I was about to purchase Clinique's Iced Lotus but saw the NYX display across the isle. Natural and Iced Lotus are very similar except for the HUGE price difference. I don't need to spend 30 euros on a blush. Very natural, pretty color. I'm fair so this blush is plenty pigmented for me. In general I think the NYX line is worth checking out.
Lip Gloss -New York Color - Lippin' Large Lip Plumper- Plum Tart
nomadjan 3/8/2013 2:04:00 PM
Love this gloss! Beautiful color with staying power, delivers a good plump and dirt cheap! Forget the expensive high-end brands, this gloss is HG for me.
I was never able to apply gel eyeliner until I purchased the 231 brush. Amazing. Really. Now I can enjoy the staying power of gel eyeliner - a big deal if you have super oily eyelids like me. Along with the brush I bought a MAC Fluidline gel eyeliner and I'm 100% satisfied.
Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - 5 Colour Eyeshadow - Incognito 030
nomadjan 9/29/2012 11:22:00 AM
I finally hit the pan of my last Incognito and just repurchased today, despite the 50+ euro price tag. That speaks volumes. Absolutely beautiful neutral tones with a silky texture. HG.
Styling Products -Organix - Renewing Moroccan Argan Penetrating Oil
nomadjan 8/7/2012 2:49:00 PM
I don't have color-treated hair nor do I heat style, but my hair is coarse and gray. Therefore I expected this product (I bought the "extra strength" version) to do something, anything. Nada. Does absolutely nothing for my hair. Smells good, that's it. Happy I didn't fork out a lot for this. Will go back to using natural coconut oil found at the local health food store.
Sunscreen -La Roche Posay - Anthelios SPF 30 AC Fluid Extreme
nomadjan 7/2/2012 6:53:00 AM
I don't suffer from acne but sunscreen in general tends to make me break out and I absolutely HATE the greasy, shiny look of most sunscreen products....which is what led me to buy Anthelios AC. Man, so expensive for this little bottle of white, watery liquid. I've only used it a couple of times and that required applying it in natural light with a mirror to make sure I didn't have any white streaks left on my face. I now just use it for my nose....I can't imagine putting this stuff on my entire face.Too drying and makes my look like a pale zombie. Am back on the search for new sunscreen.
This mascara was recommended to me by the Clinique sales person who raved about the brush. Well, I spend more time combing out the clumps after application than I do actually applying it. What a pain. For 20+ Euros, not worth a repurchase.
Treatments (Eye) -Clarins - Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate
nomadjan 4/21/2012 3:17:00 PM
Mediocre product which is disappointing considering I paid over 60 euros for it. Will not repurchase.
Foundations -Yves Saint Laurent - Perfect Touch Radiant Brush Foundation
nomadjan 10/17/2009 3:51:00 AM
Like many, I don't like wearing foundation but as I get older, my skin really needs it. This product makes my skin glow and the color is a good match. However, for a luxury brand/ high price, what crappy packaging! The built-in brush doesn't come close to being a proper foundation brush and keeping it clean is a nightmare. I followed the advice of other reviewers and ended up taking a pair of scissors and chopped that hideous thing off. However, even with most of the brush gone, it's still hard to control how much product comes out (usually WAY too much) and what a mess. I woudn't care so much if I had bought some cheapo drug-store brand...but come on, this is YSL!! When I finish this bottle I will not repurchase.
I just purchased this eye shadow after reading all the fab reviews but honestly, I can't understand what all the excitement is about. I have to apply several layers before it evens out my slightly darker lid area. Not particulary pigminted and way too expensive for a basic ivory colored shadow. Seriously, doesn't just about every cosmetic line produce a shadow this color...for half the price?
Stupidly, I, too, bought this lip stain online without prior testing (LM products are unavailable where I live) because of the good reviews and my ongoing quest to find a great lip stain. However, very disappointed. I agree with others that the color is nice but it doesn't leave a long lasting stain and worse, it is sooo drying...and I don't have sensitive skin nor a problem with dry lips. And, such a hassle to apply. I think L'Oreal HIP Shine Struck Liquid Lipcolor, despite its goopy, messy, gross consistency, works great as a stain! I apply carefully, let it sit for a few minutes while I get ready to leave the house and then blot. Unlike LM lip stain, my lips never feel dry.
Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - DNAge Cell Renewal Anti-Age Body Care
nomadjan 12/27/2008 4:57:00 AM
This is a review for DNAge hand creme. The most expensive hand creme on my supermarket shelf (in Austria) and what a waste of money that purchase was. Ironically, no moisturizing properties which forces me to go hunting for some other hand creme to put on 10 minutes after applying the DNAge. I don't know, maybe the "anti-aging" benefits it claims to have should not be confused with what one would normally expect from a hand creme: skin that is soft and moisturized. Definitely will not buy again.
Eye Shadow -Revlon - Colorstay 12-Hour Eyeshadow Quad "In the Buff"
nomadjan 4/27/2008 5:07:00 AM
I have greenish eyes, auburn hair and fair skin. I find this eye shadow really perfect for daytime...at 45, less is more. Blends beautifully. Will definitely purpase again.
Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
nomadjan 9/17/2006 3:16:00 AM
I have combo-skin and after using this TM several times I'm covered with zits. Had to wear a powder just to control the glaring shine. Can't say anything about the coverage and at $40, WAY too expensive. Perhaps perfect for those with dry skin as I found it to be very moisturizing.
