Cleansers -Garnier - Radiance Renewer Cleansing Gelee
ohana6 4/15/2013 2:47:00 PM
I bought this on a whim, I was buying the Garnier SPF 28 moisturizer that helps with sun damage/spots and figured I'd get a cleanser too. I am 40, still get monthly breakouts, but am getting drier, quite a few skin issues :( I love this. It smells good, feels good, isn't drying, doesn't sting, itch, burn or do anything bad. I actually use a Scrublet from an old L'Oreal 360 cleanser to wash with this every AM and PM. Feels fantastic, really cleans out the pores. I see the foundation on the Scrublet so I know this cleanser is really cleaning everything off my face. I can see repurchasing this.
I'm with Ghoulina on this. I have Coral Ambition and it might as well be clear lip balm. The only place where color shows up is in any dry areas on my lips. Absolutely pointless. I am not interested in getting any other shades. Big disappointment.
Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer

I was in dire need of a primer. I was in a military exchange and they happened to have Too Faced products (I had no idea). The $15 price tag did make me put it back, think about it, go back and get it. And I am so glad I did. I have worn this under powder eyeshadows (Mary Kay, Cover Girl) and creme ones (the Maybelline Color Tattoos) with various eyeliners and I *love* it. I have oily eyelids and this just makes a world of difference. I use it everyday, I just dot a little on each lid, I do other stuff while I let it dry/set, then do my liner, shadow, clear mascara. My make is on for roughly 12 hours a day (7 am to 7 pm) and my eye make up looks great now. I wouldn't hesitate to spend the money again on another tube when this runs out.
My biggest complaint about liquid liner is, in trying to get it as close to the base of my lashes as possible, it ends up *in* my lashes, drying, giving me 5 big spider leg lashes - hate it ! This doesn't do that at all. I think the type of pen liner that it is, gives me better control. Also the pen isn't soaking wet with liner, it's just right. I use the side of the "pen" and make a line from inner lashes to outer. It's a nice steady line, as thick or thin as you want it. You can "draw" over the liner to get the thickness you want, or use a damp Q-tip to remove if you went too thick. I have the dark brown, and it's plenty dark, but doesn't look black (IMO). It removes very easily (I use Pond's pre-moistened wipes). I mostly wear this with a nude matte eyeshadow (Milani Almondine) and clear mascara (Cover Girl). It is *by far* my favorite liquid liner ! Edited 11/3/2012 - I recently took this out of my stash and liked it again, so much so I got it in Black, love it. Edited 1/13/2013 - Had to throw these away. I realized they were making my eyes water and sting by late afternoon. It really hurt.
Wanted to love it but couldn't. I don't color my hair, I just need shampoo to clean my hair, I don't need anything special. This broke my scalp out big time. My hair also didn't feel clean afterwards. Not impressed, and Garnier is a favorite hair care brand of mine.
Cleansers -AcneFree - 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser

My daughter and I use Walmart's Equate version of Proactiv (the 3 step system). The bottle of Acne Free cleanser is much bigger, and both are 2.5 % BP, so I thought we'd try it. Big mistake. This gave both of us terrible break outs. It's not as scrubby as the Equate, and it's more slimy and smells weird. A definite mistake.
I bought this for my daughter and myself. She plays sports and gets sweaty, plus is just a teenager. I get sweaty and I guess maybe hair conditioner breaks me out. After shampooing and conditioning, I put my hair up in a turban type towel and wash my chest, arms, back and neck with this. I like that it's clear and doesn't smell chemical/medicinal. It's much more effective for us than the yellow/gold Neutrogena body wash and the grapefruit one. I think we're on our 3rd or 4th bottles of this. Definitely a keeper.
Skincare - Face -Equate - Proactiv knock-off system

