Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer
neveranaddict 1/23/2013 10:48:00 AM
I have this product in NW 15 and I must say it is the first product that is fair enough and covers blue undereye circles without being yellowish, nor too pink, so it blends really well with fair skin. I find it very easy to blend (unlike the other reviewers, so maybe I got a lucky lot? hard to explain or maybe I just match with color really well so it disappears easily) and it's thin enough not to look on skin as an extra layer. HOWEVER I must warn against using this on naturally dry skin or skin that has been dried by anti-acne treatments, and also moisturize well on normal skin as well, as it does have a tendency to create little flakes on dry spots. This concealer has 0 hydrating properties, so moisturize well before using it. Covering power is very good for the way it blends into the skin, can also be used with a brush for sheer-er layer where you don't needs as much. I rated it 5 because it matched my needs so well however it is not a 5-star product in general, for all people - for dry skin it will definitely not work well at all.

Treatments -Sebastian - Hydre Deep Moisturizing Treatment
neveranaddict 8/3/2012 5:48:00 PM
This has to be first product that answers my curly/dry hair needs of moisture in summer. Along with its shampoo it left my hair looking and feeling hydrated (not even kerastasse can do this in summer, probably because most moisturizing products are full on protein while this one does contain hydrolized wheat protein (medium concentration) but also... hydration as in water! my hair is thristy!!). Smell is expensive sweet salon product smell (no other way to describe it). Product is yellow, the tube is very precise, consistency thick-creamy-gel.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector for Combination to Oily Skin - Light
neveranaddict 8/3/2012 5:26:00 PM
This is definitely best tinted moisturizer for oily/combo skin I have used. The shade is yellow fair, so when I applied it with a makeup brush the finish was definitely too yellowish for my fair cool toned skin [true that the coverage was also MEDIUM unlike the original Garnier BB Cream that will never get you coverage higher than light]. If you have fair yellow skin this is perfect even for higher coverage, if not I found that applying it with my fingers gave a very uniform true to my skin color finish (hence I gave it a 5 in the end even though I did have my time of thinking why have I bought this??). Finish is definitely matte and it does control oil as good as some more expensive HE brands too, maybe even better (I am only combo). Does conceal enlarged pores, and does give your skin that mattish inner glow most combo girls are looking for. If color is a problem then maybe a cool toned powder on top will fix it. For the price of it it's definitely a great product. Does not look cakey on top nose (problems with the T zone) and evens out mild discolorations too. It's VERY liquid-ey so do use a mild hand a small amount of product to tap gently and spread. I gave packaging a 3 because for its consistency a tube is not the most convenient packaging. I also have the normal Garnier BB Cream, that one is a lot darker in light/medium than Garnier BB for Oily/Combo in Light. As a shade comparison maybe NC10? But like I said if you are good at using your fingers in a light layer this will impress you, with a foundation brush this will like the wrong color for you.

Concealers -Maybelline - Dream Lumi Touch
neveranaddict 5/2/2012 11:24:00 AM
This is a not so good copy of L'Oreal Lumi Touch which is superior in terms of coverage, color options, and last but not least the original thing. I would compare the L'Oreal version to the HE sisters - MisterLight (Givenchy), Touche Eclat (YSL) - but the Maybelline simply does not compare. I rated 1 for packaging because they even copied the name of the entire L'Oreal Lumi line.

Styling Products -L'Oreal - techni.art Hot Style Iron Finish
neveranaddict 10/24/2011 9:31:00 AM
This is the only product that feels like it protects my hair against heat and hydrates it. I prefer it to Kerastase's Ciment Thermique since it leaves hair much softer. I use it before blowdrying and I only use the iron just to fix certain strands since it helps straightening the hair from the dryer too, also allows me to give shape to my hair without weighing it down. Lasts a really long time and it works. Also has a nice smell which is also discrete enough.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint
neveranaddict 8/5/2011 5:57:00 AM
This does last as long as they say however the application is described all wrong by those Benefit muas. If you draw or dab anything directly from the bottle to the face it will stain and uniformizing those stain is impossible not even with another powder blush in a similar color. The only way I found I can apply this is put the product on the back of my hand and then apply it with my foundation brush where I want to. I find the entire innovative packaging gimmick a failure and the color it's just good for outdated flushed look (think Heidi after she ran so much in the woods). Will not repurchase as it is nothing special in result.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
neveranaddict 8/4/2011 11:53:00 AM
I agree with Meluah who agreed with Eternityintherain, this is did not work for me at all (I tried it from the palettes). First I think it blends awkwardly because no matter how careful I am eyeshadow looks patchy (eyeshadows that look perfect with Too Faced's Shadow Insurance blended carelessly) and for their own shadows (Urban Decay) I find that they last longer without the primer than with it. Which is weird because if all else fails it should work at least w/ products from the same brand. No. I would never advise anyone to buy especially against Too Faced Shadow Insurance that for me lasted (used daily) for more than one year (very little does it's job perfectly).

