Treatments -Origins - A Perfect World

This is my personal staple from Origins, the White Tea Skin Guardian. It’s sort of a skin primer that can be used like a serum after you cleanse but before you put on your moisturizer. I love the texture of it while applying it on my skin – silky and smooth. And what I love more is how my face feels afterwards – soft, supple, and not greasy at all. The only complaint I have is that the skin guardian comes with a pretty hefty price tag ($32.50 – $49.50 US), but a little goes a long way so I think it’s completely worth it. I also love that it comes in a pump for easy use!

Moisturizers -Chanel - Hydramax + Moisture Boost Cream [DISCONTINUED]

This is definitely one that I'd recommend. My face feels softer, and doesn't make me greasy after a few hours - as some other heavier creams tend to do for me and, my makeup applies nicely on top of it. I couldn't believe how many compliments I've gotten on my skin lately and it makes me want to believe that this moisturizer is making the difference! The only annoying thing about it is that it comes in a jar, and not a pump. It's like we're living in the stone age!

Mascara -Clinique - high definition lashes
rated 4 of 5

The brush is a dual one – one side is for applying the color and then it has a comb to brush out your lashes so that you can create definition for each lash. I found that I didn’t need the comb side and was worried that it would affect the applicator side (not big enough, etc.) but it didn’t. I don’t know about you but I may not have been affected because I don’t have a lot of lashes to begin with. It defines nicely and does a great job with lengthening for me. I can wear it all day (I’m talking 12+ hours) and it doesn’t flake at all - woo hoo!!!

Fragrances -Vera Wang - Vera Wang
rated 4 of 5

Vera Wang Parfum is definitely a modern, sensual, and romantic scent - a classic without smelling like your grandmother's perfume. When I first put a couple of dabs of the parfum on my wrists and behind my earlobes, it reminded me of Lancôme's Trésor at first smell - very romantic with beautiful floral notes of gardenia and cala lily. I love this scent and a small little parfum bottle will last you forever!

Treatments -MD Skincare by Dr. Dennis Gross - Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel

Overall, I wasn’t too keen on this skincare regimen. Yes, the before and after photos on the website looks like you would get a positive result from regular use of this product. But for me, doing this on a daily basis is a lot to ask for. I’d rather spare my skin from the unpleasant stinging sensation everyday. And at $75 US for the month’s supply, I think I’ll stick to the Microdelivery Peel from Philosophy – a much gentler once a week regimen and a whole lot friendlier to the pocketbook.

Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Dermo-Expertise Revitalift Night Cream
rated 2 of 5

I wanted to start taking care of my neck and chest area so purchased the Advanced Revitalift Night Cream. It’s an unscented, thicker cream – and by unscented, we mean that doesn't smell like anything except that it smells heavily like a cream (not pleasant). The consistency is also really thick which I thought was be a good thing only it's not. It doesn't absorb into the skin, it just sort of sits on top of my skin leaving me feeling like I've been sweating in my sleep when I wake up. Definitely not good and I definitely won't be purchasing this again.

Mascara -Bobbi Brown - Everything Mascara
rated 3 of 5

I got to try a sample of this mascara and it really didn’t deliver “everything” for me. I have really short and thin lashes so I had high hopes. Unfortunately, my hopes came crashing when I applied the third coat on my lashes and it still only looked like I applied one coat of my current favorite, L’Oreal Original Voluminous Mascara. After a couple more days of testing out this Bobbi Brown best seller, I gave up. My lashes didn’t look very much longer and it definitely wasn’t giving me volume. I also noticed some flaking towards the end of the day so I said good-bye to the Everything Mascara.
