Hair Color -Garnier - Herbashine

I used this product 3 times. The first time I got it in Dark Natural Brown. My hair was completely virgin hair that had never been dyed. I had a medium ashy brown with some which looked a bit orangey in the sun. I dyed my hair and I noticed it looked very dark (almost black) and it had a reddish tint in the light which I didn't really liked. The next 2 times I bought it in black. The black color was nice. My hair had a faint smell of bleach afterwards even though it's a semi permanent dye. The reason I give this a 1 is because this dye makes your hair fall, and I mean a lot. Since it's the first dye I ever used, I thought it was normal to lose a lot of hair. But I looked up reviews on this and a lot of people were saying the same thing. I was losing clumps of 20+ strands while washing this stuff out. I have since tried a new dye and have found that this is not normal, especially since we're talking about a dye that isn't supposed to have bleach. Please, spare your hair from the loss. Do not buy this product.

Blush -E.L.F. - Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder

This product sucks. Both colors are soo chalky! I'm NC20 and the bronzer looks ok in the bathroom but when I see myself in natural lightening I literally am in shock at how orange this looks, even though it looks brown in the pan. It never blends either, it looks like i swiped it on and left my house. The blush is average but again very chalky and does not blend. I didn't wear it long enough to see if it would break me out. Wouldn't recommend for anyone

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Lotion

Sadly, this did not work for me. CVS was having a sale in the travel aisle and I got a mini bottle of the Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion for $.99. I have super sensitive skin, and after reading the ingredients and seeing macadamia nut oil, I was super wary about trying it out. But I did anyway. I wore it for one night out and when I came home I immediately saw that this clogged my pores. I got raised bumps, some red and some flesh colored. This is something that happens to me often when I try a new product. I am sad because I really wanted this to work, as I am fond of the Gentle Skin Cleanser. The Moisturizing Cream also broke me out in the same clogged pores. If you want to try this, see if you can get the travel size on sale, it's way cheaper.

Liquid -Maybelline - SuperStay Makeup - New Version
rated 3 of 5

Yet another foundation that breaks me out. Mind you I have VERY sensitive skin. I'm still on the search for something that won't break me out. Anyway, this foundation was very nice looking. I have dry skin but somehow it made me look more dewy in the light by the end of the day. So if you have oily skin i'm not sure if you'd like this although perhaps you could just set it with powder (which i dont because powders break me out like no tomorrow). I will say it does oxidize slightly on me but it wasn't anything major. The makeup in the bottle looks slightly paler and more yellow, but when you pour it out it looks darker with a peachy undertone (I'm NC20, I bought Sand Beige). Wish it could have worked for me but unfortunately it did not. It will be going back.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser

I have very sensitive skin with eczema. My face has had an eczema break out for about 3 months. Anybody with eczema knows how much of a toll that can take on your self esteem. My face itched and burned. The only thing that would help me were those evil topical steroids, but even that I would have to apply once a week to keep my face clear. And those creams are not supposed to be applied on the face. I was so upset. I googled like crazy and found that many people with eczema use cetaphil. I've concluded that cetaphil is amazing. This is the only thing that has cleared my eczema breakouts effectively. Occasionally my face gets irritated so when I go home, I wash my face with cetaphil and literally within the hour my face no longer itches, is alot less red, and the bumps have lowered significantly. It is amazing. Pros: No scent does not foam does amazing things for eczema price is great didnt break me out cons: i hate the consistency. it feels like slime. i don't think i'll ever get used to it it seems like this is just me, but this stuff dries my face like no tomorrow. especially if I use too much. a good moisturizer is essential with this, for me. I made the mistake of rubbing my face with this while it was dry once. Wet your face first before you rub this in, because for some reason using it on a dry face makes it peel and crack terribly. It should also be noted this won't remove makeup. I'd suggest getting some makeup wipes (if anyone wants a recommendation I'd suggest Costco Kirkland makeup wipes, $12 for 150 wipes that never irritated my skin) to use before hand, then wash with this cetaphil gentle cleanser. Good luck to all you eczema ladies!

