Nails -Sally Hansen - rose run

I brought this on a whim while at CVS. I was looking for a muted pink that would look good during the winter months because I was tired of my vampies. In the bottle it looked like a grandma mauve color but on the nail it's quite classy and subdued but not boring in my opinion. The color is a pinkish with slight magenta leanings but with enough grey to calm it down. I usually struggle with pink because of my skintone but I think this one is nuetral enough to work.

Nails -Unlisted Brand - masquerade ball
odessadaniel 1/8/2011 5:09:00 PM
I was on meek n milds blog and she was wearing Illamasqua's scarab and it looked gorgeous on her however I'm not willing to pay 14 dollars for a polish. While at CVS I picked up Masquerade Ball and I think it maybe a dupe for Scarab. The brush was ok a little thin and I used 3 coats and it was opaque to my taste. The color is is a deep scarlet color with burgandy/brown undertone and a touch of tasteful shimmer. The only difference between this and scarab is that scarab has more copper in it. Overall this is a great color perfect vamp for winter and it's not so dark it looks black which is a plus. This is what I wanted OPI's Royal Rajah Ruby to be.

Polishes -Essie - Smokin' Hot - Winter 2010

This color type greyed out purples seems to be everywhere. The color is a grey with some purple undertones it's a cream finish. I brought this not realizing I already owned it because I have Nina Never Glum Plum which is an inexpensive dupe. The formula was fine for me I used three coats because I had spots.

Nails -Revlon - revlon top speed nail enamel sugar plum
odessadaniel 1/3/2011 7:54:00 PM
This color reminds me of the sugar plum that came out with China Glazes 2010 Holiday collection but more bland and greyed out if that makes sense. The color is so flat it also is reminiscent of Meet Me on a Starferry from OPI Hong Kong collection which also fell flat and dull.

Nails -Revlon - Revlon Top SpeedNail Enamel Grape
odessadaniel 1/3/2011 7:47:00 PM
Grape is a cool purple with subtle shimmer very vibrant more so with a shiny top coat. This polish didn't peel in sheets the way Royal did but it showed tip wear within four hours so...

Polishes -Revlon - Top Speed Nail Enamel - Royal
odessadaniel 1/3/2011 7:36:00 PM
This polish is a beautiful rich royal blue polish it's great because it doesn't lean toward purple and its not so deep that it goes black but full on rich royal blue. I enjoyed this more than OPI's Dating a Royal which wasn't deep or vibrant enough it was to grey toned I think. This polish has one fatal flaw and that it chips and peels off in sheets. I think because it's a quick dry but im not sure. I used standard top coats like Seche Vite but with not luck so buy with caution.

Nails -Maybelline - ruby star
odessadaniel 1/3/2011 7:11:00 PM
This shade is apart of a limited edition collection I found at my local Walgreens. The shade is a rich ruby with the brown tone not being overly discernable brown undertones just out right ruby/wine. I also has a slight ruby shimmer that is brought out more with a shiny top coat. I brought this because I hated OPI's Royal Rajah Ruby because it became a muddy brown and I already have brown skin so it didn't look right. The application gave me no problems and the brush was fine. However this is a quick dry polish and these chip and will outright peel off quickly im talking a day at least. I paid darn 6 bucks for a drug story polish which is hideous and the fact that it peels off in sheets is off putting. However if you want a good burgnady/wine/ruby shade to wear to a special occasion this one is not bad.

Palettes -Kat Von D - Ludwig Palette
odessadaniel 1/3/2011 6:58:00 PM
This palette has beautiful colors until you try to appy them. These colors did not show up on me they were crumbly and did not last long. Also the colors are way to frosty they remind me of the Wet n Wild color icon palettes.

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Small Eye Shadow Brush
odessadaniel 1/3/2011 6:54:00 PM
I must be backwards because I gave my MAC brushes away because I never used them I always reached for my drugstore brushes seriously lol. This brush is perfect for depositing shadow especially when I'm using a shadow wet. I like that its firm and small because I have small almond shaped eyes and most brushes are to large or too fluffy and are not precise enought to maneuver with my small eyes.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Holiday 2010 LE Golden Goddess eyeshadow palette
odessadaniel 1/3/2011 6:16:00 PM
Once again these icon palettes miss the mark. With this one the glitter and lack of color rangel slayed me. First the texture is off the shadows are crumbly and the fall out was annoying so I used them wet. Next was the color combo not enough mid tone colors that I felt complimented my skintone. The two peach colors did not work and the last two were useless because they were to glittery and dark and ended up looking like a muddy glitterly mess when blended.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - ColorIcon Palette in Lust [DISCONTINUED]
odessadaniel 1/3/2011 6:13:00 PM
I have such a problem with these palettes because theirs not enough balance of pigmentation the first two colors are way to light on my NC50 skin tone, the middle two are no better then the final two at the bottom are to dark really dark. The colors are soft and they apply ok fallout doen't bother me because im not a huge foundation wearer. I want to love these palette like everyone else but I find myself having to use other colors from my stash to fill in for the missing midtone colors.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Soft Brown
odessadaniel 1/3/2011 6:05:00 PM
At first I hated this color because its not brown at all its peachy and I have dark NC50 complextion. However I watched a youtuber and she used it as a lid color with goldmine and handwritten and it looked great. Actually this is my everyday look minus the goldmine and plus swiss chocolate.

Blush -MAC - Satin Blush - Her Blooming Cheek (A Tartan Tale Holiday '10)
odessadaniel 1/3/2011 5:56:00 PM
I would buy this if it weren't limited edition and if I hadn't brought the last one at my only place to buy MAC Macys. The color is a cool bright pink so beautiful on my NC50 skintone. I love it because I only have to use a little and it shows up plenty.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush in Loverush
odessadaniel 1/3/2011 5:51:00 PM
Wow im a double minority im around NC50 and I like this blush. I use it sparingly and blend it out and it gives me a great flush of color and blends right in. I was apprehensive because its a purpley color and I believe WOC are beyond hideous purple blush but this works for me.

Makeup Brushes -Essence of Beauty - Crease
odessadaniel 1/3/2011 5:48:00 PM
I actually gave my MAC brushes and held on to these brushes because they worked better for my eyes. I don't have sensitive eyes so these brushes don't irritate my skin like it does others. I like the pointed shape and the size because I have small eyes and the brushes fit perfectly. Their also inexpensive enough to have more than one set.
