Gels/Soaps -Live Clean - (Fresh Water) Moisturizing Body Wash
new2makeup123 1/19/2013 6:47:00 PM
This is so amazing, seriously! Pros: - smells delicious, kind of sweet and lightly fruity but not overpowering or synthetic at all! Maybe like white gummy bears kind of? If anyone knows of a perfume that smells like this please let me know! - super moisturizing: my dry skin feels baby soft after this - doesn't irritate my sensitive skin in the slightest - has calmed my dry patches and is helping to add moisture and eliminate the mild back acne I get in the winter - inexpensive - No sodium laurel sulfate Cons: None! I'm officially switching to this from the JASON body wash I was using before! Everyone should try this out because it's amazing :)

Treatments -Elizabeth Arden - Ceramide Gold Ultra Restorative Capsules
new2makeup123 12/6/2012 1:36:00 AM
Amazing product. I'm only 16 but I have very problematic skin in terms of sensitivity and frustrating switches from dry patches to oily patches. My mom got a sample with about 8 of these a while ago and gave them to me because she's not really into beauty/skincare products and these are such a miracle worker when my skin is acting up. One capsule lasts me a good 4-5 uses and I only need to open a new capsule every few weeks to regenerate it and bring amazing hydration and smoothness while feeling so light and never breaking me out! This serum even slightly decreases the few pimples I may have :) I'm down to my last capsule after having rediscovered this sample (I've had it over a year) and I will definitely be picking up a full size that is likely to last me 3 or more years at the rate I use these. 100% recommend, even for younger skin :)

Polishes -China Glaze - Poetic
new2makeup123 10/6/2012 2:43:00 PM
This is a really lovely metallic rose gold nail polish :) It is very opaque and applies evenly without brushstroking in 2 coats and no pooling or blotching issues! I'm loving it paired with OPI's Every Month is Oktoberfest (a vampy shimmering plum).

Polishes -OPI - Every Month Is Oktoberfest
new2makeup123 10/6/2012 2:41:00 PM
Wow, this is really a stunner on the nails! Every Month is Oktoberfest is from the limited edition fall 2012 Germany collection and is a very dark, vampy blackened purple with beautiful red shimmer. It completely glows on the nails, especially with a glossy topcoat, and I can't wait to wear it a ton this fall and winter! Right now I have it on my nails with China Glaze Poetic (a rose gold) as a half-moon dot design :) It covers perfectly in two coats and applies very evenly with no blotching or pooling. The only con to this for me is the super wide brush (on all OPI polishes) is a bit wide on my nail beds so I have to do some clean up afterwards.

Mascara -New York Color - Instant Lash Mascara
new2makeup123 9/30/2012 1:43:00 PM
I am constantly amazed by how products so cheap can work so well.. This may not be the most volumizing mascara, but for only 1.77 CAD it defines, lengthens, and holds a curl beautifully with absolutely no smudges or flakes. My previous favourite had been l'oreal voluminous but I had to finall accept that it smudged on me when my skunk became more oily but I can put this on my lower lashes with no problems. It comes in a Long blue tube and a very long , thin comb-like wand which grabs the lashes amazingly. Looks great on its own and layered on top of a volumizer, plus it's easy to remove (a huge factor for me because i don't want my mascara damaging my lashes)

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Walking on Eggshells
new2makeup123 9/30/2012 1:36:00 PM
WOW. These eyeshadows are so soft, pigmented and really beautiful shades. You get a super reflective whte gold and light peachy-pink along with a shimmery warm brown. The texture on all three is very soft but a tad crumbly if you aren't gentle with your brush so make sure to tap it off to avoid fallout. Shockingly, these actually lasted longer before creasing than my urban decay shadows (both over udpp)! My favourite way to wear this is with the peach all over the lid, the lightest shade in the inner corner and right in the center of the lid, Bronzer in the crease, and a matte highlight (foxy) on the browbone. Packiging kind of sucks but for 2.77 I'd definitely repurchase :)

