Shampoo -Aussie - Moist Shampoo
rated 4 of 5

I'm reviewing the version from the UK containing macadamia nut oil. As I have an oily scalp and bleached hair, I tend to use this every other day, alternating with my clarifying shampoo to get rid of styling products. Smells wonderful, and does a good job with cleaning and balancing my hair. Doesn't over-moisturise or weigh it down.

Conditioner -Aussie - Moist Conditioner

I use this every other day on my hair which has been bleached several times over, and it's great: leaves my hair feeling silky soft and smooth. I have the version from the UK which is the one with macadamia nut oil. Smells lovely and you only need to use a little at a time. Just avoid using this on your scalp if it tends to get oily. Ironically they don't stock this brand in Australia, but I was fortunate to be able to buy a whole heap of shampoos and conditioners from this range while I was overseas.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Almond Oil Intensive Hand Rescue
rated 3 of 5

I use this on both my hands and feet. Smells absolutely divine, like marzipan! Has quite a nice fluffy texture too. I do find that it does leave a bit of an oily afterfeel, and it could be more moisturising.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder
rated 4 of 5
nyada 8/14/2006 7:48:00 PM

This pressed powder produces a lovely matt finish. I have pretty good skin so when I want to dress up I usually apply this on top of my concealer, and it looks great. Don't be put off by the light colour - you're only meant to use it sparingly. I find that powders in general tend to make my skin produce more oil though - but maybe it's just me. Overall a good product that's reasonably priced.

Lip Treatments -LUSH - Whipstick
rated 4 of 5

You have to try this lipbalm on your lips coz it smells completely different than when in the packaging. I reckon it smells like mocha in the packaging but smells absolutely AMAZING on your lips - like a jaffa (choc orange). Has great moisturising properties (sinks straight into your lips) and not too sticky. Also a little goes a long way. Overall a good buy!

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Creamed Almond and Coconut Smoothie soap
rated 2 of 5
nyada 8/14/2006 4:14:00 AM

I was really disappointed with this product. Maybe I had the wrong expectations - I expected it to lather and it doesn't. Also I'm not too fussed on the smell. I can imagine that this would be really good for people with sensitive skin as it's very gentle and moisturising. Hate the packaging - horrid to use in the shower as water keeps on getting in! Not a repurchase for me.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Skinny Dip
rated 4 of 5
nyada 8/14/2006 4:10:00 AM

This shower gel was runnier than I expected but still produces masses of bubbles, especially when used in conjunction with a shower pouf. Lovely smell - reminds me of a chai latte! I'm not sure about the moisturising properties - I always have to moisturise after my shower. Perfect for a cold winter's day.

Masks -Ahava - Purifying Mud Mask- Oily skin
rated 5 of 5
nyada 8/13/2006 11:03:00 PM

Being a bit of a skincare fanatic, I've used quite a few purifying masks, and I'd have to say that this would be the best mask I've used so far. It does a fantastic job at getting rid of all the impurities in my skin, but doesn't leave it feeling stripped or dry. In actual fact, my skin always feels FIRMER after every application! Definite repurchase!

Skincare - Body -Ahava - Dead Sea Mineral Mud
rated 4 of 5
nyada 8/13/2006 10:59:00 PM

This always brings a smile to my face whenever I use it because it reminds me of the time when I slathered myself with that black mud and then washed it off in the Dead Sea... Yes I have to agree, the packaging sucks (I ended up emptying the contents into another container for ease of use), and it does make a huge mess of your shower/bath. Leaves my skin feeling clean and smooth and firm - a definite repurchase.

Lip Gloss -MAC - lipgelee- lu-be-lu
rated 5 of 5
nyada 8/13/2006 10:53:00 PM

I reckon MAC Lipgelee is very underrated. I find it waay more caring (moisturising) and less sticky than Lipglass. I first tried this while in transit at the airport: my lips were really dry and I found that this did a great job at relieving my cracked lips. Comes in a lovely range of colours which all have a lovely shiny finish. Don't let the colours in the tube put you off (I know some of them look awfully bright). You have to be patient and try them on your lips. A friend and I tried them on and found that the same colours looked COMPLETELY different on our lips - and we've got roughly the same colouring! I ended up getting Lu-be-lu even though that was not the first shade I would have visually picked out for myself - but it looked the best on my lips. So give them a go!

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colourjuice - tubes
rated 3 of 5
nyada 8/13/2006 10:42:00 PM

These have more colour pigments than Lancome Juicy Tubes, but I find them a little bit too sticky and not very moisturising. They have a lovely fruity smell and are handy to carry around in your handbag if you ever want to add some colour to your face. Probably won't repurchase as I prefer something that's less sticky and more moisturising.

Cleansers -Garnier - Fresh Cleansing Gel
rated 3 of 5
nyada 8/13/2006 10:39:00 PM

This is an average foaming cleanser. It does a decent enough job of removing makeup/impurities and has a lovely fresh smell, but I find it a little slimey and difficult to wash off. Also, the packaging drives me nuts! What is it with the screw cap?!? You end up with half the cleanser leaking out if you don't replace it immediately - which can be a little tricky at times if you have cleanser on your hands. There are plenty of other cleansers out there on the market so I will not be repurchasing this.

Lotions/ Creams -Boots - Mediterranean Milk, Almond and Pistachio Body Butter
rated 5 of 5
nyada 8/13/2006 10:33:00 PM

I absolutely ADORE this! Every time I apply this body butter I feel that my skin is literally eating it! It absorbs easily with no oily afterfeel and leaves my skin smelling lovely and feeling soft & moisturised. I can understand why some people might not like the smell - however I'm a huge fan of things like marzipan so it smells like heaven to me! Would definitely repurchase it if I could (I bought a tub when I was living in the UK, but now I'm back in Oz I can't get it any more)... :(

Cleansers -Origins - Get Down [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
nyada 8/13/2006 10:29:00 PM

When I first purchased this cleanser, I was a little disappointed because for some reason I thought it was a foaming cleanser. This is NOT a foaming cleanser. It does however do a good job at removing 'gunk' that coats my face when I wake up in the morning. It rinses off easily and leaves my skin feeling clean and smooth; not tight or dry. I only use this in the morning because it's so easy & convenient to use, and because I prefer to use a foaming cleanser at the end of the day to remove dirt/makeup. Overall a good, economical cleanser which I will repurchase.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Flying Fox Shower Gel
rated 4 of 5

I found the jasmine in this to be a little overpowering at first, but I must say it's really grown on me! Mixed with the honey, it's a very sweet, intoxicating smell - positively addictive! I think it's an individual thing though: you either like it or hate it. It's a lot more runnier than I thought it would be, but a little goes a long way, especially if you use it with a shower sponge. Not too drying, but not super moisturising either. I've been using this every other day (alternating with Skinny Dip)...oh and I also love the way my bathroom smells after I've used it in the shower!
