Bronzers -Stila - Stila Sun SPF 15 Bronzing Powder - Shade 02
ofpearlsandroses 9/15/2011 9:26:00 PM
I got this from Strawberrynet.com and it was like SG$22. It's in shade 02, which would be darker orange than shade 01. I really love this bronzing powder! It doesn't look too orange on my medium Asian skin (I'm using MAC NC25). This Bronzer also has an SPF 15 so it's good if U're out in the sun! I think it gives me a healthy glow! I would contour my face with this bronzer as well, like the sides of my nose to create depth. And physically, I also love its packaging! Stila creates lovely cover designs I must say.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Dame Edna Royal Tour MAC eyeshadow trio
ofpearlsandroses 9/14/2011 2:12:00 AM
I got this palette, among other items,as a gift from my bestfriend after my engagement. Well, what can I say? This has got to be one of the least favourite of my makeup collection. There are three colours - royal tour (s) (light pink), dame's desire (f) (light purple) and climate's blue (v)(dark purplish blue). I think the best among this lot is climate blue cos te colour payoff is good and it's really pretty. I have to rub a lot on my lids for the other two. You can wear climate blue with a softer colour - I used with MAC's gesso - to create a smoky look. It turned out quite nicely.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush in Coygirl
ofpearlsandroses 9/11/2011 9:22:00 PM
I have 2 sheertone blusters in Coygirl and in Gingerly. I love them both!!! Sheertone blushers do not seem what they look like on the pan! So don't be alarmed with this purple blusher - it actually looks great on medium skin tone like mine. One thing to note, since it's sheertone, the colour is buildable depending on how bright you want your blush to be! I think it is a Fall colour - great to be used with greens, navys, browns and purple if u like. I would apply this on my cheeks after contouring my face with Gingerly. As both of these are light, they mix well to give a glowing pinkish-apricot colour. Would suit very well with dark eyes and light mauve lips look.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush in Gingerly
ofpearlsandroses 9/11/2011 9:11:00 PM
I'm an NC25 and have medium Asian skin. I love MAC sheertones cos I love piling on makeup! Haha! So for this colour in Gingerly,it's orange-brown in colour which looks perfect on my skin as a bronzer. I apply on my forehead, lower cheeks, chin and especially especially importantly on both sides of the bridge of my nose to create depth. I love love love this colour for the effect it creates on the latter! I know most people would conour their noses with a brown matte shadow/brow liner but I prefer to use a blusher for that! And for my skintone,it's perfect! I don't look orange bcos of the brown tint that this blusher has. I'm finishing mine soon and would buy again in a heartbeat!

Lipstick -MAC - Matte - Honeylove
ofpearlsandroses 9/11/2011 8:16:00 PM
I have Asian skin and uses MAC NC25. I went to the store to look for a nude lipstick with pink undertones. I specifically ask for a matte formulation. And guess what??? The first lipstick that the counter lady offered was Honeylove! She swatched it on my hand and showed others but I already made up my mind to pursue Honeylove. What I love about this product is that the colour is just about nude when I'm fully made up. The pink undertones is pretty and can almost go with all the colours - black, browns, blues, greens, grays! What I would do is line my lips with a neutral lipliner (I'm using Elizabeth Arden),apply Honeylove and if I feel like it,swipe a coat of lipgloss over! Matte lipstick are drying but the reason why I got a matte formula is because I have oily t-zone. So I wouldn't want any shine on my lips as well, unless necessary. And that's when I would use lipgloss over my matte lipstick. I've finished one tube, and gonna repurchase another Honeylove soon!!!

Mascara -Estee Lauder - MagnaScopic Maximum Volume Mascara
ofpearlsandroses 9/4/2011 8:33:00 PM
I have short eyelashes and they are not eyen black enough. From afar,my eyes won't stand out although I do have a nice pair of almond shaped eyes. But with this mascara on, I can have curly, thick and black lashes that I require no falsies. Am happy! This is my favorite of all Estee Lauder's products. I swear, the best mascara ever!! (Wish the packaging is Not so "fat" and round. Kind of takes up space in my bag.)

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Lipstick - Stay Mauve (05)
ofpearlsandroses 9/4/2011 8:17:00 PM
I want a lipstick to match my raspberry bag(it looks like Barbie's pink lipstick) and chose Stay Mauve. And guess what? It does match and I felt like a doll instantly! This lipstick stains coffee cups like any other lipsticks. However,it redeems itself for the colour stays very long on my lips. I say,it's fantastic! Further,I feel that it plumps up my lips. I dont know how/why but it felt that way. Maybe the chemicals are acting up? Of cos at the end of the day, when my makeup is removed,my lips stay the same. I'd definitely get this in other colours although they don't come cheap (SG$34). But it's worth paying for bcos the colour payoff is VERY GOOD, it's long wearing (stains food/cups but your lips will still have the colour!!!) and it's Stay Mauve is a nice colour. LOVE LOVE LOVE this lipstick!!! Smells nice too, like all Estee Lauder's lipsticks (I think they smell of ripe plums).

Treatments -Lancome - Lancome Blanc Expert Neurowhite X3 Ultimate Whitening Hydrating Emulsion - Moist
ofpearlsandroses 9/4/2011 8:02:00 PM
Of all the Lancome whitening products that I have used, this is sort of a let down. Yes it's moisturizing but too moist for me. When wearing it alone,it feels like I have liquid on my face forever! I really prefer Lancome Blanc Expert Ultimate Whitening Hydrating Cream as opposed to this. However, when I use this emulsion with make up,it feels fine. I just have to remember not to use it a lot with makeup considering that I have oily t-zone. Piling on facial products will only make my visage oilier. Will not buy this again bcos I prefer the cream.

Pressed Powders -Lancome - Maqui blanc miracle
ofpearlsandroses 9/4/2011 7:43:00 PM
I've been using Lancome product over 8 years now and their compact powder/foundation is a must-have for me! For years I've been using Blanc Expert (used to be in blue casing) until they changed to white casing. I've got combination skin type and have very oily t-zone by lunch time. So far,Blanc Expert worked so well cos it minimized the oil on my face. Last year,I changed to Maquicake cos my skin condition improved and I needed lesser makeup. However, when I went to get another refill for my Maquicake, the counter lady informed me that both Maquicake and Blanc Expert had been discontinued and they have come up with a combination of these two products which is the Maqui Blanc Miracle! Honestly, for this price I expected more of this product (got it at SG$65). However, this foundation is light and covered well. I still have blemishes. Unless I wear a concealer (from MAC), the blemishes are still showing. The lady advised me O-03 for my skin tone. It says it has a staying power up to 12H. True enough,it does stay. I hold an office job,so it helps staying indoors. Although my t-zone tends to get oily, touching up with Maqui Blanc Miracle (patting motion and after tissue off oil) does not become cakey at all. Would buy this again cos whitening foundation powder will always be my favorite from Lancome!!!
