Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation

Bought this from Sephora during the VIB 20% off sale and..... disappointed. The color selection is good. I like that they have a wide range. I'm of olive, medium skinetone. I have some yellowness as opposed to cool neutral or warm tones. I got it in #123. MUFE did an OK job of matching it. However, the foundation gives my skin a yellowish, greyish cast that doesn't look healthy. Makes me look kind of sick. Also, what I didnt like about this foundation was that it sinks into my pores and lines (I'm 23..... so.... I dont have a whole lot of "lines" or wrinkles). It also made my combo skin look like a freaking Gulf oil spill by the end of the day, and the formula didnt last on my face. I like to test foundations without primers so that I can see how good they are and how they really perform and I must say I wasn't very happy with how the MUFE HD foundation performed. Especially considering the price tag which is pretty exorbitant. I dont mind shelling out my cash if the product is good but.... this wasn't impressive at all. It didnt seem/perform like a high end foundation. I have since tried out Urban Decay's Naked Skin foundation (shade 5) and so far I'm loving it. very light on the skin, airbrushed looking even when applied with fingers, built in primer, anti aging ingredients, illuminating, true color match. AND it's cheaper than this MUFE hd foundation, which doesnt contain any SPF, "good for skin" ingredients, primer, illuminator, nothing. So I switched. if the MUFE foundation left you disappointed, i recommend trying urban decay's naked foundation.
spider city bitch, spider spider city bitch. spider city bitch, spider spider city bitch. yep. those are some makeshift lyrics i made up about this mascara. formula is WAYYYY too waxy. beeswax is one of the main ingredients and it shows. makes lashes spidery, crunchy and fake looking......and this is after one coat. i did two just for shits and gigs because i knew i'd be returning it and it made it look AWFUL! i couldnt even keep this mascara for one whole day. back to the store it went. FYI i have very long, dark lashes. my concern is volume - and this said it would give volume and i bought it initially for the good reviews and the "natural" aspect (olive oil, etc). well....dont bother. didnt work for me!
Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy

I FREAKING LOVE THIS STUFF. NEVER DISCONTINUE IT!!!! my hair is in great condition as i dont color or heat style it, and i usually wash it every other day when i can. but i have always had more of an oily scalp naturally, but my ends have been on the drier side. this shamp cond combo is the best. seriously. and i have tried literally everything from high to low end
Conditioner -Aussie - Miracle Hair Insurance Leave in Conditioner

i like this for putting moisture in my hair and detangling, it works very well for those two purposes. makes my hair shiny and more manageable in the mornings (i shower before i go to bed). recommend it!! great price
3.5 stars......... i got this first as a trial sample and i loved it. i used total care. then i actually went out and bought fullsize s/c in the color damage line and it was........meh. i love the scent but it isnt super moisturizing or anything, but it doesnt make my hair greasy and i like that. by using this s/c combo, i can wash my hair every other day whch i like because it keeps it healthier (i love washing my hair everyday to keep fresh but its just too stripping). anyways ... im undecided if i would repurchase. its good but im not crazy about it.
Hair Color -L'Oreal - Healthy Look Creme Gloss Color

this is the only thing i use to color my hair. i like it because it isnt permanent, harsh and it looks natural. its easy to use and not too expensive. its also moisturizing. i use med golden brown and am happy with the color payoff. this is a good haircolor to use as a "treatment", bc its gentle and moisturizing. but i dont see it working for older people or those who need lots of gray coverage
Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Rose Lip Treatment SPF 15
nkar23 6/28/2012 11:55:00 AM
got it as a gift from sephora but i love it! i will not repurchase it bc it is extremely pricey but it was a great product to get for free. very moisturizing, creamy, great color. really moisturizing. i just wish it was a LOOOOTTT cheaper.
Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15

