Self Tanners -Jergens - Natural Glow
nmhidi 10/24/2012 1:07:00 AM
I like using Natural Glow on my arms and legs after I shower. It is light and doesn't leave a residue, which is great since I typically am rushing off to work after I shower. I consider myself to be pretty pale, and I always say this helps me to not be so "transparent" during the winter months when I am at my lightest haha. I use thicker and more moisturizing lotions before bed because I don't mind them being a little mroe greasy if I am going to be in the house.. so Natural Glow works great for the day time for me.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
nmhidi 10/24/2012 1:04:00 AM
Every time I buy an UD palette or something, and it comes with UDPP I always try it again.. but I just can't fall in love with this product, and I honestly don't understand the hype. I have normal-dry skin.. and I still feel like shadow doesn't last the work day when I use UDPP. Also, it is very sheer.. I wish it would be a little more opaque so it could even out the skin on the eyelid. I am loyal to MAC paint pots. To me, they get the job done and last all day. I always end up giving away UDPP samples to fellow swappers.

Treatments -Vaseline - Vaseline
nmhidi 10/24/2012 1:01:00 AM
So many uses for vaseline.. use it on your hairline before dying your hair to avoid staining the skin. I like to use it as an over-night moisturizing treatment on rough skin. If my heels start to toughen up.. I slather a good amount of vaseline on my feet and put socks on before bed- literally OVER NIGHT my feet are smooth again. In the winter I rub a little on my cuticles when my hands get dry. And, then I have a cold and my nose becomes chapped from 10 boxes of tissues, this helps to soothe my skin. Obviously vaseline is greasy, that is the only draw back. I typically only use it at night because of now greasy it is.. I need to shower it off in the morning after it has done its job.

Treatments -Blue Cross - Cuticle Remover
nmhidi 10/24/2012 12:55:00 AM
Blue Cross is very effective.. but I feel that it is a little harsh on the skin. you have to be careful about getting it on your fingers/finger tips because it starts to feel a bit like Krazy Glue on the skin. So it is very important that you use manicure tools and not your bare hands. Also, it is best to use this product over the sink or the tub.. because I have heard it can really do some damage to furniture.

Other -MAC - Back-2-MAC Recycling Program
nmhidi 10/24/2012 12:52:00 AM
LOVE BACK 2 MAC!! I have sensitive lips, but luckily I live near plenty of MAC pro stores... so I am VERY HAPPY that I get to B2M for eye shadows! (if you go to a department store MAC counter you can only swap out for a lip stick) And.. when you B2M for an eye shadow at a pro store, you get it in pan form... so you can just depot the shadow and BOOM! you're already on your way to having 5 more empties! Great program to take advantage of.. sometimes it takes me a few months to save up enough empties.. but these take up such little room that I don't mind keeping them around

Palettes -MAC - Pro Colour Palette/Small Eye Shadow
nmhidi 10/24/2012 12:48:00 AM
I remember many years ago buying my first MAC eyeshadow.. and then suddenly I had 15 or so pots floating around my makeup area.. so annoying! I love the small and large palettes because they help you stay organized.. you don't have to flip over 10 million little pots looking for the color you want. You can simply label your palettes and know exactly where to find every color in your collection. The small palettes are GREAT for vacations or over night trips.. I don't need more than 4 eye shadows if I am going away, its just a waste of space. I love the new small palettes because the see-through lid is great! Looks more expensive than the old version too. Also, pan versions of MAC eye shadows are cheaper! but don't worry.. its easy to depot your shadows from the pot and stick a magnet on the bottom.. they work just fine in the palette too!

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Deep Pore brush head
nmhidi 10/24/2012 12:42:00 AM
I got the Mia2 for Christmas from my SO- he got it from QVC and it came with a sensitive brush head and a deep poor brush head. For the first 2 months I was only using the sensitive brush head.. I loved how it made my skin feel and look.. except ever since puberty my skin breaks out a little on the chin 1 week before I get my period. On the 3rd month I decided to switch to the deep pore brush head 1.5 weeks before I was due to get my period.. I have seen SIGNIFICANTLY less breakouts because of this brush head!! It is the extra "oomph" my skin needs at that time of the month. Last month I decided to try the normal brush head.. instead of buying the sensitive one.. and I used it for a solid month. I like the normal brush head too.. but still around my period I broke out on my chin.. I will NEVER not switch out the brush heads at that time again. Works like a charm!

