Nails -Unlisted Brand - Kiss Nail Dress

OMG. Stay away from these. They are such a pain!! I bought them thinking that they are like the Sally Hansen salon effects which are amazing. But I got bored with the patterns I already had and the Kiss nail dress stickers were cheaper at the store. NOW I know why!! First off they are literally plastic stickers, wtf. You have to cut them, exactly your nail shape before you try to stick them on your nail. I tried to do my toes and the excess would not file off.. Ughhhh took forever to finish!! Then when I had acceptable looking nails (really i was just sick and tired of these things) I applied topcoat to seal it just like I would with the Sally Hansen strips, it clumped up over the designs, didn't dry shiny at all. So bizarre. I sure learned my lesson..

Fragrances -Michael Kors - Michael

My favorite. Very pretty tropical floral smell..and sometimes I smell bananas or coconuts..idk. It's strong so I just do half a spritz in the bottom layer of my hair, near the nape of my neck. If I can smell it on myself I know I went way overboard. The bottle is ugly and hard to use but that won't stop me from buying more lol. I instantly feel happier and prettier when I wear this...& that's the point right?

Mascara -LORAC - Multiplex 3D Lashes Volumizing & Thickening Mascara
njr86 4/26/2013 9:40:00 PM
Holy crap!!!!! This is the best mascara i have ever used. Now I normally cannot stand the mascara wands w/the plastic bristles... One of my pet peeves lol. I also gave up on dept. store mascara a long time ago since it all seems the same to me. But this one works brilliantly. love the curved brush b/c it takes me forever to curl my lashes (very stubborn straight lashes) and this helps enhance the curl. 3D multiplex is very black, I'd say as black as diorshow blackout but kicks more ass, thicker fuller longer lashes, AND and has an easy to use, reasonable sized brush lol. I never would have tried this mascara if it wasn't included in the new private affair collection. This and the cream liner are already my new faves, worth the $38 purchase on their own (the eye shadows are fantastic for green eyes btw) Will def replace when I run out

No thanks. This is absolutely disgusting. It smells like incense, BAD ones, and kinda like my mom & dads duffel bags they would bring home from deployments, and shoe polish now that I think of it. Thank goodness i only have free samples, and no one hated me enough to give this as a gift.

Tinted Moisturizer -NARS - Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer
njr86 4/25/2013 2:08:00 PM
This runs dark. I am pretty fair but not porcelain, so I got Alaska which is way too dark/dries orange, more of a medium color. Finland is good for summer, still dries a tad bit too dark, I just make sure to blend more along my jawline. I want to get some color this summer anyway lol. I am a SAHM, so not looking for a professional look every day and this fast easy, nice looking foundation does the job for me. Dries a bit dewy so I use a little powder over it. Definitely more of a foundation or BB than a TM.

Lipstick -Clinique - Chubby Stick (all shades)
njr86 4/25/2013 12:17:00 PM
Very pretty MLBB shades (fuller fig & bountiful blush) can swipe on w/o a mirror. Not sticky or drying. Lil too waxy for me, I need lip balm under it. Would not pay full price but when Clinique or sephora has a sale i would probably try more colors. I like the crayon and the fact that they last longer than revlon version and don't make my lips peel (but revlon has better colors)

Treatments (Eye) -Origins - GinZing

Wow I am surprised at all the bad reviews! I love this. I got a sample with my sephora order and had to order a full size which I have never done before. My dark circles are hereditary, and nothing covers them. I don't even try to cover them anymore lol, but this does help some. Basically this works like those highlighting pens for your undereyes but is also moisturizing. I like it in the morning for an instant pick me up. I would use only this and mascara if I had no time for makeup (which is most if the time)