got this as a gift from sephora with the rose colored one. i love this product! it makes my lips so smooth and it has spf15. its sooooo expensive though, like almost 30 bucks for the fullsized tube so i doubt i would buy it because i find eos lipbalms to be a better product, more affordable, and organic. but i love the luxe feel of this product and the rose one. wish it was much much cheaper, then i may consider buying it.
Masks -Freeman - Dead Sea Minerals Facial Anti-Stress Mask
nkar23 6/28/2012 9:45:00 AM
love love love loooooooooooove freeman products. i first tried the avocado mask in the green tube and now i have tried this one and i love it! the full sized versions of these masks used to be available in walmart but now only the trial size/1 use versions are available. so i found this at CVS. not sure if walgreens has it. but probably. anyways, this sea salt mask really brightens my skin, makes it soft, refines pores, etc. Great high quality product for a cheap price. i used to use the aveda mask but its like $20+ per bottle and this is a much more affordable alternative. im very happy about this :)
this product is just OK. application is a pain in the a-- and the formula dries as a matte finish even when you apply topcoats. the color is kind of drab.......i would not buy it again, good thing i bought this a few years ago and its almost dried up. dont buy it!! overall im kind of sick of essies products because they are almost impossible to apply (and im very experienced with applying polishes) and their formulas don't dry very well. no thanks - i will stick with sally hansen brand or OPI or even something cheaper!
still one of the best deep conditiner products i have ever used. i continue to repurchase this and have in my shower arsenal because its a great product that does what it promises!! and easy on the wallet...
meh. the formula is too thick and its almost impossible to get right on your nails! always looks weird... and i am not a nail polish novice! what a shame, bc the color is great. essie needs a better brush for this formula. and its almost $8 even at walmart where its the cheapest!!! no thanks. i used to LOVE essie but i think its become really played out lately.
Misc Beauty Tools -Olay - Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System

like many of you, i bought this bc im too cheap to invest in the clairsonic (maybe someday!) i like the way this cleans my face, it feels like a deep clean afterward. i use cetaphil or blackhead clearing scrub with no problems. FYI i have combo skin. oily t-zone and dryish cheeks, upper lip, etc. but my skin is not sensitive. and i dont use the brush hard or abrasively. i apply a light hand and put it on the fastest setting while i manually circle the brush along my skin. works great. also, no matter your skin type, make sure to moisturize afterward!! overall i was happy with the price & happy w the performance. Edit---------- have been using it for about 2 weeks now and i.love.it. It makes my skin feel super super clean and has loosened all the crap in my huge blackheads (sry for the TMI but that should let you know it is effective!!) which i never thought was possible. srsly, i have had horrible huge blackheads/pores on my nose and some on my cheeks since forever. overall it has brightened my skintone immensely. for this reason i may never try the clairsonic. plus im a cheap grad student anyway. very very satisfied with this product!!!! (PS i bought the "knockoff" of the olay pro x from CVS. it is the cvs brand which is placed right next to the olay prox in the store. works just the same and is about 10 bucks cheaper making it about 19.99!!! go get you some!)
Treatments -TRESemme - Nourishing Rituals Rejuvenating Mud Masque
nkar23 6/21/2012 11:03:00 PM
i just used this product for the first time in the shower tonight and i have let my hair completely airdry and i must say it impressed me. has left my hair moisturized and soft. the ends of my hair are split and kinda brittle, but i have been growing it out of a long time and this product made them less noticable which is great!! overall im happy w the purchase, it isnt insanely priced like some other DS masks and it comes in a cute tub and is easy to work with. smells good too, if this continues working this well i will continue to repurchase! worth a try :)
Treatments -Unlisted Brand - One n' Only - Argan Oil Treatment
nkar23 6/21/2012 9:37:00 PM
if i could give this a 3.5 i would. its an ok product. it came with my curling iron along with a shampoo and conditioner set but normally i would not have purchased it. it makes my hair shinier and makes it smell good, maybe a little glossier than usual, but nothing amazing. when i run out, i wont be buying my own package.