Loose Powders -NYX - NYX Loose Powder
neveranaddict 8/1/2011 11:07:00 AM
I use this in shade 006 Transparent - it looks beige in the jar but on face is transparent. This is a very fine mattifying powder great for summer. Probably on normal weather you would want something not so mattifying, but in summer it's great. This shade works with a variety of foundation colors, because it does not change the color despite what you see in the jar. This does the job better than many more expensive compact powders I own, (HE brands) and keeps the makeup in place on warm days. Does not set into any large pore or fine lines, but if your skin is dry it may be a bit drying. A little goes a long way. I really enjoy this product, and cannot believe it has not been reviewed here yet. There is 0 shimmer or sparkle in it.

Treatments -Shiseido - Multi-treatment Hair Lotion Natural Spray
neveranaddict 7/29/2011 4:53:00 PM
This product does what it says - helps hair get smooth when blowdried, adds volume and shine and since it does get soft it definitely protects it too. However I took one lippie off because it should say on the packaging more specifically how it's meant to be used. It does mention it helps with blow drying, if you spray it and don't blow dry - air dry or use ironing tools - hair will feel dry. I think it is obviously heat activated product, and most of them deliver all the promise only if you use them under blow dryer heat. Out of all volumizing sprays I used on my damp hair after my leave-in treatment (my hair is dry and needs it) it's definitely the only one that adds shine and volume and softness. It's quite expensive, I got a sample size to try from Sephora, it lasted a while and after being unimpressed by it for airdrying and then iron styling, I really love it for blow drying. I will purchase full size for sure.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
neveranaddict 7/27/2011 6:59:00 AM
I remember my 1st Maybelline mascara was that pink/green bottle one all Vogues across the planet raved about. I could never understand why - it clumped, smelled strongly and irritated my eyes, and would flake after a couple of hours. So I reluctantly bought this but I am happy I did. I have normal length lashes that curl mostly under any mascara so I cannot comment on its capacities of holding a curl (I never use a curler) but I can say that this mascara makes my lashes stay curled, higher than other DS mascaras I tried. If I wiggle the wand it can clump but if I use as it obviously is intended to be used (wand is almost flat on one side so you can push it in to the roots and then twist it upwards, a lot like Bourjois's Clubbing mascara, but more easy to use than the Bourjois one because the Falsies' wand is also curved) it really makes my lashes look great. I love the wand, it does not flake out, and it does not smell at all (may have perfume in it, but it doesn't smell that you can sense) I can push it very close to my roots and it does not irritate my eyes at all. Only one complaint - I wished the formula was even blacker, since this one is black just not that jet black super black kind of black if you know what I mean. It works for me and it does volumize and does not flake on me (use it for lower lashes). Great for daily use especially for the price. I like that itsfluid enough, not dry, and after using it I have experienced zero lash fallout that some mascara may cause on me (like Benefit Bad Gal). For me all the tricks in it (the wand) work and I congrat Maybelline on actually improving from their so famous but so crapy pink/green stuff I never understood or liked.