I bought this system for my daughter at first (she's 13). She loved Noxzema but it wasn't doing anything for her. I noticed a big improvement in her skin pretty quickly so I decided to use it on myself. At 38, I was tired of being so broken out. I love it ! This works wonders for both of us. And after switching around, using the 3 different steps of the system in various combinations, I need all 3 steps, and I do all 3 steps every morning and night. Step 1 is a cream cleanser that is slightly scrubby, it's not drying (I have dry skin, daughter has typical teen greasy skin). Step 2 is a toner, didn't think I needed it but I do. Doesn't sting, burn, itch, or dry me out. Step 3 is a very thin lotion, I think this is fabulous. I think this is what kills any pimples overnight. It was about $12 for a kit with all 3 products but I was *thrilled* to find you can buy the products separately as they run out at different times. My only complaint is the packaging, I guess this is what makes it so cheap compared to real Proactiv. The bottles are very hard plastic, it's hard to squeeze a good amount of the cleanser out, you're scared if you squeeze too hard, all the product will come out ! So I popped out the top, or you could transfer the cleanser to another bottle. That's really my only complaint. I think the amount of benzoyl peroxide (2.5%) is what works for us. I'm thrilled for both of us that I decided to try it.
Polishes -Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure- Gray by Gray
ohana6 10/24/2010 12:43:00 PM
Love the color, very unique in my collection. I've never gotten so many compliments on a nail polish color before. For that alone I love it. But I've tried it with various basecoats and it's Chip City on me, also on my daughter. So I'd either wear it for an occasion and put it on the night before, or wear it whenever and deal with the fact in a day or 2, it'll be chipped. I love the brush and the color. Price is high for a drugstore polish, and for the chipping problem. But the color is amazing.
Love it, HG TM finally. I do apply moisturizer (Aveeno calming) to a dry patch I have, then the TM. I don't find it greasy or heavy (like Hard Candy's TM). I do have a complaint, the smell, wow, it's really awful but it goes away quickly. And Aveeno pumps are weird, even with daily use, when I pump it, a yucky "plug" comes out fist, every time. I love the color match, medium. I really like it. It's a tad steep maybe at $14 but it's worth it to me.
Lip Gloss -Revlon - Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze in 512 Timeless Nude
ohana6 3/20/2010 7:43:00 PM
Love it also. It's a gorgeous, mod, sexy, go with anything pinky nude. The gloss itself is good, I can put it on over a lip balm and it stays. Pretty much goes with any eye or cheek color too. Love the smell, sweet, fruity, but not yucky. A definite go-to shade.
Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula
ohana6 2/28/2010 4:15:00 PM
I purchase this repeatedly. I have dry skin, that's getting drier the older I get. It just never fails me. I've recently moved and my face is really dry, so I apply it there too - no breakouts ! I could do without the cake icing smell, but it's just such a good product.
Blush -Revlon - Matte Powder Blush - 002 Blushing Berry
ohana6 2/22/2010 1:24:00 PM
Love it. Looking to build my everyday signature look, for which I'd like pink/natural cheeks. I have other pink blushes but they're too vibrant/clowny (lol) - or they didn't show up. This is perfect, I'm also thrilled for how pale/natural it is, it does show up (W5 in L'Oreal True Match). My only complaint, the packaging. I could do without the mirror and brush, and instead make the block of blush bigger. This a keeper for sure.
Conditioner -Aveeno - Nourish + Moisturize Conditioner
ohana6 8/1/2009 3:37:00 PM
I wrote a review for the matching shampoo - which I hated. But the conditioner, I like. I have bra strap length hair with long layers (and bangs). This conditions just fine, I also think it does not break me out. I switch products a lot, so hard to tell, but I don't seem to have issues when I use this conditioner. I did say good packaging, okay price, but would not repurchase, will probably go back to my HG Pantene conditioner (Smooth line).
Wow I am shocked at the 89% would repurchase rating. I hated this shampoo. It didn't clean my hair at all. It left it so greasy. My hair is not color treated, I have bangs, I only put product in the length. I use it on my sons who have buzzcuts. I do use the matching conditioner, it's fine. But this shampoo was disgusting. My neighbor bought it as she likes their skincare, she hated it too. The packaging was fine, the price was decent, but I would never repurchase.
