Polishes -OPI - Monsooner or later
noradar 6/30/2008 7:50:00 AM
Big huge rave time. I have a massive OPI collection, but I haven't found a new heart-stopping holy grail since "Oh to be 25 Again" came out, but whomp, much to my surprise, here it is - ahhhh, at long last I'm in OPI love again. Monsooner is what I had wanted Tasmanian Devil to be, but Tas wasn't orange enough or special enough. Monsooner is the perfect, classic summer red cream that leans into orange, without actually being orange. A base coat, 2 color coats, finish off w/a glossy top coat and then prepare to be noticed - a couple of compliments I've received are, DD says I look like a haughty Parisian fashion model, and DH says I'm not allowed to leave the house while wearing it w/out him by my side - LOL! Yeah, it's most def one I'd run into a house fire to save. Several back up bottles will be required.......

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Color Surge Duo in Mochaberry
noradar 6/30/2008 7:17:00 AM
A holy grail eye color set for hazel eyes as it really brings out the green in mine - I honestly get compliments every time I wear it. It's not too pink, not too red, not too brown - it's just perfect. Received as a GWP, but I'm definitely buying another one for back up.

Cleansers -Basis - Sensitive Skin Bar
noradar 9/11/2007 7:45:00 AM
WOW! Who would have ever thought my holy grail face wash would end up being a cheap drug store bar soap! I've never before gotten such perfect results from any facial cleanser and I've tried all of the popular options from high end to low end; this bar works like magic! It cleans without stripping and it leaves my skin looking and feeling like baby skin; it's non-drying and I've had zero breakouts! Happy at last - I LOVE IT!

Polishes -OPI - Dont Melbourne The Toast
noradar 9/11/2007 7:26:00 AM
Finally a pinky-bronze polish that is flattering!! I have tried so many bronze shades in my quest for a girlie-girl pretty toned one but all have just made my nails look sickly and bad! Don't Melbourne the Toast doesn't apply too yellow or too brown; it's a beautiful, classy, slightly pinked-up bronze; I think it's perfect for fall pedicures. I'm off now to pick up a back up bottle - really love it! Edited to add - it dries to a very matte finish so you will need a glossy top coat to finish.

Polishes -OPI - Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It
noradar 6/2/2007 2:14:00 PM
I bought this polish hoping it would be a true orangish red, but on me it's just plain ol' red - it's a lovely shade of plain ol' red, but alas, I really wanted to see orange-red and that's not the case.

Polishes -OPI - Mrs O'Learys BBQ
noradar 11/28/2006 6:32:00 AM
BBQ is such a lovely muted, brown-based, reddish, plumwine shade - but imo, it's just not very lovely w/my skintone - for reference, I'm currently wearing 1 Warm in Aromaleigh Voile foundation. A base coat, 2 color coats, and a clear top coat gave me the same color that I see in the bottle. I guess I just prefer the clear, less muted shades like Marooned on the Mag Mile, 25 Again, Romeo and Joliet, etc. I gave it 5 lippies anyway because worn against the right skintone, I'm sure it's wonderful. Funny thing though - I wore it to a holiday gathering and I received 4 compliments on it (3 from women and 1 from a guy) - so I guess other people do like it on me.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
noradar 11/21/2006 11:58:00 PM
I finally found a Holy Grail facial moisturizer after years and years of searching high and low - this stuff truly has given me beautiful, "make-up optional skin". For me, HIJ is nothing short of a miracle product.

Cleansers -Burt's Bees - Wild Lettuce Complexion Soap
noradar 11/21/2006 11:51:00 PM
I hope this one never goes away - it's cheap, a bar lasts forever, it lathers up well and has a good, fresh, earthy, natural scent; it removes heavy m/u and it deep cleans w/out drying - I ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT!

Polishes -OPI - Marooned on the Magnificent Mile
noradar 11/21/2006 11:36:00 PM
Vintage class and elegance w/a little bit of dramatic vamp thrown in for good measure. This is one of OPI's finest offerings IMO and it's just perfect w/pale skin. Mag Mile is a deep, rich, saturated, true maroon. It's a smooth glossy cream w/out any shimmer or frost. And wears like iron. I will most def pick up a spare bottle; or two, or ten......

Polishes -OPI - Got the blues for red
noradar 11/4/2006 10:38:00 AM
A true old Hollywood, classic glamour-puss, leading lady red - it's not dark and brooding enough to be vampy - but it's not bright and flashy enough to be trashy - Got the Blues is simply a gorgeous, blue-based, deep, glossy cream, rich and classy, very lady-like red. It's definetly a powerful red, but it's still girly enough to be sweet and sexy. It's not a thick or hard to work w/formula - instead it's thin and applies like a dream. So beautiful on pale skin - I love it!

Polishes -OPI - Oh to be 25 Again
noradar 10/30/2006 10:33:00 PM
DING! DING! DING! We have a winner!!! IMO, this is the "must have" color for fall/winter 2006. It's the most gorgeous deep, rich, chocolate-cherry color you can imagine - it looks both vampish and classy at the same time on my filed short and rounded nails. Last winter we were all scrambling for OPI's "Lincoln Park After Dark" (a wicked-good shade of black plum) and this year I think the hot pick is going to be "25 Again".

Blush -Smashbox - Fusion Soft Lights - Guru
noradar 9/12/2006 1:26:00 PM
Guru is a drop-dead gorgeous, warm berry blusher. Sometimes if I'm in a hurry I just swirl all the colors together to get a beautiful warm berry glow for my cheeks. But I also appreciate the all-in-one-pan option of contouring-coloring-highlighting. I sculpt and contour my cheekbones w/the darker shades, then I add color using the center berry colors, and I finish off the look by using the lightest colors to highlight my cheekbones and the apples of my cheeks.

Highlighters -Smashbox - Soft Lights - Smashing Highlight
noradar 9/12/2006 1:13:00 PM
I REALLY LOVE this one! IMO, Highlight gives the most perfect peachy-pink glow - I only use it on the apples of my cheeks, not all over my face.

Polishes -OPI - Hopelessly in Love
noradar 8/3/2006 9:12:00 AM
A great, pale, milky-peach color. Hopelessly in Love is a soft, milky color like it's cousin's Bubble Bath (which is a milky cream color), and Sweetheart (which is a milky-pink color). If you're looking for a good basic soft shade of milky-peach, this is it.

Polishes -OPI - Got a Date To-Knight
noradar 6/15/2006 10:03:00 PM
From the 2006 Princess Collection, Got a Date To-Knight is the pale pink I've wanted OPI to make for years! IMO, it's just perfect! Got a Date To-Knight is what I had hoped Pinking of You would be, but wasn't. It's an opaque, soft, but clear, baby pink. I'm wearing two coats of GADT-K over one coat of Bubble Bath (I often use Bubble Bath as a base coat when I want a very clean looking nail base to apply my color choice on top of), and this combo just looks so soft and sexy w/a tan! I think (and I hope) this one will become an OPI classic!
