I just bought a second bottle of this even though it is ridiculously expensive. It blends in really well with my skin so I can use it sparingly at parts where my skin is OK and use a second layer where I have scars and blemishes. The consistency is rather fluid and not very rich or moisturizing but it doesn't dry out my skin at all. I can apply it best with my fingertips, which I love ( no need to carry extra brushes around) The pump is great since it get's all of the product out, no need to ply open the packaging to get the last bit out like I did, there was nothing left! The finish is not too dewy and not too matt , just perfect. Also the lasting power is pretty impressive. Overall my favourite foundation so far. I will continue to buy unless I find something cheaper.
Moisturizers -Origins - A Perfect World Antioxidant Moisturizer
okuko 4/3/2013 10:27:00 PM
I just finished a 30ml jar of this. Overall I think it's a very normal moisturizer and a tad boring. The smell is not very strong but pleasant to me. I doesn't sink in immediately and leaves a slight greasy film. Otherwise it has not caused any outbreaks for me, but I feel it also isn't doing much good. I don't think I will repurchase.
Makeup Brushes -Shiseido - Perfect Foundation Brush

This foundation brush is quite small and very dense. Stippling foundation on achieves a very flawless look with this brush. Because of its size, it's a great brush to travel with. Mine has not lost a single hair and the shape is still perfect. The only problem with this brush is that it sucks up a lot of product so a lot of the foundation ends up stuck between the hairs. Also it takes a while to clean, because of the dense hairs. Altogether a great brush, but for me something more for special occasions than everyday use.
Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Mama Bee Leg & Foot Creme
okuko 8/27/2012 3:28:00 AM
First of all I could NOT figure the difference between this and the normal Burt's Bees pepermint foot creme. No idea why there are selling two distinct product with exactly the same ingredients, Anyway...I bought it to relieve swolen ankles and tired legs and just make my legs and feet feel more comfortable during pregnancy. It's ok, I think I might get the same results from adding a few drops of peppermint oil to a normal cheap body lotion. The smells is strong, but more peppermint than menthol, which is good. The cooling sensation on your skin lasts for a while. Just an average foot creme, but nothing to rave about. I think I would prefer a less thick consistency.
Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Oil Free Moisture - SPF 15
okuko 8/27/2012 3:11:00 AM
I like it. It's definitely a no-frills product. My skin is fairly dry in parts so I cannot comment on the "oil-free" properties, with my skin it absorbs quickly, leaves no greasy residue at all and my skin feels very comfortable and moisturized. It’s a nice product to have around for a casual day, with SPF added and not a lot of extra smell. Also it works well under make up. The pump is great and the price too. Nothing to complain.
I don't see the benefit (haha!) of having a concealar in a pot like this. It's very unhygenic, impossible to use the right dosage and probably a like a petri dish of germs. When using the spatula it's very hard to pick up only the tiny amount needed, so there is always a lot of waste. The product itself is highly pigmented, creamy and easy to blend. I don't think it lasts a long time and the finish is also not that great. For me it's a clear "Meh"
I think this blush is suitable for people with very light or pale skin. Only one coat will not show on my skin at all. I need to use of few coats to achieve a noticeable color and even then it's very subtle to say the least. The powder itself is not as finely milled as other powders usually are. There are coarse bits here and there. It does have a slight shimmer, which is nice. I won't repurchase because of the color. BTW Zea May is just a nicer way of saying Corn
This product is made for asian-sensitive skin. This range also has a tinted BB cream version with a high SPF, but this review is for the normal sunscreen. It comes in a small bottle, whick you need to shake a little before applying the fluid. The product is very watery and light, it's supposed to be non-greasy, but I think it does leave a slightly greasy film on my skin after application. Also I think it contains alcohol, which irritates my eyes a little. Once it has fully soaked in to the skin, it will not leave a white cast and it's suitable as a make-up base. Overall a nice product. Big Con: It's about 35US$ for 30ml. That's insane.