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm
new2makeup123 9/8/2012 3:31:00 PM
Overall, I do like this product but it's not perfect. First of all the colours I have are Grape Vine (sheer glossy purple) and Peach Kiss (sheer slightly dryer nude-peach with subtle shimmer). Grape Vine I like a lot: flattering slight berry hint and smooth application with a glossy texture, pretty moisturizing. I haven't had as much luck with the Peach kiss which can cling to and accentuate flakes on my lips. The packaging is adorable and they are fairly moisturizing although I don't think they necessarily deserve all of the hype especially considering the 5$ CAD pricetag. I would like to try the Cherry (red) and Pink Punch (pink) colours but I will wait to find them on sale.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
new2makeup123 8/6/2012 3:19:00 PM
Absolutely amazing, point blank. I purchased this in December and can say that it truly does live up to all of the hype. I don't have naked one, but I chose this one instead because it had more colours on the lighter end of the scheme. All of the eyeshadows are super soft and pigmented, just like butter, my favorites being foxy, half baked, Bootycall, tease, and verve. It is great to experiment with different neutral looks and I also love the included brush and gloss. This palette is perfect for beginners and I highly recommend it :)

Lip Treatments -MAC - Tendertones [DISCONTINUED]
new2makeup123 8/6/2012 3:16:00 PM
I have this in purring, a sheer orange-coral shade. At first this looked more orange but as I've gone deeper in the pot it appears more coral. This on it's own gives my lips a soft healthy appearance with a peachy tint and some shine. It smells and tastes delicious, like strawberry-kiwi! I would happily repurchase or try other shades even though they are pretty pricy. This is the product you want on your lips when a guy kisses you haha ;)

Blush -MAC - Blushcreme - Posey
new2makeup123 8/6/2012 3:13:00 PM
I love posey! For started, I own the cremeblend blush formula which is the newer formula, not the blush creme. I would describe the colour as a deep warm pink (some people say coral or hot pink but it is definitely not either one) that is very flattering on my fair warm skin. It gives me a natural flushed look that perfectly matches my natural blush colour if I apply a small amount. The consistency is fairly thick and easily blend able without being sticky or tacky like stila convertible colour. I like to apply it using a flat foundation brush or small synthetic brush (real techniques contour brush) and patting with my fingers to blend or just using my fingers. Packaging is sleek and classy looking although I accidentally dropped it once and the plastic popped out of the top and I had to pop it back in resulting in some minor dings/scratches. It can get a bit messy in the container as well but that's not a big deal to me. This is a holy grail blush for me, so natural and the slight dewiness of the cream makes my skin look so fresh, I would repurchase if I run out although I haven't made much of a dent even with almost daily use for about 9 months.

Concealers -Maybelline - Dream Lumi Touch
new2makeup123 8/6/2012 2:22:00 PM
I do really like this concealer but it has a few minor issues. I have this in the shade ivory which is a good match for my fair, nc15-20 skin but right now I have a bit of a tan so I will be picking up the next colour soon. The concealer is very brightening, blends well, covers well... I use this under my eyes in combo with the garner tinted eye roller and at the sides of my nose to cover redness. My only complaints are with packaging and lasting power. I don't mind the click pen, I find it quite handy, but I hate how the writing all rubs off the package after a few months :( also the lasting power is good but not amazing, could be better. Will continue to purchase as it isn't perfect but the best I've tried so far and very brightening :) Edit: picked this up in nude and it's a perfect colour for my skintone now :) will continue to mix the two colours as my tan fades!

