Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Smooth Away hair removing pads

This product barely worked on my very miniscule body hair, but I know for a fact that it actually does work! My brother thought it was crap at first. Then he started rubbing gently on his bushy arm. After a few seconds, he pulled it back and noticed that he had a huge bald spot in the area he was rubbing in. Once I saw that it worked on him, I allowed my armpit hair to grow out to half an inch (funny, no?). When I used it on my armpit, it removed all the hair completely! It even looked nicer than when I shave. So yes, the product works, but only if you have enough hair to remove.

Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Volume Boost Liquid Lipcolour
rated 4 of 5
ohmykaun 1/4/2009 3:54:00 AM

This lip volumizer was the first I had ever tried. When I first used it, I had absolutely no idea that it was supposed to tingle! In fact, I thought it was odd that it was tingling. It was so hard and rough that I literally thought my lips were GROWING! Funny, I know! I used it day in and day out because the feeling became addictive. Also, I started to notice that it was actually plumping out my lips, like it is meant to do! It won't make your lips huge or anything, it just really brings out the lips that you already have. Unfortunately, it stopped working. I don't know if it expired (it has been less than six months!) or if I got used to the feeling. The color is still amazing as ever, especially when I use Burt's Bees Wax lip balm as a primer.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
rated 1 of 5

For this product, the price is VERY expensive. I first used this product when I was sixteen (five years ago!), and was at the peak of my acne days. At first, when all the pimples started popping out, I thought to myself that things will get worse before it gets any better. But no! It NEVER got better! My skin turned really red and irritated. At one point, I even had a burn mark between my eyebrows, going all the way down my nose, all from this product! I stopped using it for years. I tried it again last year, hoping that my skin aged well enough to tolerate this system. Again, my skin started to break out. Thankfully it was not as bad as before. Unfortunately, I never EVER saw results. The acne kept piling on and piling on until I finally gave it a rest. There are some people who swear by this product, but there are a lot who have seen the same results (or lack thereof!) as I did. It's not worth even trying.

Skincare - Face -Neutrogena - Neutrogena Advanced Solutions Acne Therapy System
rated 2 of 5
ohmykaun 1/4/2009 3:41:00 AM

I bought this product after trying many other acne therapy treatments. At first, I thought it was working wonders. But then I put it through the ultimate test--the once-a-month breakout I get momentarily after my period starts. As with every other product, this one failed to prevent the breakouts. Also, it failed to clear it up. It worked just as any other ordinary facial cleanser would--it was successful at cleaning up my skin, but no so successful at clearing it. The daytime lotion leaves my skin dry and is far from being an even decent moisturizer. I had to always double up with other moisturizers just to keep my skin nourished. The nighttime lotion was basically the same story, only without the SPF. The only good side is that it did not completely destroy my face like ProActiv.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Wave™ (Power-Cleanser And Deep Clean Foaming Pads)
rated 5 of 5
ohmykaun 1/4/2009 3:35:00 AM

I bought this product while traveling, and let me just say that it is the BEST travel buddy EVER! First off--it works great! Just remember to put the pad on the WAVE with the crystals facing upward! After using it, my face always feels soft and smooth. It really gets deep down in my pores without tearing my skin. It does leave my face slightly dry, which is nothing a good moisturizer can't cure. Second--there is NO liquid involved! If you've been through TSA recently, you'll know that you can't bring more than 3 oz. of any liquid product through security check points. Most of the facial cleansers I use that work wonders come in bottles that are more than 3 oz. Also, any liquid in my bags really irk me because I constantly think they might open and go all over everything else in my bag. This? It's the best travel companion ever! You can bring it through TSA without fearing that it will be confiscated. Even if you don't travel, it's something that you can easily thrown in your purse for future use. I don't know about you, but I can NEVER stay overnight anywhere without having face wash. I always feel dirty at the end of the night if my face never gets cleaned. I'll pop this out if I unexpectedly stay at a friend's or I'll use it after leaving a bar filled with smoke. It's GREAT!