Palettes -Shiseido - Silky Eye Shadow Quad: Lunar Phases (Q9)
neveranaddict 7/22/2011 11:31:00 AM
This is the only HE eyeshadow quad that gives that extrasomething you'd expect from the name. The shadows are very soft don't dry out the skin, with a primer they can last all day as applied even in extreme heat! (thing that does not happen with Dior e/s, that outer V if you make one sort of blends into allinone with primer too). Aplicators very useful, one has a little brush soft and sort of fluffy but also flat that can help create the smoky look undereye as well. I got this on sale and while the sale lasts I think I will try more of these quads as I don't regret spending the money on it as I did with other HE e/s that had nothing all that special. The light colors can help add some light for matter eyeshadows as well, as a base. However if your skin is quite pigmented you might like other Shiseido quad (like Earth and Sky), not Lunar phases as it basically consists in one soft black, and three very light soft colors that might not show up on darker skintones.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
neveranaddict 7/14/2011 10:46:00 AM
After all the reviews on this (over 1,000!!!!:D) I feel like I should say something synthetic about it. COLORWISE: For those who don't have the eye shadows needed to create the brown version of the smokey eye look you can get all this with this and you will not feel like you miss anything else to create it. If you are already packed on brown quads and eyeshadows this will probably be just okay or not much. The black is nothing special, just a plain black, not as intense as Too Faced's black from their Naked Palette, and Gunmetal it's just a decent grey. It's good, just not an unusual color. Stray Dog it's a very impressive dark cold brown, I am also impressed by Sin and the Gold shade which is shiny without being too glittery. The colors are very intense. QUALITYWISE: The shadows are very good, in my opinion clearly some of best. They are the first one not to crease or fade away on me without a primer (better than the Dior I have for example). There is only one too glittery eyeshadow out of all of them which is okay considering palettes. Comparison with other naked palettes: I think the success of this is because it offers a good range of shadows for a warm smoky look, the shadows are so pigmented that it does not result in the Catwalks trend - naked look. The Too Faced one is closer to a naked look, colors being more sheer and sometimes downright too sheer (the mattes from the palette) but the UD one is more useful if you're not that crazy about a naked look in the first place (unless your skintone is darker and than this may result in a naked look).

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - The Feminine Palette
neveranaddict 7/14/2011 10:10:00 AM
This is a good palette but I expected a palette than offers a useful pink color and highlighter for softer smoky eye looks. But the offered pink is way too glittery to be used for a soft day look, and Midnight Cowboy as well which leaves you with 4 out of all 6 colors to build that feminine look. The turquoise is very nice and I love it a lot, same goes for the two browns, very pigmented and smooth, and a nice matte purple color which is nice too. But I feel like this palette really needed a pink shade in the texture of the other 4 usable colors and looses a lot by lacking it. The eye pencil is very good and I love it, very smooth. It's not the most intense black but it's still very good because of its soft texture. The primer is okay, it works (preventing crease) but it's not as good as Too Faced's SI imho. All in all I don't regret buying this on sale but I will not buy it again and I should warn people not to expect a soft pink look to be possible with this palette which to me was essential for that feminine look........

Toners -Givenchy - Toner for Very Dry/Sensitive/Tired skin
neveranaddict 7/14/2011 9:26:00 AM
This is mis-named here on MUA, it is actually a toner and a lotion 2 in 1 and it's not specifically for dry skin but for sensitive skin. I love this toner! I got this as a coupon from Sephora and it worked great on my combination oily skin. It really makes all skin care products sink better, closes my pores and on summer days, for my oily areas, it provides just enough moisture to skip extra moisturizer and apply sunscreen. A Sephora SA named it a "mattifying toner" and said it is recommended for combination skin. I wish more people with this type of skin knew that as I find it way better than other toners for combination skin that do not work as well as this one. Needless to say, it does not clog pores or break me out, and after using this instead of other type of toners that say mattify but don't I would even say it made my skin clearer (not that I am acne prone, but I am sensitive and get blemishes really fast). On the bottle it says it is a lotion and a toner all in one so I do recommend it for summer days for girls with combination skin who just don't know what to do anymore to keep the skin hydrated but not oily. If you do use a moisturizer over it it takes a much less amount of it to spread it all over your face and neck and the skin just feels so soft. I never thought I will ever find a HG product and this is the first product I can name it so. I would give it a 6. Will definitely repurchase it and also will also buy Clean Me Tender.

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Idole silky mat
neveranaddict 7/13/2011 11:01:00 AM
How do I rate this? I am not sure if this does promise to be more mattifying than Teint Idole Ultra, so i can't deduce points from it based on this. However previous reviews match my case (combination oily in summer) - this is not mattifyinfg! Less mattifying than Teint Idole Ultra and for misterious reason Idole Ultra in a darker shade (025) looks better on me (like I am tanned) than this in what seemed like a better shade (010) - yes it's lighter but it's definitely on the yellow side of light. If you are pink toned and fair this cannot match you. If you seek an oil control formula seek elsewhere. I bought this because it was on sale at Marionaud. And this is how it remains, the foundation I bought because it was on sale. It's okay, does not break me out, it's easy to blend but I will not repurchase this at full price. (yes on back of my hand looked better than on face). And the packaging is not amazing either. For its liquid state it definitely should have come in a bottle, with and even without pump. It's very liquidy. This will probably be amazing if you are yellow toned and normal skin type. I think silky may imply that it's actually more silkier and less matte than Idole Ultra which is matte. Neither of them lasts 16 or 18 hrs as they say on combination skin (heehee did anyone expect this ?)