Blush -MAC - Immortal Flower
new2makeup123 5/5/2012 1:27:00 PM
Overall I really like this blush but I do have a few things I would change therefore I took off one lippy. In the store, the blush that I swatched had a very soft texture that came off easily on my finger but my own pot has a slightly harder texture that doesn't swatch well on a finger but I have figured out how to apply it so it comes out better on the cheek. What I do is take a small dense synthetic brush and press it into the colour using a dabbing motion and then I pat it onto my cheeks and blend in small circles to get the desired amount of colour. As for shade, I ADORE the colour. It's a light but still bright peach colour, very unique and pretty for spring and it looks fabulous on my fair warm toned skin (about nc15). It can be built up a bit, but not a lot, so I don't recommend for darker skin tones, but the colour is so unique that I would repurchase if I ran out and it wasn't limited edition.

Pressed Powders -TheBalm - Sexy Mama
new2makeup123 4/22/2012 8:51:00 PM
I can't believe I haven't written a review for this yet! I've had this powder close to a year now and while I've definitely made a dent, I haven't hit pan even with everyday use and a few touchups. I have fair, dry, sensitive skin but no acne (just mild redness), although my skin can look a little shiny on occasion despite its dryness. I don't wear foundation, just a bit of highlighting concealer around my nose, chin, and under eyes, and this is perfect to set the concealer and give a soft matte glowy look to my skin. I don't look shiny ever with this on but it doesn't give a flat look, more like a soft velvety diffused look. It does a great job at blurring pores and giving an even look to the skin without looking cakey (even after multiple touchups!) and I don't feel the need to reapply it during the day :) One light application with a buffing brush in the morning and I am good to go :) Packing is so cute with the retro vibe and since it's truly translucent, it gives no white cast in photos. Here's to flawless skin with TheBalm's Sexy Mama! **I will most likely repurchase if I can find it as I bought it on sale when thebalm was being cleared from my local drugstore. I kind of want to try Mac MSFN so I may not repurchase but it definitely is worth it :)

Lips -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Red Velvet
new2makeup123 4/22/2012 8:42:00 PM
I have to say that overall I really do like this lip butter! I am quite fair with warm undertones (about NC15), but I have dark hair, brown eyes, and quite pigmented lips so I find that light lipsticks wash me out and brighter/darker ones suit me a lot better. I always though that a bright "cherry" red would suit me the best, but after trying this lip product I think that the slighter darker brick red-violet shade is a lot softer and a great red on my skintone! I have super dry flaky lips, so exfoliating and lip balm are musts, but this lip butter definitely doesn't further dry my lips and it applies with a lot of slip and glossiness (I personally like this). Due to the texture, if you want to apply this for full intensity I would recommend using a lip brush, but my favourite way to wear it is to apply to the outer parts of my lips and blend with my finger, leaving the center blank, and then apply a light pink gloss in the center. it looks so pretty and really enhances the fullness of my lips! The packaging pretty good, my only quip would be that the product can get a little messy on the sides of the tube and it is easy to dent with the cap but be careful and you shouldn't have problems. Wear time isn't super long, only a couple of hours, but it fades evenly (no lipstick ring effect) and wearing it over lip liner will help plus it isn't drying so reapplication isn't a problem. I will most likely repurchase if I run out :)

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Brush Collection Core Collection
new2makeup123 3/23/2012 11:47:00 PM
I really do love this brush set! I am a total makeup newbie with basically no brushes and I find this set to be full of high quality brushes that I use on a regular basis. It includes: 1. The Pointed Foundation Brush - I use this brush to apply concealer around my nose, under my eyes, on my chin, basically just to spread it out rather than to blend. 2. The Buffing Brush - I then take this brush and use it to buff and blend the concealer in, it works amazingly and gives a flawless finish. I also use this brush to apply my translucent powder (pressed) and buff that into my skin. It also works great to buff in too heavy blush or bronzer :) 3. The Contour Brush - I don't contour, but I really love using this brush with a touch of cream highlighter down my cheekbones and to apply and blend cream blush. It is the perfect size for a smaller face! 4. The Concealer/Detail Brush - I don't actually use this for concealer as I try to avoid placing concealer on any blemishes as to not clog them, but it makes a fantastic lip brush with brighter or darker colours :) I love this set and I need to make a trip back down to the States to try a few more of their brushes!