Cleansers -Desert Essence - Thoroughly Clean Face Wash with Organic Tea Tree Oil and Awapuhi
rated 2 of 5
ohmykaun 1/4/2009 3:25:00 AM

I bought this product on sale at Wild Oats. It was around $10 or so for a huge bottle. I still have half the bottle left, which is why I wouldn't buy it again. I've had it for over a year and have yet to go back to it. At first, I swore by this product. It cleaned my face extremely well, and left it feeling soft and smooth. After a couple of months of using it, my skin started going back to normal. Meaning, it started getting oily and acne-prone once again. So for the time that it DID work, it worked amazing. But once my skin got used to it, the product no longer worked on me. Also, people hated getting next to my face because of its horrid scent and the fact that it lingers long after you wash it away. It was also hard to use as a face wash because it was almost the same consistency as water.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Skin Appetit Detoxifying Nutri-Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
ohmykaun 1/4/2009 3:19:00 AM

I decided to change my facial cleanser up a bit seeing as how cheaper products weren't working well with my breakouts. After the first couple of uses, I started to notice that my skin was becoming extremely irritated. I had patches of red skin, where I'm guessing the product burned, and it caused my face to become extremely dry! I also noticed that I was starting to break out in hives, which is not unusual when I use a fragrant product daily, especially on my face. It was so depressing because I had spent around $14 on it, which is somewhat pricey for a face wash I purchased on a whim. I figured I'd reduce my use from every day to once every couple of days. Oh my gosh! I seriously realized how great this product is! Whenever I break out, this product helps clear my skin up in a matter of a day or two. I also noticed that a bunch of my blemishes have completely faded! I didn't even know this cleanser was supposed to do that! BUT IT DID! It's amazing and works wonders! For people who have REALLY sensitive skin, especially those who have allergic reactions to fragrant products, try this out! Use it once a week, and in no time, you'll see a difference! Don't use it every day like I initially did! It's not meant to be a daily facial cleanser for people like us! But trust me, it's worth your money!

Treatments -Bare Escentuals - Rare Minerals Blemish Therapy
rated 3 of 5
ohmykaun 1/3/2009 10:11:00 PM

I purchased this product at Sephora after my mom decided to whip out a brush and sample it on my face. I had broken out on one cheek, so she figured she'd give the product a shot on me! Although it didn't cover the breakout, it was effective at covering some blemishes along my chin. I decided to go ahead and purchase the product, and I'm glad I did. It works well as an on-the-spot treatment. It really does help dry out zits, especially those little buggers that just don't want to go away. The only thing that I really don't like is the scent. It smells like...wood? Rotting oranges? I really can't explain it.

Crème -Rimmel - cool matte mousse foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
ohmykaun 1/3/2009 9:52:00 PM

After reading reviews of this product, I decided to NOT use it as a foundation. Instead, I chose to use it as a concealer. Let me just say--this is the first product that has truly matched my skin tone! I've tried high-end foundations like MAC and NARS, as well as countless drugstore brands. None of them have matched my skin tone as perfectly as this! When I first purchased it, I DID use it as a foundation and it worked wonders! It didn't make my face oily or dry, but I chose not to continue using it as such since my skin is really sensitive and almost everything makes me break out. So I started to use it as a concealer instead, applying it only on areas that I really need it. OMG! It covers everything perfectly without looking blotchy or discolored. For the price and the quality, this product is a steal!

Fragrances -Burberry - Brit Sheer
rated 5 of 5
ohmykaun 1/3/2009 9:39:00 PM

This perfume is by far the best perfume I've ever purchased, and trust me, I have a HUGE collection! It's light, flowery, sheer, crisp, and very very clean. When I first sprayed it on myself, I continuously sniffed my wrists all night long. I even had people take a whiff of the fragrance. I decided to read reviews on it before purchasing it, and despite the fact that many people give it bad ratings, I decided I couldn't live another day without it. When it comes to perfumes, it's hard to trust ratings because different people like different scents. It's not even a matter of quality like makeup or brushes. It's all preference. My boyfriend HATES perfume and anything that smells, but he loves this scent just as much as I do. It's not too strong, and is very intimate.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Sephora Kabuki Brush
rated 1 of 5
ohmykaun 1/3/2009 9:22:00 PM

I treated myself to two Kabuki brushes for Christmas--one from Sephora and one from MAC. I've felt both before purchasing them, but wanted both of them in front of me at the same time to do a side-by-side comparison. The Sephora Kabuki brush was much rougher than MAC's and shed far more than my cat. When I initially felt the Sephora Kabuki brush, I could have sworn it felt soft, but upon second inspection, it felt more rough than cheap, drugstore brushes.

Makeup Brushes -Unlisted Brand - Posh- Travel Foundation Brush
rated 5 of 5
ohmykaun 1/3/2009 9:16:00 PM

I purchased this brush from KMart while on vacation after realizing I had left all my makeup brushes at home. I use Sephora's foundation brush, but this one beats it out of the water! It's really soft, especially for the price. I cleaned it five times, but it still feels brand new. It has never shed on me, even after I tried pulling off a bristle myself. I've always had a problem with Sephora brushes shedding, but this one is cheaper and seems to be a better quality. The brush looks glamorous with the red handle. It's also a convenient size to toss in my purse without sacrificing the actual brush size.
