Eye Shadow -MAC - Go - Starflash Collection ] [DISCONTINUED]

I, too, got mine at a CCO for a major discount. I think the best way to describe this color is to call it "fools gold." It looks like the fake dark gold sparkles in the ocean water when the tide recedes (here in SoCal, anyway). It goes perfectly for a PPP with green eyes.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Gold Spill

I'm highly surprised that this gets such a bum rap here, because it's the bronzer I reach for most often over NARS Laguna and Stila. I use a kabuki and swirl, tap, buff off the excess glitter and it makes my PPP skin glow like a burnished statue with subtle bronze and peach-iridescent glow. I LOVE IT!

Highlighters -MAC - Beauty Powder Loose in Micro Pink
rated 5 of 5
nicmarie1983 3/20/2009 12:49:00 PM

Wow, I'm stunned this has been reviewed only one other time. I am lucky that my local MAC store at my local mall turned PRO about two years ago, because I've been reaping the rewards ever since! Ok, so: This is a soft pinkish and a teensy bit golden loose highlighting powder. It's milled ultra fine so you have to have a clean, fluffy brush to apply it evenly and whatnot. But it's just gorgeous on, gives a soft pink glow to the cheeks and face (for ref I'm a PPP with red undertones, green eyes, dark blonde hair). But let's put it this way: when your boyfriend says "wow, your skin looks just like a baby" you know it's a good product. When a guy notices, run, not walk, to buy a backup.

Holy Shiz. This is the perfect lipgloss color for me, a muted shimmering pale plummy warm peach and I just love the feel and look. Is fantastic with NARS creme blush in Guele de Nuit. I can't stop loving this. Can't.....Stop....Need...Help...

Lipstick -MAC - Vegas Volt
rated 5 of 5
nicmarie1983 12/27/2008 9:49:00 PM

I've never run through a lipstick, so I'm purchasing on the hypothesis that I will still want to wear opaque, neon tangerine lipstick when I'm in my 40's (which is when I hypothesize that I will need another tube of this stuff). Unlike some of MAC's matte lipsticks, this one glides on and doesn't feel like I have to 'force' it into my lips. Sometimes the lipsticks are impossible to work with, but not this one. I love the uniqueness of this color, and feel like it's worth the time investment (PPP, NW15-NW20 for ref) to make this color work with my cool toned, pale ass skin. I like pairing this with a blood orange creme blush (NARS cactus flower) and MAC glissade MSF to highlight with sushi flower e/s and violet pigment. It looks stunning!!!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Lovely Lily Pigment
rated 5 of 5
nicmarie1983 12/27/2008 6:09:00 PM

This is the only product I've ever used up a whole jar of. I am an NW15-20 for reference, and can use this as a highlighter, a blush, and an eyeshadow. I love this color, it's a very subtle lavender with pink opalescent shimmer and looks perfect on me. I cannot believe I paid so much for my Kitchmas after all that hype back in 04 and how much BETTER this is. This is what I wanted Kitchmas to be, and I love love love it. Hope that makes sense :)

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish - Glissade
rated 4 of 5
nicmarie1983 12/27/2008 5:56:00 PM

This color looks almost exactly like the pearlizer that came out in 2005 called Apres Peach, but this has a less metallic sheen. I am a PPP, NW15-20 for reference and I have been able to make this work for me. I wear a MAC foundation stick about 4 shades darker than my natural skintone as my 'bronzer' and then I tried lightly dusting this over the top and it looks gorgeous. Just a slight, golden peach glow. The glitters are a little annoying, but can be buffed off after the fact or beforehand if you tap the brush. I gave this only a 4 instead of 5 because I was hoping this would be the peach version of Stereo Rose MSF and it's not. It seems that all the MSF's have their own distinct texture, which is a little frustrating :X

Blush -NARS - Cream Blush in Turkish Red [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
nicmarie1983 12/22/2008 5:55:00 PM