Shampoo -TRESemme - Fresh Start Dry Shampoo
nmhidi 3/6/2012 8:06:00 PM
This is by far the worst dry shampoo I have ever used. The smell is terrible. I used it a few times on 2nd day hair.. my hair takes a few days to get greasy... when I sprayed it on 2nd day hair, it looked like I hadn't washed my hair in a week. I even brushed it out, made sure I let it dry, I tried blow drying it after awhile with some mousse to give it some volume. It just did NOT work. Terrible. I am just glad I got it in the clearance bin at Publix... but now I know why it was there in the first place.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Idyllic
nmhidi 3/6/2012 7:05:00 PM
I took a gamble on buying this paint pot, normally it wouldn't really be my thing. But I love this! Idyllic is a really unique shade, its like a wine-burgandy-brown shimmer. It has a really smooth application, blends well. However, you don't want to get it anywhere that you don't want it to be, because you won't be able to fully blend it out. You will have to remove any excess or unwanted product with a Q-tip and makeup remover. Over all, great, fun product. Glad we're finally seeing some colored paint pots from MAC again.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Hyperviolet
nmhidi 3/6/2012 6:57:00 PM
I was so excited to finally see a dark, wearable purple paint pot from MAC. I got a great deal on this too, because I bought it when MAC was having a free over-night shipping promotion. This product blends well onto the eyelid, I apply it with my fingers and have no issues. It is very pigmented, you have to be very careful to put it only where you want it, otherwise you will have to wipe off the excess with a Q-tip and makeup remover. I love using this for a purple smokey eye. Nocturnelle is a great compliment to this paint pot. I am very happy I got my hands on this, since it was LE.

Misc Beauty Tools -MAC - Full lash curler
nmhidi 3/6/2012 6:42:00 PM
Great lash curler. I had always thought I wouldn't bother wasting money on a more expensive lash curler, I had been using drug store ones for years. My SO got this for me last year as a Christmas gift and I am so glad he did! There is a noticeable difference between this curler and drugstore curlers. This curler gets right up to the lash line without pinching my eyelid. I have had this curler for over a year and still have not had to use the replacement pad. I clean it once and a while with a coupon and some makeup remover, just to take off the shadow that has built up. Great buy!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Naked Lunch
nmhidi 3/6/2012 6:33:00 PM
I love Naked Lunch! I can't believe it took me so long to finally purchase it! This has become my HG shadow for low-makeup days, when I just wear MSFN, some blush, and I swipe Naked Lunch over the lid. This shadow is great for a more dramatic look too. I am NW15 and this looks like my natural skintone with a bit of shimmer. It is comparable to Brule, but not matte. The shadow lasts long, especially when I use it over a paint pot. I really love this shadow, I am very close to hitting pan and I have only had it for a few months! Great every-day neutral!

Blush -MAC - something special
nmhidi 3/6/2012 6:29:00 PM
I love this peachy creme blush! I REALLY love all MACs creme blushes. The color gives a beautiful, natural flush to my pale skin (nw15) and is very pigmented. The color can be easily built up, and easily sheered out with your fingers if you happen to apply too much product. I have this a 4 only because it can be tough to get on the brush when new, but once you use it for awhile, it says moist and picks up on the brush easily. When new, I have to "loosen" a bit by rubbing it with my fingers so the brush will be able to pick up the product. I highly recommend this blush :]

Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed Tarte Blush
nmhidi 3/6/2012 6:17:00 PM
WOW! Amazonian Clay blush truly lives up to the hype. I normally only wear pink powder blush, and deeper pink creme blushes.. this was my first brown blush. My mom suggested I buy it when we were in Sephora, she always wears this color blush. This blush is EXTREMELY pigmented. I am NW15 and I have to put very minimal on the brush, and be sure to tap off the excess. If I don't this blush will be way to dark on me, I could probably even use it as a bronzer. But when I tap the excess off the brush, the blush looks perfect on me! I really love it. It really lives up to its name, I can't believe how long the blush lasts. I have even laid down for a nap and not had to re-apply after having my head on the pillow. I highly recommend this blush! great buy. Will last me FOREVER since I have to use to little to get an amazing result.

Blush -MAC - Satin Blush - Well Dressed
nmhidi 3/6/2012 5:56:00 PM
I really love to wear this blush on my low-makeup days, when I only wear MSFN and some blush. I am NW15 and this is a nice, light bubble gum pink on my skin tone. Lasts for quite a long time. Pigmentation is nice, color can be built up easily. I don't know for sure, but this would probably not show up on darker skintones, as it can be a pretty sheer flush unless you build it up. Great for a natural look though.