Misc Beauty Tools -beautyblender - the sponge
rated 1 of 5

Okay, I was very excited to try this out. I wanted it for so long because i love wedges to apply makeup but I hate the fact that they have edges. So, I bought 2 of these. When I applied my makeup, it was fast and the wetness made my face look glowly. Awesome. However, I found that by the end of the day my skin looks worse then it did that morning, like irritated red spots. And I hadn't changed anything in my routine, except for adding this sponge. I noticed this happen on the days I used this. I believe the culprit lies on the pink dye on the BB. Everytime I wet it, the water runs pink. I really don't like the fact that pink stuff is getting on my face, and as a person with sensitive skin it obviously is becoming a problem. Loved the application but will not buy again. Back to cosmetic wedges.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Kirkland Daily Facial Cleansing Towelettes

I absolutely love these wipes. I have sensitive, eczema skin so I have to be very careful about what goes on my face. Here is how I use these: -rub EL creme cleanser all over face -use these wipes to remove the cleanser and makeup -rinse face with dove beauty bar for sensitive skin -moisturizer So, I never just use a wipe to take off my makeup and sleep. I just don't think my sensitive skin could ever handle that and NOT wake up with little bumps all over my face. And honestly, makeup remover wipes have chemicals in them to break down makeup, I don't know how great it is to sleep with that on your face. I use these more as an aid to my skincare routine, not a one-step type of thing. Yes, these did burn my skin when I first started using them. But since I wash the residue off, it never caused me to have a problem. They don't burn anymore though, it was only during the first week I'd say. For me, these are amazing especialy for the price.

Wow. I am amazed at this stuff. I've always had it in my house, but I just used it for my lips. I have eczema and once in a while ill get a patch on my face and it itches like CRAZY. One night, I just couldnt take it and I slapped some on. It didn't stop the itching completely but it definitely calmed it. I continued to use it and i think its an awesome moisturizer that does not break out my sensitive eczema skin. I do not put this on my forehead or chin though, just because I'm the most sensitive there so I haven't been brave enough to put it there yet. Love love love it.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 2 of 5
nette92 11/16/2011 8:22:00 PM

UPDATED: I had to update my review because I feel like this product might have been changed, I'm not sure. I ran out of this and bought a new bottle. Suddenly i started to develop atopic dermatitis all over my face. It itched so badly especially in the shower that I would literally cry. I never suspected Revlon Colorstay because I had worn this for 2 years with no issues. I was using it everyday to cover the redness and disgusting-ness on my face. When I FINALLY realized that it was this giving me the issue (about 3 MONTHS LATER!) I thought maybe I got a bad bottle so I threw it out and bought a new one and the same thing started to happen. If you have sensitive skin like me, stop using this if your face feels itchy because continued use will feel something like hell! Had to lower the score. READ IF THIS BROKE YOU OUT/MADE YOUR SKIN FLAKEY! I stopped using this when I thought I had the wrong shade. When I finally picked up the right shade, I fell in love. Then, the bottle ran out so I went to buy another. I came home and noticed that the bottles were different. My old one said SoftFlex on it and the new one did not. I didn't think anything of it until after a few days I started noticing that my skin was flaking off (I have normal skin and this doesn't happen), looked extremely dull when I took it off, and my pores were clogged! It has to be the SoftFlex (whatever that is, anyway). I bought one with SoftFlex and I fell in love again. If you buy this, try to buy the one that says SoftFlex. It makes a world of a difference for me. I had to throw the new bottle out, because my skin looked horrible. Give it a try, it is great.

Cleansers -Fresh - Soy Face Cleanser

nette92 8/30/2011 2:24:00 AM

If you really think that this cleaned your makeup off, try another random makeup oil/cleanser and you'll be amazed at how much is still on your face. This doesn't clean your face, at all. It may remove the surface makeup, but it doesn't get into your face and it doesn't clean the traces left. I could bare the smell if it worked, but it doesn't and thats just another negative. 2 lippies just because it was true to it's name "extra gentle." So gentle, that it doesn't do anything. Thankfully this was just a sample. Don't waste your money, it's not going to clean your face.

