ok but rarely touch it and it doesn't really do anything great for me or my eyes...rather boring. Texture is great but I much prefer my style snob. I'll hang onto this as it's my only grayish shade (besides a sample of sweet sienna...total dupe BTW).

Foundations -Smashbox - High Definition Healthy FX Foundation

I'm really surprised by the low ratings of this foundation. I received a sample and L2 is a perfect match for me. I love this! I may have to purchase a full size. It has excellent coverage and finish to it. It doesn't sink it to my pores at all and doesn't oxidize. Very pretty, natural finish.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shale Eyeshadow
rated 4 of 5
olliesbear 10/31/2009 11:36:00 PM

I have a funny story behind this shadow...I had originally purchased this shadow back in 2004...well, I lost it..as in it just disappeared outta my bag so I thought it had been taken and eventually forgot about it. Fast forward to 2009, I was thoroughly cleaning out my car and what do I find sitting pretty in it's box in perfect condition on a platform above my accelerator pedal?! SHALE EYESHADOW. It was like getting a present lol. Anyhow, on to the review. I just about put this shadow up for swap b/c the last time I tried wearing it I put on way to much and looked like I had blacked my eye. Well I decided to give it one more chance and used it simply in my crease with only one other color for lid and highlight and turned out to be a lovely new look for me. Dunno if it will be a favorite but nice to know I can use it. Should be good for my green eyes. I marked no on repurchase b/c I'm sure I will want a different color by then and this one will last me forever.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Nymphette lipglass
rated 2 of 5
olliesbear 10/2/2009 7:52:00 PM

This really failed to impress. The base color without all that gold shimmer is MLBB. The gold shimmer does me in. Its way to much and looks down right strange on me. B2M it goes towards a better lippy, gloss, or shadow.
