I got this as a freebie after purchasing the Essential C Toner and the T-zone gel from Murad. I have oily skin and large pores on my nose and thought I would try it as I got it free and see how it goes. Initially after using a cotton pad to just clean the nose area, it does feel like it stripped all the clogged pores and made it cleaner. However, if I use it to wipe my cheeks area, it caused my skin to hurt abit and later became flaky. It was way too harsh even for my oily skin which usually is not sensitive to products. Also it causes my skin to become more oiler after using it, which is a no no for me. Also I find the alcohol smell too strong for my liking. Lastly, the bottle top should have a smaller mouth or opening so not all the liquid comes out at once, which is such wastage. I have to dip the cotton pad into the opening instead of pouring it out.
This product doesn't work for me. It smudges just an hour after use and doesn't tightline well with the 3 points. The color is not intense at all.
Eyeliner -Laura Mercier - Tightline Cake Eye Liner in Black Ebony

Unfortunately this product smudges after a few hours. If it hadn't I would surely purchase again. It does create a dark intense color between my eyelashes which liquid eyeliners and Too Faced 3 Way Liner couldn't achieve. I really loved the look after using it but just not happy that it smudges. Some other reviewers says it doesn't smudge for them, even though I used a primer too, it didn't help much. I even bought the activator thinking that it would help with the staying power instead of using just water.
Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - EXTRA VIRGIN Coconut Oil (All brands)
nicholee 1/3/2013 10:42:00 PM
After reading the amazing things coconut oil does for one's hair, skin and health, I had to try it. I am really amazed at the anti bacterial properties coconut oils has that I was so excited I had to post my review today haha. I tried it on last night as a makeup remover and it was sooo good, easily takes off all the make up in one go and does not sting like other brand name removers. The best part is it doesn't hurt your eyelashes when rubbing, I read that it helps nourishes your lashes too. After that I use a cleanser to wash it all off. What was amazing was the whitehead I had on my face for many weeks, suddenly dried out after just using coconut oil as a make up remover. I could see the difference just minutes after using it. Then I used the coconut oil as a moisturizer for my skin at night and when I woke up this morning, the whitehead completely dried out. Totally unbelievable as it really beats using those acne creams which doesn't do any good and waste of money. I read many reviews saying that the oil makes the face break out, but it doesn't for me. I woke up with glowing soft to the touch skin. Not tired looking skin! I rub a little bit on my fingers to warm it first. A little bit goes a long way. Do choose cold pressed or virgin coconut oil only. I've tried using it as oil pulling (where you swirl the oil in your mouth for 10-15 minutes which helps removes toxins) this morning and will continue to do so. I will also use it to coat my dry hair which has gone through so much chemical processing lol. I will update after I have tried it. So in conclusions, I really recommend anyone who hasn't at least tried coconut oil, it's really good and so natural. I used to buy all those expensive facial creams but coming back to nature feels so good.
Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
nicholee 12/12/2012 11:55:00 PM
I just bought this brush and want to tell everyone that it's really an amazing tool to create an airbrushed and polished look to your face. I couldn't believe the difference this stipple brush makes to creating flawless looking skin. Previously I would use my fingers, flat brush or sponge to put on foundation which wouldn't create the same airbrushed effect at all. It is expensive but so worth it! However, if anyone is not sure how to use it properly, they should read the online tutorials on how to use the brush correctly. You are supposed to gently stipple and not brushing it rigorously to get the right effect.
Deodorants -L'Occitane - Purifying Roll-On Deodorant

This is the BEST deo I have ever used! I am so happy to have finally found a product that obviously works! I have spent so much money on a lot of useless deodorants that does not do its job. This product really stopped any odor from occuring and I feel fresh and dry the whole day (I am living in a country that has hot weather year round)...it is so unbelievable!! I don't have to worry about getting sweaty and the odor that comes with it. The downside is it's expensive, but I am willing to pay for something this good. I am telling everyone I know about this, it's too good to keep it to myself :) I hope they continue making it, otherwise, I wouldn't know what to do.
I bought this after reading a lot of recommendations about how good it is etc. But I am not sure what all the hype is. I found it to be very dissapointing. First it's just a lot of petrolectum (is it similar to petroleum jelly??). It glides smoothly and does make my lips feel moisturized...but only for a while. Then it feels dry again. It later leaves a whitish film (i think dead skin) around the corners of my lips. I have to retouch quite a few times during the cold season. Will certainly not buy it again. But if you read the front of the balm it says "Temporarily protects". So you can't really expect much.
Treatments -Estee Lauder - Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher
nicholee 10/21/2007 11:57:00 AM
I first got a sampler and tried it for 2 weeks and really felt a difference to my skin! My skin became more even and the small pores are slowly fading away. Unbelievable but it actually works. I have bought a whole new bottle and have been using for a month. Absolutely makes my skin smoother and I notice that it helps my zits go away faster than usual (sloughs away any dry flakes etc). I am using it with the Micro D Scrub which is great as it really sloughs away the dead cells and cleans up my pores (especially around the sides of my nose). I have oily skin so the scrub is actually not harsh to my skin. This Refinisher is the first facial cream product that I can really see the difference. I absolutely recommend it!!
This product worked well on me. Helped reduce the pimples and dries them quickly. Overall the pimple goes away in a day or two and doesn't leave any scarring. The applicator is useful although the product can dry up easily. I tried adding water into it which creates the same consistency.
Treatments (Eye) -Christian Dior - Capture R60/80 Wrinkle Eye Creme
nicholee 9/16/2007 4:47:00 AM
I gave this product a try after reading the reviews from readers that it helps to reduce fine lines under eyes. However, it did not do anything for me. I am in my early 30's with a fine line under each eye. It did not do much to diminish the dark circles under my eyes which i get once in a while. I am still in search for another eye cream that may help smoothen the lines.
Mascara -Estee Lauder - MagnaScopic Maximum Volume Mascara
nicholee 9/16/2007 4:27:00 AM
This is the best mascara ever! I have bought and tried many but had to stop using it after the first try because it smudged and made me have raccoon eyes (even though it was the waterproof kind). I have oily skin. The MagnaScopic that I am using is not waterproof and it does not smudge for the whole day. Unbelievable!! It's not irritating to the eyes (as i wear contact lens) and easy to remove with a make up remover. It really thickens my lashes. It may clump at times but i just use the applicator or use another lash comb to separate my lashes.
Moisturizers -La Mer - Creme de la mer moisturizer
nicholee 9/16/2007 3:26:00 AM
I notice that when i apply Creme de La Mer onto my face in the morning it enhances the makeup I put on. The foundation and face powder stays on longer and the outcome is a smooth & flawless finish. As for the eye cream, I did not feel it did much to smoothen or lessen the lines.