Treatments -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Vitamin C Vitality Facial Serum
okuko 8/20/2012 10:47:00 PM
I'm not impressed by this at all. It's more a light lotion than a serum. It smells too much like orange candy to me and instead of being absorbed to the skin quickly, it sits on top of my skin not having much effect at all apart from the smell and an uncomfortable feeling. A serum for me should give an extra boost of moisture and be absorbed quickly. This doesn't.
Even though it says all ingredients are organic, I'm still very sceptical about the palm oil. Most palm oil is farmed on what previously was rain forrest in South East Asia, and lots of Orang-Utan habitat is being destroyed because of it. So the palm oil might be organic, but could still be unsustainable. Also their website has no information about this. The product itself is nice. It's cleansing and non-drying.I'm not a fan of the smell. It smells a little like gummybears to me. I will nor repurchase because of the palm oil.
I've been using this for a few nights and I must say it really works. It does sting and it's very important to not get to close to the eye area. My skin is a lot clearer with smaller and noticeable cleaner pores. Will update after a few weeks.
Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Melvita - Stretch mark prevention
okuko 8/7/2012 10:07:00 PM
Of course I cannot say for sure that this prevents stretch marks, but it does make my belly feel very smooth and soft. When I was a teenager I got stretch marks just from growing on my hips and breasts, so I was a bit concerned. So far I have no stretch marks and I'm almost 5 months pregnant now. I do not use it every day, maybe 3 to 4 times a week, once a day. The cream is very rich with a pleasant smell of fruits and honey. A little bit can easily be spread across your belly and hips and it is soaked up quickly by the skin leaving it very soft and nourished. The texture is not light at all though, not like a lotion, more like a cream. I think it's a tad too expensive, I feel like I can get the same effect from a cheaper product.
Masks -Unlisted Brand - Andalou Naturals - Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask
okuko 8/7/2012 9:39:00 PM
This mask is nice, I think the price is reasonable and I like the ingredient list. It's cruelty free, non GMO. The product itself comes in a little plastic jar and is a clear, slightly green yellow gel with little bits (pumpkin seeds?) in it, it reminds me of pumpkin puree actually. After applying I could feel a slight tingle, but nothing painful or unpleasant. It's very cooling and refreshing and the smell is a pleasant pumpkin/christmas smell but not overpowering. After rinsing my skin feels very soft and my pores are refined, dry patches are smoother and the skin is moisturized and a little more even, not dry at all. It's a lovely product, the only slight problem might be the jar, but I can live with that.
Cleansers -Juice Beauty - JUICE BEAUTY CLEANSING MILK
okuko 8/7/2012 9:15:00 PM
This is the first Juice Beauty product I've used. It's a very very very very gentle cleanser. It has no soap,so it will not form a lather or dry out your skin at all. On the contrary, I think it has a lot of oils in it and will moisturize and smooth out dry patches of your skin. What this is really bad at, is actually cleaning your skin. The smell is very fruity and almost a bit like chewing gum or ice-cream. The pump is great. I use one or two pumps for my face. What I dislike about it, is that it just does not remove my make-up efficiently. I don't wear a lot of make up actually, just mineral powder foundation, blush and eyebrow liner and with this product I have to cleanse at least two times to make sure there are no residues of make up on my skin and even then there might be some makeup left. I don't have the time or patience for this. It works well together with the clairsonic. So now I use it 2 times a week with the clairsonic, but it's not a daily cleanser for me, it just doesn't clean well enough even though it's a good quality product. Maybe something more for older people, who don't wear make up at all or people who live in a nature reserve without any pollutants. ;)
Mascara -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Zero Smudge Lengthening Mascara
okuko 8/2/2012 9:57:00 PM
I like this. I bought a little sample of it and have been using is for about 2 months now. It does not flake or smudge which happens to me with a lot of mascaras. Application can be natural and soft or heavy and dramatic, both is possible. If you apply it lightly all the lashes are seperated and nicely coated. With a heavier application is does not clump too much. But the biggest plus = it really lasts all day!!! Overall a really nice mascara and I will probably buy the full size of it.