Fragrances -Stella McCartney - Stella- Eau de Parfum
njr86 4/23/2013 9:04:00 AM
I purchased the rollerball of this perfume at sephora. Impulse buy while waiting in line lol. Anyway I got home and when I applied it I did not smell anything but rubbing alcohol. I promptly put it back in it the box and in the bag with the receipt. I was so annoyed that I wasted $20(!!!!) on this weak watered down NON perfume. Anyway I forgot about it for a while and when I found it several months later I applied it again and it smelled like fresh cut roses. I was so happy. It is still a weak perfume but I like the rollerball so I can touch up whenever I feel like it. Maybe that's why there is a larger purse spray? cause there is no way this would last through an 8 hour work day, or even a trip to the store.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals in 1.2, fairly light
njr86 4/21/2013 9:48:00 AM
Ok I have been using this foundation for 7 or 8 years. It has been an HG product and I do not have many. I loved that it is a powder and sheer build-able coverage, so you don't have to worry about having an "exact" match... whose skin is all 1 color anyway? That being said, I just don't have time for this stuff anymore. It is messy and takes way to much time to swirl tap buff, layering it on just perfect, etc. I hardly wear makeup anymore because I just don't have time for this. Lately if i wear m/u i use Nars tinted moisturizer instead and a thin, quick layer of this, mostly to use it up. I might look into the new pressed powders but I am actually very happy with the TM.

Bath Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Epsom Salts
njr86 4/19/2013 9:32:00 AM
I have been doing biomed treatments on my 3 y/o with developmental delays & severe global apraxia, "autism". Basically the theory is detoxing with the sulfates in Epsom salts & the magnesium that is absorbed through the skin helps alleviate some autism.. (Whatever u wanna call it) symptoms. Not sure if it makes that much of an improvement on its own but its 2 bucks for a carton and perfectly safe to use so why not. Most people are deficient in magnesium anyway so I bathe all 3 of my kids with Epsom salts. I also make my husband a foot bath with these sometimes and his psoriasis always looks better afterwards.

Nails -Sally Hansen - Salon Effects in Kitty, Kitty
njr86 4/7/2013 6:00:00 PM
Okay... I really like these. I am a total klutz and I can't paint my nails to save my life. I used to just go to the salon but i really dont have time like that anymore. I picked these strips from the clearance section at target cause the kitty kitty pattern was just too cute. The technique took a couple tries to get used to but after that it was kinda easy to do, just time consuming. I swiped each nail w/acetone remover to prep and after centering the sticker i used the buffer side of the file to push all the edges down and underneath each nail. After the strips set for a few min, I topped with sally Hansen mega shine topcoat. I used one pkg on my first try (cut the strips in half) so now i have enough for another leopard mani or maybe i'll do my toes to match. Day 2 no chips or wear, just compliments on my cute nails :) AND I did it myself, in my PJs, in peace and quiet after my kids went to bed. Will update if removal process is worth mentioning lol.

The most perfect color ever...I love all of Essie's grey polishes.. Smokin hot, bobbing for baubles, chinchilly, etc.... This is the best one cuz it's slightly green and it has shimmer. Love it! Essie has been my go-to for manis for a while now!

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Smokey Eyes Tutorial
njr86 9/16/2012 6:39:00 AM
I have the kit with Celestine and the grey/purple (skyline...?). I don't use this as a kit that much at all, but the couple times I have I thought it was really pretty. It's not a kardashian 15-eyeshadows-blended-up-to-browbone-smokey eye, but it's fast and even a klutz like me can make it work... My husband gave me compliments last time I wore it (he doesn't care if I ever wear makeup). What I usually do on a daily basis though is use the fluffy end of the brush to do an all over wash of Celestine...pretty without even trying.

Gels/Soaps -Dr. Bronner's - Peppermint Castille Soap
njr86 8/15/2012 1:18:00 PM
This is great as a shower gel however, we have very hard water at our house so it's impossible to clean with this stuff. Tried mopping w/ it, making all purpose spray etc, and it leaves a film on the surfaces I used it on... (the spray is great at killing ants tho) Probably works much better with soft water. I use it in the shower and it's fabulous, nice lather, heavenly smell, and my skin is soft without lotion on (who wants to put that on when it's been 90-100 degrees everyday all summer). I have to be careful not to get it in my hair since I can't get it to rinse out. And have to use the magic eraser to scrub all the soap residue off the tiles and tub lol.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
njr86 8/12/2012 10:38:00 PM
Yuck I don't think I would put this on my face... it's super heavy. My husband uses this on his hands and feet, he has had awful psoriasis the past year or so. It helps him a lot especially when he's consistent with applying it. I've used it also as a body moisturizer and it works fine. Not a 5 star product but it gets the job done.. I think I will get Cerave cream for him when he's out of this and see if that works better.