Crème -L'Oreal - magic smooth souffle
rated 4 of 5
nette92 6/12/2011 12:02:00 AM

I normally never do "first impressions" reviews because I think they're not really helpful, since almost every product is pretty good at first. But I wanted to let everyone know about a deal that is going on for this product. On the walgreens website there is a $3 off coupon for this. On the l'oreal website there is a $2 off coupon for this aswell. So if you buy this at walgreens which is priced at $15.99 you'll get this for $11 plus some change for tax. And don't let them tell you you can't use 2 coupons! I did and the cashier tried to say I can't but you can use one store coupon and one manufacturer coupon so it worked out. Anyway, hopefully that will get it cheaper for someone. I have only used this once because I got it today so I'll say my initial reaction and then update later. Firstly, I am about nc25 right now and I chose the color Nude Beige. I swatched this on my neck when I got home and it almost looked orange but it does not go on orange at all. It's actually kind of light for my skintone right now. But I would say if you are nc20-25, you can pull off Nude Beige. I can't say if the next color up would be better because I don't have it. But if i get darker since it's summer I'll update my color here aswell. I used the sigma f80 brush with this and woah! Talk about airbrush effect. It really looked great. I also have dry skin, so even though I put moisturizer on before, it still made my nose (my driest area) kind of flakey. It wasn't terrible though. I would suggest just using a thicker moisturizer. It felt light and made my skin feel smooth. My skin is very sensitive so I will update if I get breakouts, which I have not so far. I wore this for about 5 hours and it looked pretty much the same as it did when I put it on. Personally, I like the jar it's cute and unique. The consistency is unlike any I have ever had. It's like a mixture of a mousse and a cream. This is not cakey if you use a light later which is a must for me. The coverage is kind of light but it evens out your skin-tone plus gives you a little extra coverage which is what I usually look for for that flawless look. I am very picky about foundation and I actually like this one and so far I would recommend it to a friend, especially with coupons. I would say give it a try.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
rated 3 of 5
nette92 6/9/2011 2:42:00 AM

I don't know what I was thinking buying this. I have dry skin. IF YOU HAVE DRY SKIN AND CAME HERE TO SEE IF YOU SHOULD BUY IT, TURN AND RUN. This just is not for dry skinned people. It sucks every single little oil in your face away. Dry spots galore. The reason I gave it a 3 instead of a 1 is because I can't give it a fair rating because it's not meant for me. I personally like the squirt top packaging.

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
rated 3 of 5
nette92 5/29/2011 3:44:00 PM

I've never in my life had such a confused/love/hate relationship with a foundation. First off, Sheer Glow looks amazing. It is a satin finish, not too matte not too dewy. It makes your skin look like velvety and soft to the touch. The color match was as perfect as I've ever had. The colors are more geared to yellow-tones, fyi. Sadly, this did break me out. For the record I have sensitive skin with eczema and products are more likely to break me out than other people. Save your receipts girls because I didn't and this only started to break me out like 3 weeks later. So it will just sit in my makeup drawer. Another thing, i have normal skin and this made my skin feel a bit oily after a few hours. Which is odd because I don't really have much natural oil and a product never did that before. I didn't look overly greasy though. Lasting power is good but I would suggest setting with a powder. As you can tell, this product for me is all over the place. If you came on here to see whether you should buy it or not, my advice is to go in and get a sample, no matter what skin type you have because this product has worked for a lot of people, and has failed a lot of people. If this worked for you, bless you! It is truly beautiful.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
rated 2 of 5
nette92 2/27/2011 1:02:00 AM

I wanted to love this product, because for a high end foundation its relatively cheaper than the others. First I want to say that you should all really match yourselves. Blend a little of it into your neck so you can see which color matches you the best. In my experiences at MAC, they love to match me (and alot of my pale friends) to NW20. My face might be pale and red, but I need a color to match my NECK so that I look like one color. I'm really an NC20. Anyway, this foundation is medium-full coverage. It dries to a completely matte, powdery finish. It lasts very long and from what I saw, it fades away pretty evenly, not in patches. One thing I didn't see anyone mention is that this foundation smells like a sharpie marker. With that being said, whatever they put in this stuff, it's STRONG. I was hoping this wouldn't break me out, but it did. I got little bumps all over my cheeks and the foundation was itchy. I returned this foundation. It'd too bad, it matched pretty well.

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
rated 1 of 5
nette92 2/3/2010 11:46:00 PM

I wanted to try this foundation for months since it's gotten so many rave reviews. Finally caved and bought it. First off the colors are very deceiving when you try on at sephora. If you run it in almost any of the colors look like they match (within reason) because this foundation is so liquidy and than. I suggest when picking a color to rub it in maybe about 3 times and then see if it works. I'm one of those people who wear foundation solely to even out the skin tone and redness. I do not like full coverage. I like medium coverage. Enough to cover redness but not heavy so it won't look cakey. I wore it for the day and someone told me I looked paler than usually. Looked in the mirror and saw that in natural light, it was wayyyy too light for me. At the end of the day I came home and looked in the mirror. All my foundation was gone. Poof. They weren't kidding when they said invisible coverage. I returned this to sephora the next day. Wanted to love it bc of the hype, but I just couldn't. Save your money ladies.