NARS creme blushes get a big YAY from me. Turkish red is a deep, brick red in the pan but applied sheerly (and for me, a PPP NW15-20) that means barely swiping the tip of one finger in the blush and on my cheeks, looks absolutely like my natural blush color. I love it, the texture is fantastic and it lasts all day. I would repurchase, if I ever ran out, which is highly doubtful considering how a little goes a long way.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Deep Truth
rated 5 of 5
nicmarie1983 12/3/2008 3:53:00 PM

This is a gorgeous deep shimmery blue, like the ocean in spain at sunset. It's not your moms 80's shadow, this is ours and it's fierce. I say, wear it with gorgeous gold on the lid, bitter and electric eel and smoke out the outer v with deep truth and bring it up to the lid. There's a good tutorial a girl did from the maneesh aurora line. Would def. repurchase if I ever ran out of this. Enjoy!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Gold Stroke
rated 5 of 5
nicmarie1983 12/1/2008

picked this up at my CCO for $12 and it was well worth it. Beautiful deep crimson-tan color with a slight golden undertone. Don't know why this got such a low rating, because I find that this makes a great monocromatic look, it can be used on lips, cheeks (with serenely blush) and eyes for a very mod and striking look. Suitable for night time only, of course, but I used the black red pigment reflects and WOW! This looked amazing. Even my guy friend commented on how I looked like a model from a photoshoot with this on. I mixed a violet tint in my foundation and strobe creme to get that porcelain look, though. But this is worth the investment, even for a green eyed PPP.

Blush -MAC - Beauty Powder Blush in Serenely
rated 5 of 5
nicmarie1983 11/30/2008 11:56:00 PM

I got this at my CCO for like, $10 and it is so worth it. I'm a PPP, green eyes and dark blonde hair for ref. and I can definitely make this work for me. It can look ruddy if applied to heavily, but this is a great shimmery maroon blush that looks like you're a little sunburned and a little windswept when applied. I love to pair this with gold strike pigment, but if you didn't have that one (it's LE) improper copper with mulch or shale and trax would work well with this. Plums, golds, and bronzey browns pair amazing with this. Great find!

Bronzers -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish - So Ceylon [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
nicmarie1983 11/26/2008 4:49:00 PM

I.don't.think.so. Not worth the money, and doesn't work on a PPP without some serious blending and mixing. The color isn't that unique either, and it's way too metallic. Definitely accentuates my pores, which aren't that big a problem.. BOO HISS MAC! UPDATE 1-09******** Ok, I got this as a gift and this one has way more rose and less of that muddy bronze color. And I'm in love, it looks like I've been playing in the sun all day. I LOVE THIS!!!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Wondershine 3D Glass
rated 3 of 5
nicmarie1983 11/24/2008 8:20:00 PM

WTF MAC! This is supposed to be 3D, but no. Liars you guys are. This is nothing all that special, thinner formula and the color is a golden coral red. Boo, I was hoping for great things from this lip glass.

Eye Shadow -Make Up For Ever - Diamond Powder
rated 5 of 5
nicmarie1983 11/23/2008 10:33:00 PM

Holy F**K BALLS! These are amazing. But MAC's are only slightly inferior (not as finely milled, don't tend to 'stick' to lids as well) but you get 10X the product for half the price. But the color selection is pretty good and these are a must have, at least in a pink/silver color and a bronze color for special occasions. Just simply stunning. Don't look like 15 year old glitter whore chunks either. LOVE!

Highlighters -MAC - Fairylite Pigment - Hollidazzle 2003
rated 4 of 5
nicmarie1983 11/23/2008 12:42:00 AM

I don't find much use for this product in the daytime, but it's beautiful when sprinkled in your powder for a night look or even as a wash on lids (although it is a bit glittery.) I don't see any purple or pink in this, just a nude beige with silver glitter. Still, very pretty. I will continue to repurchase because a little goes a long way when mixed in with my translucent set powder and gives a glowy look without being too obvious.
