Ok so after months of wanting this, I finally caved. I secretly hoped I wouldn't like it so I could return it knowing I gave it the ol college try. Unfortunately I love this darned thing! I do not know what the magic is, but the curls stay. I mean stay. With no hairspray, 50% humidity and a 90 min workout, I still had curls at the end of the day. Unbelievable. It's also super quick to heat up and easy to use once you get in the swing of the wrapping thing. Oh and the curls/waves are super shiny and healthy looking too. Love love love! Definitely recommend. It's pricey, but worth it! For ref: I have long, processed hair. Normal to fine but a ton of it. It's naturally curly but oddly won't normally hold a curl from a "normal" iron or rollers for more than like 20 minutes.

Eye Shadow -NARS - All About Eve Duo

This has been my go to shadow for the last five years, which tells you how great it is. I wear it during the day and at night, changing up what I pair it with to get a less or more dramatic look. For instance, day time I'll put the right side on the inner third of my eye and the left side on the outer two thirds, swirl MAC's Quarry in the crease, dot a brown pencil on the outer two thirds of my lash line, black mascara and it's an easy, polished look. At night I'll do the same, but add a little carbon in the outer v, blend with the quarry, and instead of brown pencil use black liquid or cake liner. Either way, this duo provides a real polished, natural, but with oomph kind of look. Love it. And would definitely recommend it. Plus, I think it would work on a variety of skin tones, except for the really really cool-toned pale skinned maybe. For reference, I am naturally quite pale, but wear bronzer and darker foundation regularly to deepen my skin color. So the end result is that I am about an NC30 in MAC, 32 in MUFE F&B, La Mer Fluid Tint Medium.

Treatments -Kerastase - Masque Oleo-Relax

I wish I didn't like this conditioner as much as I do because it is expensive! I can use other conditioners and my hair is okay, but with this I have great hair. My hair is fine-medium texture, but I have a lot of it. It's is down to about my waist and has been colored/highlighted to within an inch of its life. This conditioner makes my hair silky and shiny like no other conditioner can. I recommend leaving it in overnight if you can. Love the smell too!

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Pro Skincare Brush

This tool has changed my skin. I had good skin until approximately 3 years ago, when my skin inexplicably became very tempermental and my struggles with acne began. For the past three years, I have tried a lot of different products/methods to get my skin under control: bp, salicylic acid, otc retinols, glycolic acid, yaz bc, minocycline, sulfacetamide, finacea, spiro, and I'm sure I am leaving a lot out. It has been very frustrating, as some things would seem to work for a time, only for me to find my acne return a week or two later. I had heard good things about Clarisonic and was spending a lot of money at the dermatologist, so I figured, why not? Well, that was three months ago and for the last three months I have been virtually free of breakouts. (If I had to guess I have had 4 pimples over the last three months...huge improvement.) On top of being pimple free, my skin has a better texture and tone and my acne marks are fading. I think my skin takes better to the moisturizers, etc. that I use. For full disclosure, I use Ziana almost every night, but I used it before Clarisonic to no avail. So, I think the Clarisonic is helping the Ziana work better. I also switched to Yasmin bc around the same time I began using the Clarisonic, so that might be helping as well. In short, I love my clarisonic. Feel it was totally worth the money. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a bit of a glow, to clear up acne, or to improve the tone or texture of their skin. I may be somewhat less enthusiastic about a recommendation to those with extremely sensitive skin. I truly think it is this tool that has saved my skin!
